I highly recommend the Pike Place Market early-access food tour in order to experience the market waking up and coming alive. Our guide, LUCKY, made the tour extremely enjoyable with his engaging personality, humor, and knowledge of the market history, vendors, and traditions. We enjoyed a well paced tour that left us feeling enthused to explore further!

Our tour guide Lucky was the best! We had four adults and 7 kids (including a toddler) and we appreciated that he was cognizant of the younger audience and trying to speak to educational and interesting things he thought would pique their interest. Without a tour, if you’re unfamiliar with the area, you just show up and fall in a few lines and kind of just follow the herd and explore.
On this tour, Lucky gives you so much interesting history on Pike Place Market and Washington itself, it brings so much to the experience. Highly recommend this yummy tour of truffles, clam chowder, pastries, yogurt, salmon and fried cod. Just delicious!

I have visited the market on several visits but have always just done a self-guided tour. I am so glad we were finally able to fit this tour into our schedule as our guide, Will (along with assistance from Jerry), provided a great history of the market along with current updates and improvements. Getting to the market right when it opens really helps avoid the crushing crowds that you experience by mid-morning. The tastings were a nice variety and I'm glad we, my husband and I, only had coffee before the tour and reserved plenty of stomach space. Keep in mind that you can always revisit the food stalls you liked best or were most intrigued by on your tour. We appreciated that Will and Jerry took the time to sit with us after the tour to answer questions and offer additional suggestions for sightseeing and dining in Seattle. If possible, do a Pike Place Market tour early in your visit so you have time to explore their suggestions and take advantage of the discounts you get as a tour participate (we sure did!).

This tour was not worth the money and certainly not worth a tip. You're far better off just reading about the market and going early and exploring on your own. It's a pretty friendly place and all the samples we got were available to anyone wandering the market. Our guide was Chip, who focused on the touristy aspects of the market, relayed false information on the tour, and walked extremely slowly to fill the time. He really seemed like he had just read the tourist guide the night before. The food aspect of it was incredibly disappointing. There is no need to come hungry unless your lunch consists of tea, 1/8 cookie, a quarter size peice of smoked salmon, four peanut m&m sized chocolates, and a 4oz cup of chowder.

Hi Joe - just wanted to say thanks for talking to us, and again we are sorry the tour was a disappointment. In addition to the food you mention above, you should have received at least 4 other tastings. The itinerary includes 8+ vendor stops with a variety of small bites, all arranged and paid for in advance. The only tasting we do not pay for is the tea from Market Spice, which they offer to all customers as a free sample. It is possible to obtain free samples from some of the other market vendors, but they are not the same and less substantial than what is provided on our tour. In the description of our tour we mention the samples add up to a 'light meal', but if you don't eat anything before the tour you might still be hungry after. As we discussed, we have refunded you in full to compensate for your bad experience. Hope you will give us a chance to provide a better tour for you next time you visit. Regards, Leslie Operations Show Me Seattle Tours

I really enjoyed trying different foods and getting overview of Pike Place. It was also helpful it was 9am tour at less crowded time as I think if I did it on my own - I would have been overwhelmed and not enjoyed it. Lucky was helpful and gave a good background history on some of the eateries you would have never known standing in line.

Lucky gave us an excellent tour. He was very knowledgeable about everything related to the market, but also the area and knew historical information too. He was thorough in his presentation and helped us to know where we had been so we could get the “lay of the land” for our own exploration after the tour. We also received discounts from the businesses we visited, as well as a few others. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone. I’m so glad we booked it and didn’t just “stumble” around on our own. The tour also included multiple food tastings, some come hungry!

Lucky did a great job of telling us the history of Seattle and the market while enjoying food along the tour. It was the perfect length and we enjoyed the variety of food. Come hungry as sample sizes are a nice size. We went to the early tour at 9 which left of the day to enjoy the city

This was the perfect way to get a literal and figurative taste of Pike Place market. Lucky was an awesome guide and all the food we tried was excellent. The market was already pretty crowded by the end of the tour, so I highly recommend doing this one since it starts early before the crowds.

Glad we picked this tour! Lucky gave a well-paced informative tour of the market. Covered the history and geography of the market with a nice range of tastings, all handled smoothly as the place came to life & shoppers etc arrived. Extra credit in my book for humor and taking the esoteric questions.

So, my husband was less than enthused about going on this tour and isn't easily impressed but even he is raving about how great Matt was. This man was so funny and enthusiastic about his city and the importance of Pike Place Market. The history, insight, and meaning he gave to us was just phenomenal. I loved, loved, loved everything I learned. There was good food, to be sure, but I was much more impacted by what I learned about PPM. To say that I highly recommend this tour is an understatement. We went to the 10am tour on a busy Sunday, but he made it easy to follow along and make sure we heard everything. So freakin' good!!!

We're so excited our Food and Cultural tour was able to show you parts unknown! Matt truly knows how to give an excellent performance - his enthusiasm and love for Pike Place almost goes unrivaled. Hopefully we can get you on another Savor Seattle tour with another exuberant guide in the future! Thank you for taking the time to review!
