About the operator
- jasonyY6667CS00Fun experienceGreat fun on a segway and learned a lot of history on Richmond, while having a lot more fun than being on a walking tour. In fact, it didn't feel like a tour at all, but a fun time out on a fun machine with a knowledgeable guide sharing information along the way. Highly recommended if you're looking for something fun to do and want to learn some history along the way.
- kathygN7641LP00Great experience. The guide took some pictures--I think he forgot to send them to me?Wonderful!! I really enjoyed the group and the leader. The weather, scenery and information given by the guide made this tour special.
- CASETS00Amazing -and fun!- history lesson!Andrew , our tour guide , is profoundly knowledgeable of Virginia war history and its characters. He is very articulate , efficient and careful of his customers. The preliminary training was perfect without much dilation, then followed 2 solid hours of fun- filled rising mixed with beautiful views intermingled with the best history lesson about the historic figures that rest at the Hollywood. Well done, Andrew! Highly recommend- for visitors from out of town as well as locals!
- capriw00Beautiful, fun and informative tourOur guide, Andrew, shared a wealth of interesting information about the cemetery and its occupants. The cemetery itself was gorgeous and the views of the city and James River were stunning. If you are nervous about riding the Segway, our guide gave us an effective orientation, covering everything we needed to have a safe and fun tour. We highly recommend this tour!
- Destination61720600Very Patient! Our tour guide was very patient making, sure the entire group of segway novices was trained and comfortable. We were a large group and he took the time to work with everyone and made sure we still saw all the highlights at Hollywood Cemetery. Highly recommend this tour as a fun way to see this sight and to be confident on a segway.
- MichaelM1944400Segwaygreat way to learn about the city and canals in Richmond, 2hr tour was great with Sean. If I could I would have taken all of the tours
- 48barb201500Great way to tour RichmondOur”girls trip” decided to try the segways. Ages 16 to 71. We all loved it. Was not difficult. The guide,Vince, gave you plenty of instruction and was always watching out for everyone on the tour. The stops on the tour gave you a great overall feel for the city. We even got a little time to have fun with the Segway. I wish our guide had talked a little slower and louder. Maybe a microphone but certainly would recommend this tour to everyone! Great job Vince!
- Donhumphrioni00Vincent was a fabulous guideMy husband and I were the only people on our tour so we had the added bonus of Vincent’s undivided attention . We covered a vast area and Vincent was extremely knowledgeable about both the history and geography of the area. He totally contextualised monuments that we had hitherto just walked past. I would consider this as a ‘must do’ tour if you are visiting Richmond Va
- Cathy K00Wonderful time & so easyMy husband, son & I went on these. It was fun & very easy. We were able to stop & rest whenever we wanted, and our guide took very good care of us. We saw a lot of historic sites, including the Governor's Mansion, the flood wall. locks, Christopher Newport statue, murals, etc.
- spdar0ca00Really coolWe had a great history lesson during this tour. The trolley is really cute, the driver is very careful, and Melissa, the tour guide is knowledgeable and pleasant. This tour is worth your time and money.
- Dean383900Great way to see Church HillWe selected a Private 2 hour tour so we could move at our pace. It added $10/person for a group of 6. The tour was excellent and Jonathan was very knowledgeable and accommodating. The weather was chilly 40 degrees and partly cloudy. The only thing we would change is to dress warmer and wear thicker gloves! Great Tour!
- Dean383900Great Way to See a Small Part of RichmondPlan a little extra time to find parking. The parking decks are a little pricey. Street parking is available if you have time to look. The Segway tour was great. It takes about 5 minutes to get familiar the it. Also the guide (Grace ) was excellent and provided us with a great history lesson!
- Woodburn195800WELL WORTH THE TIME AND MONEY- GREAT EXPERIENCE!!I just did the one hour tour this past Friday and it was a lot of fun! The guide, John, was knowledgeable and made everyone feel comfortable - particularly those folks who had never ridden a Segway. I highly recommend this activity!
- Townsend M0010/10Fantastic. Had a great time and was a blast. The instructors were great at teaching everyone how to use the equipment and gave a great tour of the cities historical landmarks. Not only do I highly recommend but will recommend it over almost anything else.
- Lee H00A Great DestinationWe arrived on Memorial Day and the graves were all decorated. Over 3000 confederate dead had been relocated here after the civil war. We drove thru the whole cemetery and saw many memorable monuments. Three presidents are buried there: James Monroe, John Tyler and Jefferson Davis. along with many famous generals from the Civil War.

Had an excellent Segway tour of Richmond. Our tour guide Vince was a walking encyclopedia of knowledge. Vince pointed out every location on our tour that was significant in the history of Richmond. The weather cleared up and the rain stopped prior to the start. Totally recommend, a great way to see the city

So much fun! My friend and I decided at the last minute to try a one-hour Segway tour in Richmond, VA, on March 22, 2022 through RVA on Wheels. Afterward, my friend and I enthusiastically vowed to return for a two-hour tour and to bring along our family and friends. Henley, the bright and helpful assistant, and Matt, the patient and informative tour guide, were wonderful! If a Segway isn't your thing, they also rent traditional and electric bikes.

The Segway tour was so much fun! Our guide spent a good amount of time teaching everyone how to ride the Segways safely. I was a little nervous because I’m not an athletic person or a good bike rider. But in no time, I was zipping along. Then we saw many highlights of Richmond landmarks. I definitely recommend it!

We had a great time. Our guide was patient in teaching how to operate the Segway. Once the tour started Segway became easy to ride. Our guide was very informative about the history and about interesting places to see and eat at.

Never did Segways before and didn’t know much about Richmond. This was a fun way to experience both. Guides were awesome and very attentive, making sure we were comfortable to ride. The tour itself was fun, beautiful and interesting, all in one. Highly recommend!

Our family of 3 with our 19 year old son enjoyed our Segway tour around the city. Was nervous about trying this, but the guide gave great instructions and after a few minutes of practice we were all 3 good to go. The guide was patient with me when I was nervous to step off my segway. But he helped me get the hang of that too. Do not be nervous to try this...just do it. It was a blast, best part of our day in Richmond. So fun, I want a segway now. Very informative tour, enjoyed everything.

We were 5 woman who did the 2-hour tour with Jonathan. Jonathan was the best, the best instruction, best historian and the best tour guide. I would highly recommend this tour for anyone visiting Richmond. Ask for Jonathan, he’s the best.

We went for a brisk but enjoyable evening ride to see the place in and around town, including a trip to Browns Island to take in the cityscape. The tour guides were kind and informative. Everyone felt comfortable, and they provided outstanding instruction. We have taken multiple Segway tours, but this training was better than some earlier ones. We intend to visit Richmond again and go on a history tour! Really fun thing to do in RVA! Give it a try.

This was a fantastic tour! It started with an introduction to how to ride the Segway. We got ample time to become comfortable operating the vehicle. (Is a Segway a vehicle??) Then we had our one-hour tour. John was a fantastic and knowledgeable tour guide. We definitely need to do this tour again, but do the two-hour tour.
