Instructors were friendly, and helped out a lot, with good advice end tips. Small group sizes in lessons helped a lot for quick progression. The kids LOVED it (my 7 year old says it is his new favourite sport) and my husband was really impressed that we was able to stand up quite consistently after just five 2-hour sessions. The team is professional, but also really friendly and great with kids. We can't recommend them highly enough and will be back again for sure.Written August 23, 2022

The three instructors we had over the two lessons were super friendly, really good teachers and gave clear and good advice to help our development - teaching my girlfriend a new technique when she struggled with the first. We have been there 30 sessions. I knocked myself out because I DID NOT listen to my instructor - so, please follow their advice, they are really professionals. 3 Teenager Girls and my wife had an unforgetable time there, I enjoyed watching them and especially Sisco encouraged them to stay on board of this very hard sport. Even in harsh conditions my 4 girls improved while staying safe. We definitely will come back next year. Vacation is never about the location. It is about the people you meet. We will miss the people of Specialsurf78.

We’re a family with three teenage kids and Rafael created a fun and safe surf experience for all of us. Providing good clear instructions before on the beach and enthusiastic coaching in the water. We give our best recommendations to Special Surf 78 and Rafa.

Family of 3 with 12 yr old son just had 7 days at the Star Inn Peniche and surfed pretty much every day with these guys. We were all total beginners and all the teachers were fantastic. Really inclusive, patient, attention to detail; they really want you to succeed! It is challenging but so much fun, and my son progressed amazingly well. He wants to return next year! A really great group of people, cannot recommend highly enough! Thank you Special Surf 78! Love Ruth, Tim and Benji xxx

If you want some good quality lessons and a lot of fun surfing, there is no better surf school in Peniche. After being here last year we decided to take lessons again this year because of the good experience.
Even if you already know how to catch some waves taking lessons is a really good way to get help and get to the right spots. The instructors will constantly guide you to the best waves and challenge you to try new things that will improve your surfing skills. With only five lessons we already progressed a lot and could try shorter boards.
The instructors are really kind and chill. They really make you feel like you are part of the surfing community. Thank you Edgar, Nuno, Pedro, Agus & Lucas for a great time.
Maybe till next year!

A week with Special Surf 78 was amazing for my whole family. Not only us, adults with different skill levels, but also our 10 yo daughter and teen son with special needs – all enjoyed it so much and learned a lot.
Special Surf 78 is really a school for everyone, which is unique.
The place is great as well as equipment and facilities.
Instructors are outstanding: professional, dedicated and patient while lessons are so much fun. Thank you Nuno, Edgar, Agustina, Pedro, Dercio and all!
All with a feel of real shaka spirit, highly recommended!

By far the best surfing experience I ever had!
The people are super friendly, welcomming and will absolutely make you fall in love with the sport. I have had surf lessons in many places and countries but this was by far the best. Whatever level you have they will teach you something new. They take their time, give great feedback and keep it fun at the same time. Want to learn how to surf? GO HERE!

Great surfing experience.
We booked surfing lessons in Peniche for the whole family.
Very well organized lessons with friendly staff and nice facilities, right across the street from the beach. We are complete beginners.
We were lucky to have a lesson with one of owners Nuno. He explained every step in great detail! He was very encouraging and had plenty of helpful tips . We had so much fun that we decided to book another day. I love the idea of the place offering therapy sessions for special needs kids, there was few of them there, obviously having lots of fun in the waves.
I would certainly recommend Nuno to anyone looking for a great surfing instructor!
Hope to come back one day!

Good supervision, the spot is right next to it which makes it easier to carry the equipment. The team is caring and professional for both beginners and experienced people. We will come back to take lessons next season.
