        Fantastic full day Kayak tour
Recently went on full day tour with Blazing Paddles. Tour began at base of Hoover dam. We got lucky and had the owner of the company and his little dog. The weather was perfect and the sights were phenomenal. Made a few stops along the way including hot springs and a cave. Would highly recommend the full day tour over the half day. Definite must do if visiting Las Vegas.

        Beautiful day with Blazin Paddles
Did this tour back in April with my step-mom and dad… we elected to do the rental option round trip out of willow beach. The girl that launched us was super nice and informative, and the equipment is top notch for the price. The canyon was beautiful and we even saw some big horn sheep! Highly recommend

        Very scary moment.
The instructor was in a rush to get us on the water. Nothing was mentioned about how to get out of the kayak if you capsized. The instructor was first in line for the emerald cove and a couple’s kayak did capsized and we all watched in horror. The instructor only realized when people were shouting, then he paddled to rescue with several other couples. It was a windy day and choppy water and the company did let us know the day before, however they wouldn't refund our money so left us no choice but to go. My overall experience wasn’t as pleasant. I think the company should invest in a walkie talkie with the base for emergencies and motorized boat for rescues.

        Great Trip!!
This was a great trip! It was my husband and I with our two sons. We rented tandem kayaks. We took the half day kayak trip. Could not have asked for a better trip. Our guide was very knowledgeable and very accommodating with helping us capture pictures. Definitely recommend this trip.

        Absolutely great!
Took the 1/2 day Emerald Cave tour with transportation from Vegas. Pick up was easy and a great piece of history told during the ride through Boulder. It was nice to have no travel worries. Jamaica was our driver and guide. The Kayaking was great. Scenic and beautiful. The stops where we walked the trails, provided even more spectacular views. While we learned about nature and historical details, this tour provided some Zen quiet moments for those who needed moments to be quiet and one with nature. Loved every minute of this and would highly recommend this tour. This was early November and the weather was beautiful. Doesn't have to be mid summer. Took this trip with friends and plan to do it again and bring my husband. Thanks for a great experience.

This was an amazing day! Weather was perfect, views were incredible! Our guide Jules was the best! She informed us of local history and took us on a short hike with the most beautiful view! Even took a picture for us. Highly recommend!

        Fun, educational, relaxing
Jamaica was an awesome tour guide. Knowledgeable, friendly and fun. We had a great paddle. We learned about the history of the Hoover Dam, the eco system of the area, and got to explore a small cave . Snacks, water, and squirt guns were provided. Was fun excursion!

With all the hiking we did, I think this was my favorite part of our trip. The day couldn’t have been better.
We learned a lot about the area. I thought the “river gauger “Story was amazing. Melissa was fun and knowledgeable! Highly recommend this company and Melissa!

Extraordinary Experience - Full Day Guided Kayak Trip
Thank you to Ryan and the Blazin Paddles Team (and Bailey)! My partner and I spent a full day (guided trip) on the Colorado River, through Black Canyon, paddling from the Hoover Dam to Willow Beach. It was a 10/10 day and the highlight of our 8 day trip in the American southwest. The river and canyon are extaordinarily beautiful and peaceful with the slot canyon hotsprings being the most unique we have ever visited. Thank you for making this trip possible for us!

Once in a Lifetime Experience! SO AWESOME!!!!!!
This was an epic adventure!!! We loved being so close to the Hoover Dam. This is a once in a lifetime experience. The views were outstanding! We loving exploring the hotspots! Our guide was perfect for my family. Jamaika was so patient and kind. I brought an 11 year old and two 14 year olds. She was extremely knowledgable and helpful. My teenagers felt like that a huge accomplishment for kayaking 12 miles on their own. I felt the same way! This company was so accommodating to our family and went the extra mile to make sure we had the best time!!! BEST TRIP EVER!

        Great Experience!
So happy I went with Blazin' Paddles for my first kayaking experience. I'm a relatively newbie local and to say that our guide, Jules, also a local, is a plethora of info about kayaking and all the fun stuff to do in the area is an understatement. Look forward to future tours.

Half day trip up the river. Lovely place and our guide was Melissa. She was really good and told us lots facts about the area. She ensured everybody kept together and offered us breaks to stop for drinks and snacks, which were much needed in the heat. Brilliant time had by myself and my other half.

This is the second time we've taken a tour with Blazin' Paddles, and it was even better than the first! If I could give six stars I would. Last year we did the half day tour, and it was great. Quality time on the water, plenty of time to hang in Emerald Cave. Then, yesterday we did the full day tour, and it was even better than I expected. Well worth being at the pick up point at 6:20 am. Beginning the tour at the base of the Hoover Dam was awe inspiring. Since this section of the river isn't open to all (you have to have a permit - which Blazin' Paddles obtains), there isn't anyone else on the water. Spanning about six hours, we stopped at two different hot springs, lunch on a beach and popped into the Emerald Cave before landing at Willow Beach. Blazin' Paddles keeps it group size small, which is great. Not only are you more surrounded by nature than people, but the smaller group size allows for quality time within your group. We will definitely take a tour with Blazin' Paddles again!

Morgan, you are awesome! We agree, starting your day at the base of the breathtaking Hoover Dam is an awe inspiring experience. Thank you for the great review and we are so excited to have you back on the river with us!

First of all, Seth, our tour guide, was awesome. My friend lives in Vegas and we wanted to do some kayaking while I was visiting. We’ve both kayaked a decent amount before, but we were looking for a relaxing tour that wouldn’t be too long and tiring in the summer heat. This tour was perfect!

We decided to do a tandem kayak to lighten the work load on each of us and it was super easy. We’re small women and we could have easily both manned our own kayak, but since we were so fast we got a lot of time to sit and look around at the mountains and the river.

This is a relatively easy trip and pretty rewarding with Emerald Cove in the middle. I recommend taking the 12pm tour so you can hopefully see the full beauty of the cove — I wish we would have done this. The water is cold so you can easily cool off in the heat. Blazin Paddles was a good choice because they’re very affordable and friendly. The Hoover Dam Lodge, where there office is located, was also very convenient to drive to. I highly recommend this company!

I recently booked a half day kayaking trip in Black Canyon, Las Vegas for a group of 10 with Blazin Paddles. The experience was exceptional from start to finish. Ryan, the owner, was beyond accommodating during the booking process and accepted our group at very short notice. The pickup and drop off at our location of choice made it totally stress free and the tour itself was equal parts breathtaking, fun and informative. Our 2 guides, Lauren and Matt, really made the day with there attentive but relaxed attitude. I would thoroughly recommend this to anyone staying in Vegas, it’s a great way to get out of the bright lights for a few hours. They also offer a night kayaking trip and a full days trip, I only wish I had time to do these as well. Excellent day, excellent service and reasonably priced.

I did the half day kayak tour on Monday and it was absolutely incredible. I was picked up from Mandalay Bay at 9am and on the water by 10:30am! There was a quick stop at the Hoover Damn lodge (where their office is) to sign waivers, use the restroom, and purchase any last minute items such as hats/water shoes/dry bags. I was pleasantly surprised with how affordable their items were as they weren’t using it as an opportunity to price gouge, but more so a chance to buy things that will make the tour more comfortable and convenient in the event you didn’t know you needed these items.

Melissa and Celeste were our guides and they were informative, hilarious, and patient the entire time. The four mile tour flew by and was an amazing time. I highly recommend this tour if you don’t want to spend a whole day away from the Vegas Strip, but want a breath of fresh air from partying all day/night long. I’m looking forward to my next trip to Vegas, and I’ll book either their twilight tour or extend my stay and do the full day tour. I really enjoyed being back at the hotel by 4pm so I might repeat this one again because it was so much fun.

5 stars and 100% would recommend!

My wife and I booked this trip on our recent visit to Las Vegas, and we absolutely loved it. She was actually five months pregnant at the time, and we were a little worried that the trip might end up being too strenuous. That wasn't the case. It was a pretty relaxing tour, and neither of us were sore at the end. The kayaks were comfortable, sturdy commercial models, and our guide helped adjust the seating and foot petals to fit. The scenery was gorgeous. Our guide, Reid, was absolutely awesome, a consummate outdoorsman. He was very patient with the river newbies. My wife and I aren't experts by any means, but we've been in our fair share of kayaks at the Great Lakes, the Outer Banks, and the Florida Keys. Reid offered a pretty detailed introduction to kayaking, and we both learned a thing or two. He took more care in leading our group, drawing the eye to the incredible flora and fauna, and exploring the really interesting natural features of the canyon than I was expecting, and it really placed the experience a few notches above what I expected it to be. This excursion isn't necessarily the best venue for folks that want to explore the river on their own. My wife and I have done that kind of thing before, and we recognize its merits. But we were very glad to have booked this guided trip with Reid at Blazing Paddles because we feel that we got much more out of the river and the canyon that we would have on our own.

Went on a trip with a group of ten last weekend and really enjoyed it! Dani was our tour guide and she was outstanding. She was friendly, energetic, upbeat, and knowledgeable. She did an excellent job explaining different aspects of the lake; including a brief history of the Hoover Dam, and commentary on some of the wildlife. We actually saw a family of big horned sheep at the tail end of the tour and that was just awesome!

We did the half-day tour, which started at 8am and ended around 2pm. Not super rigorous for anyone wondering how physically challenging it might be. I would suggest bringing sunblock and water;however, Dani did provide additional water and all the snacks we could eat. Good snacks too, like Cheez-It, granola bars, and choices between healthy and sugary snacks.

It really was a beautiful tour and the emerald cove area was as green as its namesake. Our group had time for pictures and videos and we did not at any point feel rushed, like on some tours. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone looking to get out and get some fresh air. The water is refreshing and the history is very interesting. If you are looking for a thorough guide who is friendly and brings a great vibe, Dani is that guide.

Our experience started with Kelly contacting me with the directions for the pick 24 hrs prior to our wonderful experience. She was very helpful and answered every question I had quickly. She put my mind at ease, since I had never done this before.

On the morning of our kayaking excursion Reid our guide was on time and scooped not only us but all other 10 people in our group quickly and safely and we quickly on our way. We all talked on the way and he established a repoire with everyone in the group. Because of Reid we all knew where everybody came from and we were all looking forward to our experience together.

Reid spent time with everyone to make sure they were comfortable in there experience and with him as the guide. He was constantly giving us information about the river we were on. We had the best time. He even helped in the end when I was frustrated with the current and ready to give up.

He never stopped finding way to enhance our experience. He even took us on a mini tour of the area hru and showed a treat. Reid made sure that there was no doubt that this was a highlight of our trip. We will definitely be back next year

From start to finish, we were well taken care of. Since the group going out that day was a little smaller than usual, we were picked up at Treasure Island. Griffin was our guide and he was very informative and gave great explanations of where we were going, what we would see and history of the area. I have never been in a kayak before. My travel friend had, so we took a tandem and it worked great. I had no problems. Other than dropping my phone in the river! I was sure I would not be the one to do that, but yep, it was me! Thankfully my waterproof case came through for me and it is still working to this day. Breathtaking views, spotted a bald eagle right away! Emerald Cave was gorgeous and one tour ahead of us was just leaving, so we had no wait time. We made great time and were able to cruise on the return back to Willow Beach. Water and snacks were offered numerous times and as it was 100 degrees out, we took full advantage of the cold water. Griffin explained a lot of the concerns with the water levels and history of the dam. He made the tour very interesting and I would recommend him to anyone wanting to do this. My friend and I have talked about doing this kayak trip several times as we travel to Vegas once a year, but have never done it. I am so glad we decided to do it this year. Blazin' Paddles made it very easy, fun and interesting. After we returned our kayaks to Willow Beach, they loaded them up and we waited for a group to return because that guide was driving us back. They apologized for delaying our return. We sat outside and enjoyed the view. It didn't take long and we were on our way back. Overall I would recommend this to anyone who wants a great outdoor tour that is stunning to see and not a huge amount of work. If you kayak regularly, you could do the full day trip. Our half day trip wore us out, but more from the sun than the exercise. USE SUNSCREEN. Even if you are outside frequently as we are, we used it and I am glad we had no sunburn issues. Again, Blazin' Paddles was a fantastic decision. Our safely and well being were the top priority. Thank you Griffin for a great day on the Colorado River!!

Wow! this review is stunning! Thanks so much for a great description of the half day tour and all the fun that can be had! Yes, people do come on the tour to cool down in the hot weather ~ the cool water is a bonus for the entire day. It sounds like you had the perfect tour and we LOVE hearing that! Thanks so much for this 5 star Review.

Had a great time on this tour! Scenery was beautiful - I particularly liked that we were given stops at cool points along the river and got to see areas on foot. Thought the guide Chris did a fantastic job, made me feel super confident in the my boat and I liked how he provided info about the area but it didn’t feel like he talked the whole time (a big plus in my book). I’d highly recommend this tour if you’re visiting Vegas, or just like kayaking and/or beautiful scenery!

It is the best when we hear a beginner felt confident in your boat! Chris is a wonderful guide, and it will make him happy to hear that :) Thank you for this wonderful review!!

Our guide, Reid, was awesome. He was very knowledgeable about the history of Vegas and Boulder City, we had a ton of fun learning and kayaking. My friend loves the naked shoveling guy in Boulder City LOL. The water is incredibly beautiful and clear, this is by far the next kayaking trip we have ever done and the best part of our Vegas trip so far. Would definitely come back to experience it again— and would absolutely request Reid again. Thank you so much!

What an awesome review, Reid will be happy!! Isn't it the best finding these nature gems outside of a big city?! Hope to see you out with us again!
