          wildlife viewing at its best
There are just too many awesome things about this tour to list. The ferry ride had beautiful views all the way to Haines. When we got there we easily found Chad and began our adventure. We saw eagles, mountain goats, a sea lion and a bear. It was amazing! Thanks Rainbow Glacier Adventures for making all 10 of us happy!

Awesome views, amazing guide and local/historical information.
It was an amazing tour with our incredible guide Christine, I would give it 20 stars if I could. She was very knowledgeable about everything, and is a professional photographer and gave us tips and tricks on how to better work our camera and iPhone settings for awesome timelapse and looping photos. I would highly recommend you do this!!! Note: My photos dont do justice to what youre about to experience, its amazing!

          Worth it!!!
Our trip was excellent!! Niki was so sweet and informative. Our family of four loved exploring the suspension bridge area and taking pictures of the gorgeous waterfalls along the way. Niki gave is so much information about the wildlife of the area, the history of Skagway, and a locals insider info on the life of the town. I would highly recommend this trip with Rainbow Glacier!

Great excursion and great tour guide. Lots of beautiful scenery going up and back down to Skagway. Wish we had more time to spend at the bridge.

Easy drive up to summit. Stopped for pictures several times and enjoyed Pat our driver sharing his knowledge of the area.

Fantastic shore excursion with amazing guides
We had a big family group. Christine and Pat were fantastic. They are both professional photographers and were gracious and accommodating. They even taught us a few cool tricks on how to take great photos on our iPhones. Christine took a great photo of our whole family on the suspension bridge and even gave us a few extra photos that were amazing. Her photos will be an awesome addition to my vacation album. I would definitely recommend booking directly through the company rather than through the cruise line. You can’t go wrong with either Pat or Christine as your guides. The weather was pretty wet and foggy in Skagway, but as we got closer to the suspension bridge, the views were amazing!

Excellent Small Group Skagway Photography Tour
We chose this tour off our cruise ship stop because of its small size (private van), hoping to see most of the scenic stops along the Klondike Highway into Canada. We were not disappointed, stopping at scenic stops, waterfalls, and when encountered, wild life. Highlights were a bear sighting and eagle’s nest. Pat was a very personable guide and photo coach, with very good knowledge of the area, and suggested the best opportunities for photos. There were nine on the tour. This was our fourth cruise to Alaska so we were familiar with and had done the more popular excursions like the White Pass and Yukon Railway. For those looking for something different, this tour of 3 hours operated by a local company for a very reasonable price is recommend.

          Awesome guide and excursion!
Our guide Christine was so wonderful!! She was extremely knowledgeable about the area and gave us lots of good information. She stopped for us to take photos and knew the best places for that. I had to have a walker with me because of a back problem, and she was very accommodating and kind. Christine made the whole experience very special and fun!!

          Better than the train!
Wonderful trip with our driver guide, Holden. Our family group of 7 (including ages 5, 16, and up to 74) were the only passengers so this turned into a private tour! We had previously taken the White Mountain train trip, but this was much better. We made a number of photo stops and really got to absorb the scenery. The younger ones were happy to get a chance to stretch. We observed a mama moose and her young one and got some great shots. Do hesitate, book it!

Favorite tour on our Alaska cruise
Had an amazing trip with Christine. We saw bears, a baby bald eagle, mountain goats, amazing lakes with gorgeous colors, waterfalls, plus the Suspension Bridge! Was really nice to be in a smallish van, that Christine could easily pull off the road to view the different sites. Her coworkers were letting her know of sites they saw further down the road, so it was like we had multiple guides. Would highly recommend this tour!!

The your guide spoke far too fast forr but,she really knew what to do with the bear
We saw a mountain goat through binoculars and that was it, until someone spotted a bear raiding a rubbish bin, and that was the highlight of the whole trip for me.

Beautiful, fun, and educational - highly recommend!
Aside from the lovely views, the tour was incredibly fun and educational, as we learned not only how to get the most out of our cameras, but also some of the geography, geology, and history of Alaska! I've never considered myself nearly the photographer that my husband and daughter are (still don't), but Pat have me a new perspective on capturing photographs, and may have created a monster of a new shutterbug!

Best vacation for our entire family
Our travel guide was terrific. Her name is Christine Rogers. She was a great communicator, well informed and has a charming outgoing personality. There 13 in our group of our children and grandchildren had amazing experience learning all that Christine shared with us and seeing the beauty of Alaska and Canada. Christine in addition to being a good driver and tour guide was an excellent photographer.

Skagway was absolutely incredible, and we had the best local tour guide, Nikki to show us around and to take some amazing photos. Nikki after learning that we forgot our passports (Don't forget..lol), told us not to worry at all and that she promised to still make our trip memorable. She did just that! We hit many sights in Skagway and she shared historical facts about the city which was great. On our trip, we photographed wildlife and saw incredible views--from a large waterfall, bear cave, mountains and a great view of glaciers. She also provided a lot of geological information about the landscape. 10 out of 10 with Nikki! Thank you so much.

We took a photography tour with Christine from Rainbow Glacier Adventures. Christine was not only a great guide to gorgeous spots around Skagway, but she was also very good at helping us get great personal photos, both helping us take better photos and taking some of us herself. She was the best part of a great excursion. Many thanks.

Excellent experience, knowledgable tour guide, secret spots, surprise viewings. We scored some close looks at the eagles, salmon, insects, and especially the bears. You should see how fast a 350 pound fisherman runs when the bear wants his perch along the stream! Our guide got us into perfect position to get our shots and totally safe exit. Enjoyed a nice discussion about the local plants too.
A quick tour of downtown Hanes was included, free of charge!
I think we took like 5000 pictures each. Highly recommend the tour. Nice to work with a local resident and to get away from the cruising crowd.

Thanks for this great review. It sounds like you had an awesome experience and were able to get the shots you were after. I like that you mentioned the "safe exit" because safety is the most important aspect of any RGA tour.

Dale was a fantastic guide. Picked us up early off the Zuiderdam and he made sure to take us to some incredible places before the busloads of tourists got there meaning we never had to wait to take photos. He showed us some easy ways to use our cameras and even our iPhones to take some amazing photographs. I would definitely recommend Dale as a guide and would even do this tour again as it was both educational and enjoyable.

Pat was an excellent guide, asking what we’d like to see, and then taking us there! He spotted 2 bald eagles way up high in the trees, then used his own zoom equipment so we could have a look. He also showed me a very simple iPhone technique to create a long exposure shot of a waterfall. Amazing!

It was a foggy day so we didn’t try the White pass. Christine was fabulous filling us in on local history as we traveled to different sites. The iPhone photo trick she showed us at the waterfall was worth the price of the excursion! We got some great photos and definitely gained a respect for the miners who carried their packs up the golden stairway. I highly recommend this tour!

We had a fantastic photography tour starting in Skagway and working up north to the Yukon. The weather seemed to change with every mile, sometimes overcast, sometimes raining, sometimes snowy, and sometimes sunny. With each of the weather conditions, the amazing mountains presented different, but breathtaking, views. We were able to photograph Dall sheep high up on a mountain (be sure to have a long lens) and a brown bear (close to the van).

Our guide, Pat, was very knowledgeable about the area, its geography and history, the animals, and the flora. He even answered our questions about the practical aspects of bringing our travel trailer to Alaska next year.

This sounds like a great excursion. It is true that the weather often changes as you head into the mountains- most of our Skagway tours depart from sea level and quickly make their way up into the mountains. Pat is a first-class guide and it sounds like he was able to show you some wildlife on this tour. Did he tell you he drives all the way to Skagway from Florida each summer? So he is filled with practical information about practical info about travel to and from Alaska. Please come see us in Haines when you drive north next summer. There are different photographic opportunities there and we also offer rafting trips through the Chilkat Bald Eagle Preserve.

We did the small group Skagway Photo Safari. Our guide, Dale, found some great out of the way spots where we were able to capture some wonderful wildlife photos as well as stunning scenery shots. We also learned some helpful tips on how to take better photos. He was pretty entertaining as well.
Best excursion on our trip! Thanks, Dale.

I took this photo tour after landing with the ms Noordam cruise ship. We went to the other side of the Skagway fjord to the old Dyea site. Our guide, Dale, knew where the bald eagles hung out and we lucked out with two sitting up in a tree as we arrived. And then we saw two more over in the river and another two - all three breeding pairs in the area. Absolutely incredible photos! And the rest of the tour wasn't inconsequential - the Golden Staircase entrance to the Chillcoot Trail and a visit to the old town of Dyea. A great afternoon and great photos to remember it by.

She was so knowledgeable and kind and took us to some amazing spots where I got to see nature up close (and took lots of photos) we also saw a bear on the side of the road!
