This was hands-down the perfect tour for Mt. Rainier National Park in my opinion.
We were a small group of 8 people and our tour guide Marty created a fun, personable atmosphere. Of course it's a bit of a drive, but he provided plenty of interesting facts along the way and generally was very knowledgeable about the area, park, history and nature.

We had a breakfast stop (included!) in a little park in small town surrounded bybeautiful scenery.
Later, in the national park, Marty actually found a gorgeous spot where we could have lunch away from the crowds, just our little group. The food was delicious and an actually proper & healthy meal with a cute table setting - exceeded my expectation for sure.

Most important tho, there was actually plenty of time for a nice hike in park for breathtaking views of Mt Rainier. We were blessed with a sunny day and amazing scenery. We also got to see some waterfalls on the way back which allowed for some more small hikes. You actually get to enjoy the outdoors on this tour which was wonderful.

It was the perfect way to get to experience Mt Rainier on a day trip and I would fully recommend this tour if you're a nature lover.

We had such a lovely day with our tour guide Marjorie and the other people in our group. My boyfriend and I decided to go on a last minute trip to Seattle to celebrate my birthday. With last minute planning, we were able to book the Mt. Rainier National Park day trip with Evergreen Escapes, and I'm so glad we did. Pick up was right on time from our hotel and then we made some other stops to get other members of the group. Marjorie was so friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful, and answered all of our various questions throughout the day. She let us know the plan of events for the day and was clear on how much time we had at each spot.

We had multiple stops on our trip, all manageable shorter hikes. We had breakfast by a lake, which included coffee/tea/hot chocolate with some scones and banana bread. Then we were on our way to other stops, walking through the forest and seeing waterfalls. Our lunch stop was so beautiful, with amazing vistas where we could see Mt Rainier too. Also, we loved the food - two different chicken options, tofu, pasta salad, and also a fruit salad. Then the best surprise ever, Marjorie brought out a cake (and candle!) to celebrate my birthday! I was SO surprised. It was also a delicious berry cake. We weren't able to eat it all so made friends with a party next to us to share. After lunch, we went on the final, longer hike of the day to see amazing wildflowers and of course, Mt Rainier. Marjorie let us know the amount of time we had for the hike, in case some of the group went faster or slower, you could plan accordingly and go at your own pace.

After the last hike, there was another sweet treat (yum!) and then the drive back to Seattle. I highly recommend this tour if you're looking for a smaller group and day trip from Seattle to get into nature, with delicious food/snacks/beverages all planned for you!

I went on this tour with my friend in early October and we were treated to amazing weather for the experience.

We were picked up from the hotel around 07:20 by Evan who was extremely informative and friendly. We then spent the next hour going around the rest of Seattle picking up the remaining members of the group before setting off on the 1 hour 30 minute journey to Mount Rainier.

Once at Mount Rainier we did a 4 mile hike which was not too challenging but was a great way to see Mount Rainier a little closer. We were also fortunate to see both a Black Bear and Mountain Goats!

We then had a delicious lunch, followed by a trip to Silver Falls, which again was a great spot before we headed back to Seattle.

Overall, the tour is designed for those of all fitness so if you are after a long, challenging hike up Mount Rainier look elsewhere but if you are after a leisurely hike with a great guide, I would strongly recommend this trip.

Thanks again Evan!

We had an amazing time exploring mt rainier with our wonderful guide, Evan! He was very knowledgeable + supplied wonderful botany & geology facts along the way. He ensured we had a great time, blazing our snow shoe trail through fresh snow. We felt like we were walking around in a snow globe as huge snow flakes continued to fall during our hike. We would highly recommend booking this trip- the provided lunch was excellent and we felt like we were able to experience the most out of mt rainier in the time allowed! Evergreen escapes will be the top of our list for any future tours in the area!

From beginning to end, this was a fabulous day.
We were collected by our tour guide, Owen, a very bright, smart, friendly young man who welcomed us onto the minibus at our pick up location. Two other guests were already on board, who introduced themselves and then we collected the remaining participants from nearby hotels. Pleasant conversation flowed during the journey to Mount Rainier.
During the ride, Owen gave us lots of interesting information and was very personable. At our first stop, he put together a breakfast table with hot drinks and cakes by a beautiful lake.
When we reached our destination, part way up the volcano, the view was utterly breathtaking. We all collected snacks and warm jackets and set off on a hike up the mountain, discovering wildlife as we went along. After our descent, we returned to the bus to be driven to another very attractive location for a delicious lunch. There was another guided walk through ancient woodlands, where we learned about the fascinating local fauna and flora.
We had one final stop and another short walk to see the twin firs before we set off back to Seattle. It was such a stunning location, we could have enjoyed staying in the area for weeks!
Getting so close to Mount Rainier was an absolute treat and a big highlight of our trip to the Pacific North West but what really made this day special was the great atmosphere that Owen created. He was so kind, cheerful and helpful throughout the day. He was also an excellent driver and we felt very safe having him at the wheel, especially on some of the more precipitous roads!
We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this trip to anybody visiting the area.

Our naturalist guide, Sarah, did a great job of leading us safely around a variety of breathtaking vistas, from mountain overlooks to a powerful, cascading waterfall and a peaceful lake trail. This is our second trip with Evergreen Escapes, and we found the company to be well organized and attentive to group comfort on both trips. Each time, the naturalist guides were highly educated professionals who shared their knowledge enthusiastically, creating a warm, welcoming experience.

I was a bit anxious about doing this trip alone cause I’m on the introverted side but it went extremely well and everyone else in the group was very nice to me. The park is spectacular! Mount Rainier is probably the single prettiest place I’ve ever been to. It was like being inside of a postcard, we were very fortunate to have perfect weather that day. This trip is worth every penny. Lunch was also really good too.

The terrain can be steep at times (especially the first hike from Paradise Inn on the Skyline Trail I think, I struggled with that one) so I strongly recommend wearing hiking shoes. I wore runner’s shoes and they weren’t exactly built for the job. The tour does offer hiking poles to borrow, so take advantage of them.

As for my guide Marjorie, she was not only a great source of knowledge but a very sweet person to talk to which meant a lot and helped make me feel at home. I think I was super tired and might’ve forgotten to say one last thank you for all the hard work she did that day when I was dropped off at my hotel so if she reads this, I’d like to just say thanks again for an incredible experience!

The tour was an excellent way to spend a Sunday evening in July. The 10 plus hours was not as long as one would think but the long drives to the park, the greenery that was on each side of the road, and the tour operators openness in sharing, and encouraging us to share, our stories helped opened up conversation and made us more of a social group.

The views were stunning. The snow capped magnificent mountain never seemed to leave us regardless of where we were. The hikes were good, easy with some challenge and allowed us to feel the atmosphere, and the day.

The food I have to say was delicious. It exceeded my expectations and at the end, and on way home, I was full.

I highly recommend this tour.

Had such a great experience thanks to Marty! Even though higher elevations were closed off due to weather conditions, our tour guide did an amazing job accommodating the closure and found other paths for us to take, all of which were beautiful. Marty's expertise shined through when he gave thorough explanations of the history of surrounding towns, the impacts of climate change, and many fun botanical facts throughout the hikes. He made sure to be inclusive of the whole tour group, talking to everyone and keeping the activities comfortable for people of all fitness levels (people were allowed to head back to the lodges if they wanted to).

Snowshoes and hiking poles are available to everyone on the tour, but the few extra hiking shoes and rain jackets were super helpful for me and city friends (it definitely saved us from freezing our feet off). The breakfast (fresh coffee, fruit, bread) and lunch provided were also incredibly tasty, nutritious, and filling! Also, as someone who is sensitive to motion sickness, his driving was smooth and great.

Also, Evergreen Escape's customer service was much appreciated -- I forgot to book my ticket when my friends did, so I had to call about availability when the tour sold out online. The friendly and professional representatives were able to accommodate me quickly.

A wonderful day. We chose this tour because we had planned to do Olympic and Mt Rainier National Parks as part of a bigger trip to Seattle. While Olympic was relatively easy to navigate and plan for, Rainier proved a bit trickier. During the planning process, I learned that there would still be feet upon feet of snow on the ground at Rainier in May, which made me unsure of which areas of the park would be open and how to safely navigate the park. This tour took away all of that stress and allowed me to look forward to our time at Rainier with no worries. The 5 stars all go to our guide, Sean, who was incredible and very accommodating. As one of our party left the van at the end of the tour he commented to Sean: “you were made for this.” And I have to agree! Sean took us on ~5 hikes/walks, with one being a snowshoe hike up the mountain. He offered the group two options for snowshoeing, one flat/easier and another uphill. When my asthma was giving me some trouble up the hill my fear was that I would hold the group back needing to go slower, but Sean was encouraging and patient. He assured me that I could go at my own pace if needed, and provided the perfect amount of breaks and support for the entire group of varying skill levels to make it up the hill successfully. He is also incredibly knowledgeable and even made the long drives entertaining with ice breakers and riddles. He deserves 6 stars! Gear and plenty of delicious food were provided throughout the day, as promised. Snowshoeing for the first time was a very fun adventure! I felt very safe and confident learning this new skill with Sean as our guide. The mountain and park were beautiful.

My only negative: the van is a bit cramped for a 2+ hour car ride. I am 5’10” (though I will concede I have long legs) and my knees were uncomfortably pressed against the seat in front of me for the duration with no room for movement. Unsure if this can be improved upon given the need for a smaller van to maneuver the mountain. This is my only suggestion, as everything else was truly fantastic. I would highly recommend this adventure to all! Thank you Sean and Evergreen for a great last day in the PNW!

Hi Sarah, Thanks for sharing your experience! We are so glad to hear our guide was able to take away all the worry to allow you to really enjoy your time in the park. As you mentioned, the smaller van is needed to maneuver around the area, but you are welcome to switch seats during your trip. This will also help get different perspectives of the park while you're touring! Cheers, DJ | Evergreen Escapes
