Our guide Alessandra was incredibly knowledgeable and enthusiastic throughout our 3 hour tour. History certainly provides much context for the present day. Seems that the dress code was not being fully enforced, probably due to temperature, but do be respectful about noise, photography, etc. €3 needed for audio equipment for Basilica. Small group is certainly an advantage due to gradients etc and not having to wait for straddlers.

As examples of early art they are incredible Sadly St Frances gets very much taken over by your groups with guides giving running commentary via audio mikes - spoils the ambience

Our guide was enthusiastic, knowledgeable and absolutely lovely. We were given so much information in a captivating way and were invited to ask any questions. We were made to feel comfortable and reassured we could take the tour at the pace that suited us and have breaks (it was very hot). It was amazing to see such beautiful sites and we had a very mixed group of teenagers, young people in their 20s and parents and she managed to engage and hold all of our attention. We would highly recommend this tour.

Operator cancelled 24 h before the tasting. Extremely disappointing as our week was planned around this and it was too late to book something else.

We had an excellent tour with Michelle! The tour entered the Church of Saint Claire, San Rufino, and both floors of Saint Francis. For St Francis we needed to pay an extra €3 for audio tour headsets, bring cash. We learned a lot and enjoyed Michelle's great attitude and good advice, he also spoke excellent English. For people with mobility challenges, the tour moves steadily downhill and does include some stairs.

Awesome sights, but we aren't Catholic so we could have spend a little less time with St. Francis. Don't know why the review has to have 100 characters.

We did this tour with a local expert as part of an Insight Vacations 'Country Roads of Italy' tour. You are not allowed to take photos inside - yet other visitors were doing so, were noisy and it was not 'patrolled'. This took away a little of the enjoyment, as our guide was very frustrated with the lack of respect of some visitors.

Antonella was an excellent tour guide. Bright and accommodating to our needs. We were a group of six. You could feel her passion for Assisi and the artwork she shared with us. This is an excellent tour of the town and the historical landmarks. 2 hours.

Our guides Alessandra was fantastic. She was very knowledgeable of the history of Assisi and the local churches. The information on St Clare and St Francis was a highlight. Highly recommend as long as you request Alessandra

Very happy with my experience with Umbria Con Me and one of their tour guides, Francesca.. We did 3 tours with her.. So very thoughtful to have the same person with us on each tour with my group of 7 ladies. Assisi was our last tour.. We started at the south end of town and ended at the basilica of St Francis. A lot to cover in 2.5 hours.. Francesca was a great fit for us and we appreciated her flexibility in leaving our group time to do some shopping.. our other tours with Francesca were Spello & Bevagna.. I will book again with Umbria Con Me; their pricing is very fair and they communicated promptly throughout our booking process.

Lovely place! It’s in the middle of nowhere and from where you look you see the beauty of Tuscany! The staff is very very friendly. The rooms are big and the breakfast is good. The restaurant offers limited menu however everything we tried was so tasty!

The tasting and tour was excellent and different than many others with its unique location in town and ancient cellars. We tasted six wines accompanied with small bites - all well explained by our host. Their prices are reasonable and they offer good shipping options. A very different vibe than the tastings out in the country, and we enjoyed it equally as much. Definitely worth the visit if you are in Siena.
