      10/10 take this tour!
We had a great time! Our guides were Ellie (hope I spelt that right) and Matt - they were both fantastic and kind. They did a lot to try and customize the trip to what we wanted to do, as in it can be harder or easier depending on your preference. The bikes worked great, the trails were great, and we even saw a Moose! Would definitely recommend doing this is you've never ridden a fit tire bike before.

      Wonderful company!
It turned out that my sister and I are such poor bike riders, we decided the ride would not be worth the risk of broken bones. But the owner, Frankie, took us on a hike while the rest of the group rode the trail. She gave us lots of great information about the area as well. After our hike she took us to earthquake park, then the pond where the others met up with us. As we pulled up, we spotted a bull moose walking down the sidewalk! It was terrific!

      Outstanding Tour!
This is a must do tour! Great way to experience the parks outside of Anchorage. This tour company and guides know how to run a quality experience. Pick up and drop off was very smooth. The guides were super friendly and helpful. We were lucky enough to see 5 moose while riding. Amazing day! We will do it again when we return to Anchorage.

      I'd do it again!
This was a great experience! Our guide was very personable and made everyone feel comfortable. His knowledge of the area was impressive including not only the geology of Anchorge, but the habitat for bears, moose. Unfortunately, we didn't see either bears or moose. It was a great ride regardless! The bikes were easy to pedal and comfortable! Frankie was there to greet us at the starting and end points which was a nice addition to the experience. Smiles all round!

      Anchorage Bike Ride Tour
My wife and I went on a Great bike ride Tony Knowles Coastal Trail with our guide Joe at Alaska Trail Guides. We stopped at many sights that are significant to Anchorage as well as Alaska as a whole and Joe’s education about Anchorage’s history make this a great ride on arrival in Alaska or before you leave which was our case. We were also lucky enough to see a Cow Moose and her young one and later on in the ride we saw a A Bull Moose setting in the woods near the trail. This trail is beautiful, along the water and woods in park area of Anchorage. Our driver Bryan was helpful also with answering our questions also. I would recommend taking a bike tour with Joe at Alaska Trail Guides. Frank and Linda

      What a Great Day!
We had a great time biking the Tony Knowles Trail. It was a nice leisurely ride with a number of stops at viewing sites, such as Earthquake Park and overlooking Cook Inlet. Best of all, at two different spots, we saw a momma and baby moose just off the bike path. Thank you Frankie and Elle (sp?).

      Biking in the nature
Good opportunity to bike a bit and see in the meantime a lot of points and a bit of nature. In fact the opportunity of seeing some animals are really high and you have to expect everything from them. Wonderful!

Beautiful scenic tour, definitely a must when visiting Anchorage! Eli was a great tour guide and Frankie our driver. Great way to get out of the city and visit nature while biking back towards the city. We saw a Moose and her calf today:)

      Tony Knowles Coastal bike ride
My family and I enjoyed our bike ride along the Tony Knowles Coastal Trail. The guide provided clear safety and bike instructions and was very attentive during the ride. He also stopped to explain points of interest and when moose were visible from the trail (saw seven!). Would definitely ride with this company again!

This was a really fun Mountain Bike tour (not e-bike). We drove about 25 minutes from Downtown Anchorage SE to what I believe is the Glen Alps Overlook Trail. Our tour guide Michael was excellent and very familiar with the area, as well as the nature facts that he shared with us. The bikes were in excellent condition and perfectly suited for the trails we went on. This was my first time on a mountain bike tour so I wasn’t sure what to expect. It was great exercise and a gorgeous setting, but this was not overly challenging (I would not have wanted it to be). Any capable bike rider could handle this tour. Note that even though the weather was warm and dry, our clothes did get somewhat splattered and wet due to many puddles along the trail from runoff water from the mountains. (So it isn’t like your local park which would be dry if it hasn’t rained in a while). We walked the bikes through a bit of snow in places, so I would recommend hiking boots or old sneakers on the ride. Overall, it was a phenomenal day with gorgeous views and a great guide.

My husband and I visited Alaska for our honeymoon and loved it. When we went on the bike tour it was raining and still so fun; I'd say the rain added an extra element of excitement. It was definitely a workout, but worth the views!

Our guides were super knowledgeable, and were able to answer most of our many questions regarding Alaskan outdoors. They picked us up downtown and were able to drop back off where they picked us up.

All in all, we biked 8-9 miles into the park, were able to experience the outdoors quite a bit, and we saw a moose! 10/10 would recommend.

I would also recommend wearing pants/leggings and a jacket if you are sensitive to poison oak/ivy. Alaska has their own variety (cow parsnip - reactive when exposed to sunlight) that lined the trails we biked on.

The views in Chugach State Park were amazing, but I enjoyed the deep reds and bright yellows of the changing tundra plants just as much. We biked to an alpine lake with crystal clear water. Our guide, Caitlin, knew where to look for blueberries and we stopped to pick and eat blueberries along the way and again at the lake. Caitlin also had an eye to see wildlife that I would have missed. On the way down she spied a bull and cow moose grazing together in the valley below us. If we go back to Anchorage I would like to do this ride again.

Had a great experience on the Chugach tour with Elly. She was a fantastic guide, would recommend to anyone visiting the area for the first time like myself. Fat tire bikes are a ton of fun, more stable than normal mtn biking, and will still get your heart rate going. Views incredible and even got to see some moose! Coordinating the trip was very easy. Nothing but good things to say.

Despite the rain, we had a wonderful morning biking in the Chugach mountains thanks to our excellent guide, Brian. He was so knowledgeable and informative about the surrounding area and beyond. We felt safe at all times while enjoying a scenic, challenging bike ride. Thank you Brian!

Loved doing this. The weather wasn't great, it was quite foggy, so we couldnt see the scenery. But that was okay. We had a blast biking on the rocky roads with our fat tires. The company was great - good guide, offered all the equipment needed, even rain gear. The only negative was that we ended early.. It was supposed to go until 12:30pm, but we ended before noon.

Hi! Thanks for taking the time to leave a review. We're thrilled you had a blast riding on the fat bikes - they really are a lot of fun! Maggie is a wonderful guide, and the rain gear is perfect for those wet days. With transportation included, we're usually done biking around noon (2 hours of biking), and then it takes about 30 minutes to load the bikes and transport the group back to downtown Anchorage. If you choose to meet us at the trailhead, your tour technically ends early because you don't need to be transported to/from the trailhead. Have a great time in Alaska! Cheers, Frankie

So cool! We visited in August 2020 and this was our first activity since arriving in Anchorage. Elly was knowledgeable and made it super fun. We may or may not have gotten stuck on some rocks but it was the hardest laugh I’ve had in awhile! We also got to see 2 moose and a coyote so we definitely felt like we had the full experience of wildlife and mountains!

This was our inaugural fat bike ride. We had a fun exhilarating beautiful ride in the Chugach mountains. There was cloud cover early and it cleared up for the ride back. We were surrounded by beautiful views. Carl provided excellent guidance and short stories about the plants, wildlife and riding. He takes great pics too. We highly recommend this trip, guide and area. Enjoy !!

This was the first activity we did after arriving in Alaska. Even though it was cold and drizzling and we are not expert mountain bikers, it was awesome. Our guide Maggie was the best. She was patient and had fun facts about living in Alaska . We had so much fun!
