James, our tour guide with Customized Tours, was just fabulous throughout the entire trip from the moment we stepped into the shuttle to the very end of the day! He was very personable, took time to remember our names, and when we had fantastic weather in the mountain, he quickly made his mind up to allow us to hit some of the best views and hikes in order for us to have such an exquisite visit to Mt Rainier. The sun was out, the mountain views were clear and unobstructed, and he gave us great suggestions for hikes and the best place to have blackberry pie to finish up the day. Fantastic customer service to say the least and very knowledgeable about the area and mountain. Huge history fan!! Absolutely loved our day!

Our guide was Cory, he was amazing! He offered to take picture of all the couples and families and was very knowledgeable about the area and was quite funny. He was also really good at picking up on who needed a bit more help during our hikes and who was more able/willing to do some more difficult hiking. Unfortunately due to weather, the main gate was closed for safety, so we had to do a little rethinking. Luckily our group was up for some flexibility and adventure so we were able to still have a great time. It was Cory’s first time doing the tour with the gate closed and he adapted super well to still give us all an amazing time.

Thank you so much for your review of Cory and understanding that the weather and gate closure was out of our control. We are glad your group was still able to have a great time.

My husband and I were visiting Seattle for the first time and decided to do this Trip to Mt Rainier. From the moment we were picked up at the hotel it started off great and ended great. Our tour guide Lucas was friendly, informative and entertaining and he did whatever he could to make our trip/tour an unforgettable one. We hiked to so many scenic vistas, but really the entire hike was breathtaking. Despite some mentioned areas in the tour being inaccessible due to the weather conditions, Lucas did his best and succeeded. He had great information on the local wildlife and one of the most interesting ones was about the giant land beavers. We coincidentally were on tour with another family that was from San Antonio Texas like us and that just made it even better. Overall we would 100% recommend this trip and highly highly, highly recommend you request Lucas. My husband and I want to come back in the summer and for sure we will be requesting Lucas if we do. This trip is one of our most memorable ones.

Had a great time at Mt Rainier. Luckily it was a very clear day, The tour guide said that it’s a 20 percent chance it’s totally clear like it was.

Lucas, the tour guide , was very friendly and a great sense of humor. Even everyone on the bus was taken part with his sense of humor. He made more stops then he said he normally does because the views were outstanding

We just took this tour May 25, 2022. We were picked up at our downtown hotel by our guide, Joel. This was really a great experience for our family of four (my wife and I, and two teenage kids)! Once all passengers were picked up, Joel explained the overview of the day. We stopped about 1/2 way to the park at a grocery store so that everyone could buy provisions (lunch) for the day and make necessary pit stops, etc. Joel was an excellent guide, pointing out many interesting facts and history throughout the day. He was also really great about adjusting the day’s itinerary to maximize the guests experiences according to weather conditions, mountain viewing opportunities, etc. as he explained at the beginning of the day, he’s your friend for the day, your photographer, anything you need. He even went to the effort of buying cupcakes for everyone to celebrate one of the guest’s birthdays. (Nice touch!) I can’t say enough good things about this tour and our guide, Joel. He packed a ton into one day and it was one of the highlights of our trip to the Pacific Northwest and Alaska! The park was stunning!

The guide was very knowledgeable about the technical details of the geological story of Mt Rainier, which he conveyed amid amusing short stories and jokes. He certainly was able to impart how it feels to be a local, and to instigate the curiosity of his listeners. I would totally recommend it. Just check the weather well ahead of your trip, if you want to have a glimpse of the mountain.

My boyfriend and I booked took this tour on a Friday. The pickup was easy and convenient and the company was communicative about the timing. Lucas was our tour guide/driver and did a great job! He made sure to check in with everyone often in regards to restroom needs, food, type of activities. He was also super knowledgeable of the different areas of the park and really helped in adjusting our tour based on weather and park road closures. He did his best to get us a view of Mt Rainier considering the overcast day, and seeing the waterfalls, rivers, and hearing the history of not only the park but of the towns along the way was totally worth it. Thanks Lucas!

Joe was a fantastic tour guide and very thorough! He really takes the time to make the trip informative and entertaining as well. He even tried his best to make the trip entertaining for a difficult young child that was part of the group. Joe really tried his best to make the tour memorable and amazing. A beautiful tour and I was lucky the mountain was out that day but it was quite hot. I got lots of lovely pictures. I would say this is accessible for a lot of people but the “easy” trails are not as easy as expected. A bit steep and rocky uneven trail for several of us. In CA easy trails are pretty level or gentle incline and trails are in good repair. Not the case in WA. Still, the hikes were short and scenery spectacular. I would suggest going on a week day if possible, Sunday if weekend due to crowds in Summer. The trailhead and visitor center were extremely crowded and no place to sit and eat in shade. We were dropped off there for a 90 minute lunch and hike time. I would suggest that on hot busy days they choose a different picnic spot, then go to trailhead, or explain to guests that lunch would be on air conditioned bus, then drop for hike, or visiting Paradise Lodge and visitor center. No air conditioning at Visitor center or lodge. They probably don’t need it most days. Tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. The bus was very nice. Met nice people. Hotel pick up was appreciated. Masks were optional.

Thank you for your feedback. Good point of what Washingtonians may consider "easy" may not be for others coming from different states. We are glad you did enjoy the trip. Truly during the tourist season weekend or weekday we are busy and crowds are unavoidable. We appreciate you touring with us!

We had Cory as our tour guide. He was informative and had a great sense of humor that was able to keep the tour group engaged and interested in learning about Mount Rainier. I saw some amazing sights and had a great time doing it. Cory took us to many additional stops up and down the mountain to show us sights I did not know about. He even provided our tour group with cookies! I greatly enjoyed my tour and would recommend Cory to anyone interested in a guided tour to Mount Rainier.
