      AMAZING kayaking trip
The kayaking was amazing! Lots of great views and wildlife! Otters 🦦 swimming and popping up around the kayaks. Margot was our guide and we couldn’t have asked for a better one! She was friendly, informative and lots of fun! HIGHLY recommend this trip!

      Amazing - Full "Bingo Card"
Hats off to the entire crew - Captain Joshua, Andrew and tour guides Margo and Carter. What an incredible experience! Within 5 minutes of leaving the dock we saw a bald head eagle and the list of wildlife kept growing for the rest of the day. Puffins, loons, Seals, Sea Lion, Sea Otters, Porpoises, Orca and Humpback whale just to name a few (Bingo Card). An extremely attentive and safety-conscious Captain and crew. Despite the rain and weather, we got what we expected and then some (a section of the glacier fell off while we were having lunch). Highly recommend. Thank you for your skill and your knowledge.

      Amazing Day on the Water!
It was a picture perfect day on the Ascension with Capt. Brent, deckhand Emma and super guides Jen and Tasha. On the way out to Aialik Bay we encountered sea otters, sea lions, puffins, humpbacks and a rare sighting of three Fin whales. We had a very enthusiastic group of paddlers and had plenty of time to enjoy our soup on a beach before enjoying our lunch on the pickup beach. The guides were very attentive, knowledgeable about the area and wildlife and had a passion for what they were doing. Capt. Brent went out of his way to find us orcas on the way back - there was a guest onboard who had waited 60 years to see one. Thanks for a memorable day!!

Fantastic day kayaking to Holgate Glacier!
Fantastic day boating and kayaking to Holgate Glacier! Zeke and Carter were phenomenal guides and felt like part of the family by the end of the day. Capt Brent and 1st Mate Andrew were fantastic as well. Everyone was knowledgeable about the area and were enthusiastic about what they do. Highly recommend a tour with Sunny Cove Sea Kayaking!

      Glacier Kayaking in Alaska
My husband and I were part of the Gondwana Grizzlies & Glaciers AlaskaTour Group and this was part of the itinerary. The Sunny Cove Kayaking Guides (Bailey & Margot) and boat crew were outstanding. They were excited to have us there and obviously loved what they do! They were all very knowledgeable about the Kenai Fjords and about the wildlife that we saw during our kayaking tour. We began with a boat ride toward the glacier and a safety talk about how to steer and control the kayak. On the boat ride over, a pod of Orcas swam toward our boat and looked up at us as they passed by! Everyone, including the guides and crew, were excited by the sighting. It made the experience that much more amazing and fun! While kayaking, we saw beautiful landscape, a bear, marine wildlife and of course, the huge glacier! We lunched on a beach and then the boat came to pick our group up again at the end of the excursion. It was a beautiful day and we had the pleasure of spending it with the Sunny Cove Kayaking crew!

      Best kayaking excursion day ever!
This was the most exciting and best full day excursion we’ve been on! We kayaked out to Holgate Glacier and witnessed it calving, humpback whales, sea otters, porpoises, sea lions, seals, puffins and the list goes on. The staff was incredibly knowledgeable about water wildlife, birds, glaciers and especially our safety on the boat and in the kayaks. They served delicious snacks & they provided lunch on a beach near the glacier. We would definitely do this again. This was a GREAT day for my husband and me!

Amazing Kenai Fjords Wildlife Cruise and Glacier Kayak tour
I had a great time doing the Kenai Fjords Wildlife Cruise and Glacier Kayak tour with my partner. The boat crew was great and super knowledgeable. The guides Kris and Zeke were experienced, knowledgeable about the local environment and wildlife, and incredibly friendly and engaging. We saw a ton of wildlife to include humpback whales, doll porpoises, puffins, otters and sea lions. The kayaking to the glacier was fun and could be done by a variety of ability levels. Overall would highly recommend as a tour to do when in Seward!

      Excellent Experience
We did the Glacier Kayaking Tour with Sunny Cove Kayaking and it delivered in every way. Starting with check in Dom and Emma were so friendly and welcoming. After boarding the boat we met and got acquainted with Brent (captain) and Andrew (deck hand) then the adventure began. I was slightly concerned about sea sickness but the boat they have is very stable and I had no issues. We starting seeing wildlife immediately and it was clear how knowledgeable the staff is about the wildlife and how much they like to share it with others. Once arriving to the launching point for the Kayaks Dom gave great instruction leaving everyone feeling confident as we set off for the paddle. As we made our way toward the glacier I knew this trip was going to be a core memory. We were fortunate with good weather and excellent guides , transportation was smooth , lunch was great and we had a wonderful experience. I would highly recommend.

      Magical!
Our family of five plus Grandma splurged on the Kenai Fjords Glacier Kayak & Wildlife Cruise combo. It was a a perfect experience, from start to finish. Guides Jen and Anika, Captain Brett and deckhand Andrew were all experienced, enthusiastic, capable, informative, and fun. It is evident they are ecological stewards who are passionate about this unique habitat and the creatures that reside here. With the exception of one other tour boat, our party had the Holgate Arm all to ourselves during the kayaking portion. The rainy conditions made for calm waters in the bay. We were able to kayak as close to the glacier as possible and pose for pictures. Jen and Anika had warm soup ready for us at the end. Then we all enjoyed our lunch from within the heated cabin of the Ascension. We maxed out the wildlife BINGO card. We saw Dall sheep (including some young kids), harbor seals, sea otters, sea lions, purple & orange sea stars, multiple bull orcas, a humpback mama & baby, bald eagles, puffins, black oyster catchers, and many other bird species. The most intimate encounters were a pair of Dall's porpoises playing in the wake of the boat, a pod of orcas that swam within 25 feet of the boat, and a curious sea lion that surfaced right beside my kayak. I cannot overstate this experience. It is absolutely phenomenal. If you have any hesitation about the price or value of this excursion, know it is worth every penny. Book today!

      Wildlife Cruise and Kayaking
We had an awesome time on the 8 hour Wildlife Cruise and Kayaking Tour. The staff is top-notch. Anika, Margot, Andrew, and Captain Brent are all very knowledgeable and engaging. We couldn't have asked for a better day. We never felt rushed and the staff made sure everyone had a good time. The small group was so nice. This tour was worth every penny.

      The quintessential Alaska day trip
The kenai fjords national park full day trip was wonderful! The whole process is smooth, captain Brett and deckhand Andrew are friendly, informative and skilled. The boat is comfortable and we landed easily, then we were in the capable hands of Margot and Anika, our guides. They were fun and helpful and answered everyone’s questions. We saw tons of birds, 2 whales, seals and sea lions in addition to the beautiful glaciers! The guides took the time to help us with pictures and lunch and snacks and beverages were just right.

A wonderful day on resurrection bay!
A wonderful experience from the shuttle ride with Sara to the thorough instructions before we left. Maggie was great about telling us in advance about paddling in different spots and was flexible when I needed to adjust my layers. The hike is interesting and she gave us some historical insights as well as botanical bonus information! Our return trip was beautiful also .

Sign up for this tour and immerse yourself in Alaska instead of taking a lame, sterile cruise ship.
My son and I had an excellent time on the kayak trip, seeing many sea otters, eagles, and some seals. The scenery was fantastic! Our guides, Sarah and Margot, went above and beyond to make the trip interesting and fun. The hike to the fort was not difficult and well worth the effort. Both ladies were very knowledgeable on the history of the site and the woodland and sea life along the way.

      Amazing kayak tour; Family friendly
Fantastic experience! We had THE BEST time on our kayaking tour. Our guides, Tasha, Maggie, and Bailey were amazing: all very positive, patient, knowledgeable, and FUN! Our family of 11, with kids ranging in age from 10-17, kayaked out to Tonsiha Point. We were thrilled to see otters along the way. The hike through the forest was fun as well and we all enjoyed the picnic on the beach. Our guides were entertaining and even challenged our kids to a beach race, which they loved. Would absolutely recommend!

Evening kayak at Fox Island with Margot and Tasha
Absolutely wonderful paddle with Margot and Tasha!!! Equipment was nice! After Margot and Tasha provided a safety briefing, everyone felt safe and comfortable. We entered the water and immediately felt one with nature!! We saw otters, humbacks, a harbor seal, jelly fish, bald eagles and red and purple sea stars!!! Hermit thrushes serenaded us above the gentle surge and sweep of the ocean on the rocks. The cliffside, rocky beaches, and mountain views of Fox Island are spectacular! And it's always lovely when guides exhibit such natural enthusiasm and passion. Thank you Margot and Tasha! It was a magical and superb experience!

My parents, one of their friends, and I all went sea kayaking and it was incredible. Danny and Lola are extremely knowledgeable individuals and were able to assist me in getting comfortable with the kayak as I had only lake kayaked before. It was a rare beautiful sunny day in Alaska which made the waves a little tougher but we all were able to handle it well. Danny and Lola gave us a lot of information about the area and we felt safe in their care. We had a great time with both guides and would highly recommend these two and this trip to our friends. It was beautiful! Thank you for being open during covid!! Be safe!!

Thank you for sharing your experience with Danny and Lola! We're so excited we're able to run trips, with a bit of modifications to meet CDC guidelines. Luckily, it's pretty easy to physically distance in a kayak. 😉 Thanks for joining us, and we're glad to hear you had such a special experience. During a recent extended family vacation, we spent a morning kayaking with Liz and Bug. They were wonderful with first time young kayakers and older novice kayakers also. The water of Resurrection Bay was smooth and it was so enjoyable. It was a great way to mix sight seeing with some physical activity.

    Sunny Cove Kayaking in Seward
A Mother and 12 year old Son set off for one of the best days of our 2 week Alaska visit. First off we got dressed up and given safety instructions. Then straight into the water and more easy instructions how to paddle it was love at first stroke. The gentle added to this amazing trip’s atmosphere with a little fog thrown in for effect. About 40 mins of gentle costing along the coastline we pulled our kayaks up onto the black pebbled beach. Off to see the “Rain Forest” quiet together with nature away from the noise seeing it for real. “Ahhhhh look” I shouted “these salmon are spawning”. Low and behold iff all the places and with split precision timing I was merited to watch nature at its quickest. In the blink of an eye
Female lay’s her eggs and Male swims over and deposits his milky white sperm. A true dance of heroic nature as he had to fight off other eagerly awaiting Salmon.
The trip through the rain forest was fun while walking on a raised path made from wood.
The return back was equally exciting while spotting water dwelling creatures lounging in the unspoiled area of Seward.
    A magnificent trip highly recommended.
For anyone with a sense of adventure and a love of nature.

Wow, what a detailed description of our tours in Resurrection Bay. You must have visited between mid-July and late-August if you were able to see spawning salmon in Tonsina Creek. What a magical experience for you and your son. Thank you for the lovely review, and we hope to see you again! Stephanie C. Millane - Owner stephanie@sunnycove.com 907.224.4426

We did a double date down Resurrection Bay when we were in Seward this Labor Day 2020 and even though the weather was looking bleak we still powered through and showed up for our kayaking reservation. Cara and Ashley were our guides that day and along with the rest of the team, they took care of us and made us have a great time despite the rain and wind. Cara and Ashley were incredibly knowledgeable about the bay and the flora and fauna. We saw seals, sea otters, tons of eagles, and loads of jellyfish and salmon. The route was very doable for beginners and entertaining for more advanced kayakers. One of the guys in the larger group even had his professional camera out and was taking pictures throughout the trip. When we were coming back from our stop at the creek, there were some people fishing that warned they had just seen a bear super close to us. Cara and Ashley remained calm and alert and thankfully we were safe and never saw the bear (even though it would have been cool to see it from afar :D). I highly recommend this package. You'll get your money's worth. And if you go with Cara and Ashley you'll for sure get the best experience!

Kayaking with Sunny Cove guides was one of the highlights on our Alaskan vacation. My wife and I are in our mid 60’s and this was only our third kayak experience, but the guides gave us excellent instructions and the kayaks were stable so we felt very comfortable. Our two daughters in their early thirties absolutely loved it. Kayaking is a workout and you need to be in decent shape but the joys of being in the beautiful blue water among snow covered mountains and being visited by sea otters and a sea lion made the outing worth it. We did the morning trip since it was listed as easy but the wind that morning was steady and the waves were choppy. Even so, it was fun and a great trip. I would recommend this company any day. Booking was easy, the bus ride to the private beach was short and comfortable with a friendly driver and the guides were excellent.

Thank you topperlaw for the great review! We love morning paddles, and they are usually really calm, but sometimes Mother Nature does what she does. 😁 Nevertheless, you're right, paddling here is so beautiful and I'm glad you had a wonderful day with your family. 😍 Stephanie C. My two teens and I spent a few hours padding with Sunny Cove. They did a great job leading us around the bay, explaining safety considerations and the guides and our driver were all professional and personable, made us feel welcome and safe out on the water. It was amazing to be at water-level in our kayaks, such beautiful terrain. Highly recommended!

I have mixed feelings about this activity. We booked the half day trip for 11:00am; 2 couples, no kayak experience. There was another couple and single that had some experience; The guides Margot and Tasha were very nice, seemed to be knowledgeable about kayaking. The bay was a bit rough, we got beached and so did the other inexperienced couple who was with us, and a person reading this is probably saying to themselves ‘don’t blame them for your inexperience,’ and I don’t but this was not an ideal experience. The guide instruction during this time was confusing as she kept telling us turn but then when trying to make that maneuver she would say no, paddle straight. Ok, Start over, We finally all launched. We tried to stay close to our guides, the waves were pushing us into her kayak and towards the shore and after maybe 30 min on the water, one of the guides decided to cancel the tour because of “bay conditions”; That’s fine, don’t need to drown on vacation; but I feel like it was no rougher than when we started, so then why launch? And if it was our lack of experience combined with the bay, they should have asked us to reschedule or offered us a partial refund/credit to the store or a local shop/restaurant. I felt like these two guides had too much to pay attention to us, the bay, and the other kayakers taking off, and didn’t have the skills to regroup when things don’t go as planned. Had the water had been calm, the tour would have went off without a hitch, but when it started falling apart with the launch, the whole thing went downhill.

Hi Kimberly, Thank you for your honest feedback. I'm sorry you did not enjoy your tour with us, which is not typical for us or our guides. From what I understand after a conversation with your guides, a few people in the group were new to ruddered kayaks, and in combination with the wind were having a hard time keeping their kayaks moving safely in rougher water conditions. And yes, the tour very likely would have been fine with inexperienced kayakers had it been a calm day. Unfortunately, we had afternoon onshore winds, and once we were on the water it became clear to the guides the combination of new kayakers and winds was becoming unsafe. When we make safety decisions, we consider the weather conditions in conjunction with the capabilities and comfort level of the participants. I was on the beach that day and observed your trip return, and the conditions were nearing our safety parameters. The guide's choice to return was within our guidelines, and from my experience, the correct choice. These are well-trained, and capable guides operating in cold-water conditions in Alaska, and making conservative choices is exactly what I want them to do. Yes, the kayaking was cut short for safety reasons, and Tasha tried to extend the experience with a beach walk, which is also within our options to help make the experience feel more complete when we adjust our route due to conditions. Following the walk all of the participants of the tour were dropped off at our office, and had the opportunity to come in to discuss options because of the changes, however, no one in your party stopped by. We would have gladly offered an opportunity to make sure you were happy with your experience with us. I also reached out by email but did not get a response. I would be happy to chat with you about your experience, and you can reach me at stephanie@sunnycove.com, or 1.907.224.4426. For those of you reading, if you adventure with us, and your experience isn't exactly (or more) than what you were hoping for, please take the time to contact me directly for a resolution, rather than through a third-party resource. I am always willing to hear constructive feedback and to help develop better processes to continue to give the best possible experience to our visitors. It's what we do, and who we are. Stephanie C. As local Alaskans looking for a safe little adventure that would help support a local business during COVID, we could not be happier with Sunny Cove and how they are operating during such a challenging time. We ultimately supported them because of their clear, concise, transparent information on covid safety measures. Beyond that, it was such a great experience and our guide was awesome, highly recommend for any of their tour options! We'll send folks their way in the future, and if we don't bit the bullet on getting our own kayaks, we'll be back for sure. Thanks guys, for doing the right thing while trying to keep your operation going - we know how hard it is and it hasn't gone unnoticed by us.

Coming in from out of state, we were looking for something fun but also safe in the midst of this pandemic - Sunny Cove's Resurrection Bay kayaking was just that. Honestly couldn't have asked for a better experience - our guide Liz was phenomenal, told us all about the area's history, wildlife, geography, and lots of cool factoids. She was kind, easygoing, patient with newbie kayakers like us, and took COVID-19 seriously, as well. The Bay is one of the most beautiful spots you can imagine, and we even saw some seals, an eagle's nest, and what we are pretty sure was a porpoise. Excellent time, will return again when we go back to Seward!

We went out on a tour with Russ and Demi and had the most amazing experience we could ever imagine.. They were well versed in everything we saw and were able to answer all our questions. We got to see a fin whale which was the most exciting thing of the day. This company is five star certainly worth the money for the tour. It is extremely Personalized so that each person was able to ask questions And get the answer by either both or one of our guys. The food was amazing and there was plenty of including some hot soup. Just be sure to wear layers and bring water to have them although they provided us with oar gloves. It was a spectacular day vacation very special because of these Great gods.

Hi Kathy R, Finding a Fin Whale is incredible! We don't see them too often, and they are HUGE (2nd largest mammal on earth huge!) Thank you so much for this lovely review of our Kenai Fjords Wildlife Cruise & Glacier Kayak Combo. Super good advice too, layers are great since the temperature can vary so much between being on the boat in the wind and in the kayak near a glacier. Water is good too, we'll have some on the boat, but bringing your own bottle is important. We hope the rest of your visit to Alaska was incredible too! 😍🐳🦅 Stephanie C.
