About the operator
- ccccf00Very impressiveThis was a very well organized tour. The tour guide has you meet 1/2 hour beforehand in order to gather the group and get you into the building. The process is much like going to the airport, as you need to have your passport with you, and go through security. Once you are through security, the guide hands you off to a parliamentary tour guide. You will only see about 5% of the building, but it is very impressive. Walk the boulevard when you’re finished.
- MeggieMan00Poor and misleading informationWe thought we were paying for a private guided tour of the palace. Location meeting point was difficult to find. ‘Guide’ took us in and then disappeared. Avoid and do your own thing.
- Sylvain5432100Wrong meeting timeThe meeting time was at 15:00 on Trip Advisor, then the guide told me that I should arrive 30 minutes earlier. But that was not indicated anywhere on the description of the visit or on the ticket.
- KathrynS400SA00So, so busyBran Castle is a beautiful castle, epitomising the traditional fairy tale castle. I believe it is the most visited attraction in Romania. Whilst I enjoyed the castle and exhibits, including the unbelievably gruesome torture exhibition ( pay extra) it is so, so busy. Like a production line. I didn’t feel I had time to read the info or take in what I was seeing as you felt pressured to keep moving.
- tjyung00A waste of money: a quick 20-min hurry through with little explanationBook this tour if you want to question your life choices. Otherwise, get your ticket directly in person or online (60 lei) and save the 32 pounds as there was no value-add from my tour today. Booked after reading reviews here and was looking forward to it, but the actual experience made me feel like I was scammed. The tour lasted around 25 min, had a grand total of no more than 200 words said to me. Would've been shorter if I hadn't insisted on just reading the museum descriptions on the wall myself while the gentleman stood there waiting. I was the only one for my time slot, and was not assigned any of the tour guides praised here in other reviews. My guide did not seem like he really cared about the castle nor knew anything substantial to share with visitors. The recipe went: we go into a new room, "this is the king's bedroom", point at fireplace, "many fireplace, keep them warm, very nice", then we would hurry into the next room to repeat a similar repertoire with the same level of detail. You can imagine the disappointment and irritation one might feel hearing the stark contrast vs other tour guides that are leading other tours in the same room - providing any amount of actual tour-guiding.... I kept waiting for the guide to start giving the tour, but that was it. There were rooms that he said I didn't even have to bother going into just because there was a small queue. I felt rushed. We ended up in the courtyard where he hastily said good bye and pointed me to the exit. As I walked down alone later, at 11:40 thinking about how I will spend my time since my 1-hr tour ended within 30min, and how much money the tour company must be making from so little work - I saw the same guy take another 2-people group up the castle. Instead of the Bran Castle Skip-the-Line Guided Tour, Skip-the-Bran Castle tour felt more fitting for my experience today. Also note the meeting point is not at Bran Castle, check your ticket.
- cesarjs1600Es expectedCompany should improve clarification about meeting point. I contacted the company the day before and told me that the guy who will led us to the entrance will have a shirt with the company logo, but not logo not nothing. Other people was confused too
- Tittianto00BeautifulGreat place but what they really need is people who speak English. I found very few people spoke English there which I was surprised.
- costim30100One place. The House of People!Astonishing building like never see before. Everything is so original. You'll definitely visit for the second time.
- O7477NPmagdalenas00A lot of time wasted before tour atartedWe booked the 1pm tour and turned up at meeting point at 12.30 as requested by organiser. But then there was a lot of waiting around and time wasted by lethargic security. The tour started at 13.45. As we had a short stop in Bucharest we tried to cram as much as we could so paid here to get tickets in case there's none available when we get there. But we still had to wait for people who just turned up on the day and bought their tickets there and then. I understand that tickets are not guaranteed on the day, but if you have more than a day in Bucharest just check in the parliament first. We had to leave halfway through tour for the airport, as we understood that the 90 minute tour would start at 13.00 and end by 14.30, that proved too optimistic on our part.
- Check64800No Show Tour GuideTour operator was a no show. Managed to take the tour by standing in queue for open spot, then paying separately. This was a ripoff.
- davidmG9603OW00Unannounced abbreviated tourThe logistics of our visit (meeting point, tickets, etc.) were fine but the guide inside the parliament palace gave us only an abbreviated tour that did not even include the chambers of the two parliamentary bodies. Some friends who toured the building on the same day on a tour arranged by our river cruise company were shown those chambers. Very disappointing as the parliamentary chambers are the main function of the building.
- sjjones040100Highly recommend!Highly recommend! We booked castle tickets via Booking.com and when we met Maria to collect the tickets from Transylvanian Wonders, we booked the tour and did not regret it for a second. Greg was funny, very very knowledgeable and really made our visit!
- Michael T00An easy, well organised way to see the Palace of the ParliamentVery easy way to see the Palace. You can probably do it cheaper on your own but the price is still good value and it saves the hassle of trying to organise everything yourself. You need to be at the meeting place 30 minutes before the tour starts. Very well organised. Bring your passport otherwise no entry. Tour itself is interesting, and you get to see most of the major rooms on the first two floors. 70 per cent of the building is unfinished but what is complete is impressive, and built exclusively with Romanian materials.
- 867tennesseel00Great TourLots of information. Wonderful tour with a funny and interactive guide. Would go definitely go again.
- dcwillis110700Skip this and go directly to the Palace and buy a ticketWe assumed this was some sort of smaller group tour and were looking forward to the experience. The entire role of the person “leading” the tour was to show up 20 minutes late to a group of about 20 people and to laterally walk us to the line up for the official tour.

Best advice: buy tickets in advance. The line on a Monday for those without tickets was horrible! Also buy for when it first opens. VERY crowded the later you go. Very thankful Trip Advisor suggested this advance purchase!!

Interesting castle in spectacular position. Has no link to Dracula although promoted as Dracula’s castle. Long queues and some rooms jam packed

We are very sorry that your experience INSIDE the castle was not very pleasant but the review it suppose to reflect Transylvanian Wonders service not what you find inside Bran Castle. You should have expect that since you were in Bran in high season.

We had a very enjoyable experience touring the castle with the tour guide. I definitely recommend seeing the castle this way...he (sorry, I can't recall his name) was an excellent story teller and very amusing.

Paid for “fast pass” didn’t really do anything and there were still areas where extra ticket purchases were required for access. Quite busy meaning queues so we felt rushed in certain places. Overall a nice area and lovely surroundings so it is worth visiting.

You have to call once you arrive and if your phone doesn’t work internationally you are screwed. The lady at the ticket office dialed for us and the person arrived within 15 minutes…but it would have been faster to just buy tickets there instead of calling and waiting.

Bought the private tour and it exceeded expectations. Greg, our guide, was very personable, informative, provided a lot of color, and managed to easily work us around the large crowd.

We didn't go through an organised tour to Bran, just went on a day out from Brasov. The first sight of the castle meets all expectations. There was hardly any wait to purchase tickets and walk through some touristy stalls to the castle itself. A slight incline, obviously, but not a huge distance. The inside of the castle was intriguing, with detailed bi-lingual information boards alongside displayed artefacts. There are a lot of stairs and winding steps and narrow corridors to negotiate. Fortunately it was not busy the day of our visit and we could stroll leisurely through the castle enjoying the fantastic views from the windows and taking time to feel the history within its walls. Although no significant claim could be made that Count Dracula was ever a resident (look to Vlad the Impaler) the actual origins, residents and subsequent development and renovation of Bran was fascinating and the documentation in each room was extremely informative. I'm very glad that it was a quiet autumn day when we visited. The castle is splendid but I would hate to visit at busy times and would say that anyone with impaired movement would find it difficult and for a lot of the rooms, inaccessible. But well worth the visit and not extortionate. We passed a very pleasant hour and a bit, before heading into the village where a couple of restaurants offered food and drink, again at a reasonable price given their proximity to the attraction.

The skip the line ticket saves queuing at the ticket office at the castle. The office you pick your pre booked ticket from is just around the corner from the castle car park and the pick up process is very quick. From there you walk up to the entrance of the castle. The walk up to the entrance is up a steep hill and may be difficult to access for those with limited mobility.
We collected our auto tour equipment just inside the entrance to the castle, this wasn't that well sign posted and we found it by accident. The audio tour is simple to use with numbers displayed in each room which you enter into the device and press play. The auto tour is available in multiple languages. The castle itself is beautiful and information provided is pretty good. There are lots of narrow passages with people trying to move in both directions which can cause a few delays in getting round the castle. It was very crowded when we were there. Again the narrow passages and stairs may be a challenge for those with limited mobility.
You should give yourself at least an hour to get round the castle and a bit longer for busier times of day.
There are a number of parts of the tour where you are on balconies around the castle which have brilliant views of the surrounding area.

How long is the entire tour and amount of time spent in Bran before returning to Brasov. How close is your office from the Black Church?

The tour is about 45-60 min. from the time it gets started. It takes about 10-15 min. however before it gets started. We started off weaving between a lot of people to get up the stairs and into a room that only the guides can access. There the guide provides a lot of the foundational information about Dracula (the person/prince and the character/count). That took about 10 min. and then we walked through various rooms of the castle with the rest of the crowd. Several rooms were not discussed, but the guide was happy to answer questions we had about rooms or artifacts we were passing by on the tour.
