      Amazing kayak tour!
I went on this kayak tour with my boyfriend. It was really amazing! The kayak guide came to pick us up from our meeting point. He was there on time and the communication beforehand went really well. It was obvious that he is really passionate about his job. During the kayaking tour, he told us some very interesting stories about the local history, and about the history of the lake. It was all very interesting! He also offered to take pictures of us when kayaking, which turned out really pretty! The tour is amazing, he stays close to you, but he also gives you enough privacy if that's what you want. In conclusion, this was a really cool and unique experience, very fun if you want to escape the busy city centre of Rome on your vacation for a day.

      Kayaking with a View
Booked this tour as I love being outdoors and active on holiday. Have experience kayaking and was pleased that this was available to us on 30th December. Everything from start to finish was excellent. Arranged to be collected at Anagnina and we travelled to the lake. Only myself and husband booked for the date which made this very personal. Changing facilities on site, weather conditions perfect and scenery beautiful. Our guide was, friendly, informative and very accommodating. I would highly recommend this tour for people of any age and ability. A great way to view the lake!

Via Sacra + Castel Gandolfo + Pasta
I took the tour with my parents. The guide met us at the metro station at the agreed time. We then had a quick and enjoyable walk to see both lakes. Afterward, we headed to an incredibly beautiful town. To conclude the tour, the guide took us to a delightful restaurant where the food was excellent. The guide is outstanding and very attentive.

If you are looking for a relaxing escape from the bustle of the city, we would highly recommend.
We had a fabulous time on this trip. The lake was beautiful; we had a very chilled paddle around its left side (we were given the choice) and enjoyed seeing turtles and various birds, as well as the weed covered remnants of a sunken car! Alex was very knowledgeable about the area and it's history, which was very interesting to learn about. He also kindly provided homemade pizza for lunch before our train back - delicious! If you are looking for a relaxing escape from the bustle of the city, we would highly recommend this excursion. Thank you, Alex, for a great day 🙂

Refreshing trip to get away from the busy tourist streets of Rome
Wonderful trip to a refreshing lake not far from city center. Water was clean, we took a swim, too. Well organized, we were picked up on time from Anagnina metro station. We saw turtles and birds. Kayaking was fun and easy, my 13 year old daughter managed to do it well on her own, with the help of good guidance from Alex. Definetely would recommend this trip to everyone!

      Great morning on the water
Beautiful calm lake Albano was a great setting for our first kayaking experience. Alex our guide was clear and calm in his instructions for the operation and manoeuvring of the kayaking, and set a manageable pace for our trip. We set out on a scenic tour hugging the shoreline and we’re able to observe the local wildlife and beautiful landscape.

Lack of communication through several means
It was very difficult to get a hold of the tour guides despite emailing, texting, WhatsApp and calling. They were non responsive when I tried to find out the pick up site, so I ended up getting a taxi to take me to the meeting site, which I arrived several hours earlier (intentionally). I get a call from the tour guide Michael asking where I was because they needed to leave for the meeting point. I told him I was already at the Lake. After the tour, while Michael was driving us to the pickup up point, an item fell out of my purse. After he dropped us off, before we even left the pickup point, I realized the item was missing. Again, like pulling teeth to get a hold of the Tour leader. I think it was finally through trip advisor that we finally made contact in which Michael confirmed they had the item that fell out of my purse and inquired how I would like to retrieve it ...and here I am, offered a solution, willing to compensate for any troubles, but NO response. I realize they are busy, but not so busy that you cannot confirm with guests receipt of messages, or that you are willing to assist the guest in returning the item. I am returning to Rome on the 18th and gave a specific location in which it could be turned in to by that date, allowing plenty of time for the item to arrive to the destination. Willing to compensate for the trouble. What other means can I get a hold of the tour guide, if not through call, email, text, app, WhatsApp or this review? I'm a bit dismayed as I was in the lack of communication to get to the pickup point.

Relaxing and easy lake kayak experience.
We did this with another couple and found it easy for first time kayakers, and it was a fairly relaxing afternoon. We got picked up at the metro station by Carlotta (?), and she was very kind and helpful. She seemed eager to talk to our group throughout the day, and drove us back to the metro after the tour as well. They all speak English. The kayaking part is pretty easy as this lake is very peaceful and not crowded. Only recommendations would be to bring a swimming suit, water shoes or sandals, a change of clothes AND towels. They did NOT provide any towels. There is a changing room and bathroom on site you can use before getting on the kayaks/change after. They did provide a bottle of water and a snack (pizzas), but you may want bring your own snack as the kayak part took about 3 hours. If I were to do it again I’d book a morning tour instead. From metro pickup to drop off it was 5 hours so we got home at almost 8pm. Carlotta chatted with us on the ride back and we enjoyed visiting with her as much as we did the kayaking. We paid her a gratuity (20 € per couple) which I don’t think is required or expected, and she seemed very appreciative. This was a fun time and would be easy for couples or groups, and does not require any kayak experience.

Fun relaxing break in beautiful surroundings
The whole process start to finish was smooth and simple. The guys were very helpful and friendly and got us out on the water in no time! It was such a peaceful break away from Rome city Center and the views were amazing! We were provided with all the equipment we needed and at the end we were given some of the tastiest pizza we’d had the whole trip! Would definitely recommend this experience to anyone looking for a quiet morning surrounded by beautiful views.

      You should definitely do this!
This is a very delayed review - I wrote one on AirBnB right away, and it has always been in the back of my mind to add it to TripAdvisor as well because this was an amazing experience! My family took this tour in the summer of 2022 (could no longer select the date this far back when writing the review) - all of us loved it! It was very well organized, the guides were very responsive with all the meet-up instructions and the tour itself was fun, picturesque, and informative. Huge bonus - the car ride from the train station where our driver shared history and tidbits about the area. Would do this again in a heartbeat!

      100% recommend
We had a fantastic experience kayaking. The meeting point was easy to find and the guide was already there when we arrived. The lake was spectacular, very beautiful and our guides were able to give us information about some of the historic buildings we went past. For someone that has limited experience kayaking we were not rushed everything was very chilled and relaxed and the distance felt perfect. Would 100% recommend to anyone visiting Rome as a lovely change of pace from the busy city.

The lake is wonderful but the tour is a disaster for english speakers
Your tour started at the train station Anagnia, where we got greated by a guy who didn't speak english or italian well enough so we couldn't understand him. This was followed by a scary car ride during which the driver was constantly on his phone. Arriving at the lake we got a canoing instruction which consisted of about two pretty bad english sentences. But if you speak spanish the guides can tell you some more information. Eventhough they aren't trained professionals as their webside indicates. All in all the lake is defenitly worth seeing, But if you don't speak spanish maybe don't book that tour.

When visiting ancient Rome with a bunch of students, this is a great alternative for doing something completely different! Getting away from crowded Rome and having an adventure in the great environment of lake Gandolfo.
The team picked us up at the Callisto catacombes and brought us back to our house too! Great service!
We had a lot of fun on the lake with Alex and his friend (forgot his name). Even in the end a little race ;)
Thanks Stefano, Alex and the rest of the crew for a great afternoon!

Kayaking was an amazing experience for me. It was excellent, relaxing and beautiful! Our guide Alex was super! He taught paddling (it was my first time), told stories about lake and town Casto Gandolfo. He got us from Rome to the lake and then after kayaking to town and recommended sightseeing and restaurant where my friend and I had a great meal. It was fantastic! P.S. Alex thank you so much once again!)

Never been kayaking before, a nice surprise for the female group age 40-50. Alex, our guide and instructor, was cool and friendly and above average serviceminded.
The best choice of activity this beatiful spring day! Try it😃

Even if you’re only in Rome for a few days, add this to your list! It was so much fun. My boyfriend and I have never kayaked before but they give you very straightforward instructions and let you learn as you’re going!
You kayak in a BEAUTIFUL lake, just outside of Rome that was previously a volcano. Alex picked us up from a metro station nearby and drove us about 15 minutes to the lake. We were the only couple on the tour and Alex kept us amused with interesting history anecdotes along the way.
He provided us with a windbreakers and also water.
However thermals is probably a good idea to bring if you’re going on a colder day.
WE DEFINITELY RECOMMEND and we will be back in summer so we can swim too!
    Thank you!

We celebrated a hen party on the 31st of August 2018 and chose the organized tour on the lake with the wine&food tasting included!
Stefano and Alex were both simply extraordinary, both during the booking phase (which included many phone calls and whatsapp messages and requests from our side ;-) and during the activity!
We had a great time with Alex (our canoeing guide), who is a very nice and funny guy and really made us feel at ease and "cuddled" in each part of the tour (he even pulled a canoe whose "drivers" were too tired to paddle on our way back). He explained to our bride some interesting and peculiar aspects of the lake and its sorroudings.
The tasting was rich with local products and a big amount of wine which we were not able to drink all ;-)
Friendly price considering that we still were in Rome (even if it seems impossible;-) and that the activity covers several hours and includes different parts (explanations, tasting, paddling).
Highly recommended to anyone who loves nature, outdoor activities, water, wine and above all...laughter ;-)))
