- B9866KVjeffk0 contributionsAwesome experienceWe had a great time today on the aialk Bay kayak tour. Ron was an excellent guide. Noone in our group had sea kayak experience and he was a great teacher. Ron also told us a lot about the area which was very helpful. We also got extremely lucky with amazing weather. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone looking to explore the kenai fjords by kayakWritten September 1, 2024
- elenavH1775LW0 contributionsFull day Aialik Bay/ Holgate Glacier KayakingSuch an awesome trip with Caley and Ron! They were super fun, knowledgeable, and great at making the experience safe and as comfortable as possible event through the rainier afternoon (they even made us hot cocoa and coffee on the beach!). We did a ~11 hour trip and it flew by. The boat rides were beautiful and paddling along the fjord is an incredible experience. Would absolutely recommend!Written August 29, 2024
- martacK1953UJ0 contributionsGreat Kayak Trip to Humpy Cove with Ron and Cayley! We took a kayak trip, there were 5 in our family, to Humpy Cove. Although it was raining, we had a great time. Our guides, Ron and Cayley, were excellent in their job. Ron was great on telling us the geological and nature facts of that area. We got to see lots of different kinds of jellyfish, Humpy salmon (where the cove got its name), an otter, and starfish. Since it was raining we got to paddle thru the waterfalls from the cliffs overhead. It was a great time and we will be back.Written August 29, 2024
- 743anyac0 contributionsGreat tourWe had an awesome tour of humpy cove guided by Ron and Caley! Got to paddle into a salmon run. Beautiful views. Borrowed neoprene bootiesWritten August 28, 2024
- ItsmeCourtneyWhee9700 contributionsFelt like fishing with friends! We went fishing on the Fox Willy in the middle of August, great boat to fish from. Captain Paul and Clay were THE BEST!! We’ve been on many charters over the years and they delivered! They got us on the fish, created a really exciting atmosphere and were super fun to fish with! What a great team, it was like fishing with friends! 10/10 will be back for sure, until next time guys!Written August 26, 2024
- Loustac0 contributionsGreat coffee & food. Friendly people and beautiful views!Miller’s Landing was our favorite for coffee, food, and entertainment while in Seward. The main building is nostalgic. The breakfast was great! We loved the fish, burger, and roast beef panini for dinner. We even used their laundromat. We enjoyed their back deck in the evening, with a beer, watching the fishing charters come in. Unbelievable views. Great service and friendly people. They have it all!Written August 23, 2024
- A4374VLmarvins0 contributionsExcellent kayaking trip but late return2/5 for water taxi logistics 5/5 for the kayaking tour and our guide, Isaac! We took the Captain's Choice Kayaking Tour and kayaked around Aialik Glacier with Isaac as our guide. Isaac had an impressive knowledge of the landscape and wildlife, and kept us well fed and entertained through the trip! I was worried about having enough food during the trip, but we got solid breakfast burritos, lunch sandwiches, and a very large sack of snacks. We ended up seeing seals, otters, sea stars, a bald eagle, and some porpoises on the boat ride home! Isaac was an excellent guide and the kayaking tour itself was five stars. The main issue was a late pickup for the water taxi back to Miller's landing. We were on the water kayaking from about 8am until past 5pm. We were all pretty beat after a long day, but we learned that we wouldn't be picked up until 8pm! We ended up waiting on the beach for about two hours with light drizzle and a lot of bugs, and we finally made it back to Miller's Landing at almost 10pm. At this point, all the restaurants in town are closed, and Miller's Landing made no offers of food despite having a kitchen. Based on the other reviews, this seems like a common occurrence so be prepared for a long wait for the boat and a missed dinner.Written August 21, 2024
- 454christophert0 contributionsHalf-Day Fishing FunMy son and I recently took a half-day fishing trip from Miller’s Landing and we had a great experience. Our trip was the day after some flooding rains so we didn’t know what to expect. Fortunately we were able to easily limit out on rockfish, and we were able to add a small salmon to our catch making for some fine meals for our family and friends. The workers at Miller’s Landing are friendly and professional. I’d like to give an extra shout out to our deckhand Sebastian and the girls working at the booking desk. You all demonstrate exemplary customer service skills and the landing is lucky to have you. On a final note, I can’t help but mentioning the fact that the “Americano” that I ordered (2x) from the cafe was an amazing. I’m a snob when it comes to coffee and I’m not exaggerating when I say it was one of the best cups I’ve ever had. My only regret was not booking a full-day fishing trip. That will certainly change on our next visit.Written August 20, 2024
- mich1eal0 contributionsHighlight of the tripRon was an amazing guide and apparently a great photographer too! We did the "Captain's Choice" option and got our moneys worth, it lasted all day! Be ready for an adventure and pack snacks!Written August 19, 2024
- 381coric0 contributionsGlacier Kayaking TourRon was an outstanding guide on our glacier kayaking trip! He was well-prepared, incredibly knowledgeable, and took amazing photos of our adventure. His enthusiasm for the local birdlife made the experience even more special, sharing his passion with us at every turn. Highly recommend Ron if you're looking for a guide who truly loves what he does!Written August 18, 2024
- R255MJbenc0 contributionsTrip of a lifetime!Best trip ever! My brother and I decided to sign up for the two night Resurrection Bay trip, little did we know what this experience would hold! We were lucky enough to have absolutely beautiful weather conditions and a lovely kayak guide named Ron. Ron brought a variety of food options, from snack bags to coffee/teas, wonderful pasta dinners, s'mores, etc., he was quite the chef! With a great sense of humor and intimate knowledge of our natural world, it was fun to learn about Resurrection Bay's geologic landscapes, wildlife and gain some insight on weather prediction! From hiking to WW2 forts and waterfalls, seeing "smacks" of jellyfish, black bears, puffins, river otters, sea otters, and even a close encounter with a humpback whale and overly curious porcupine, it was an incredible experience that I'll remember for years to come! Ron also brought a camera along the trip and was quick to send us all his amazing photos, feel free to take a look at some below!Written August 15, 2024
- jackcS4014AF0 contributionsAn Unbelievable Adventure!!Had an amazing time on a 3 day kayaking trip all around resurrection bay! Ron was an excellent guide, he made sure my brother and I saw everything that crossed our path, made amazing meals, and was a blast to be around! There were always options for when and where to hike, camp, and explore that allowed us to navigate in a way that felt open ended. Ron’s presence gave us both a sense of security and a lot of good laughs. Our trip was a fantastic experience that I can see myself sharing with friends for years to comeWritten August 15, 2024
- Cassieopia0 contributionsOnce-in-a-lifetime tripWe did the all-day sea kayak trip to Aialik Glacier in mid-August. Jaw-dropping scenery and abundant wildlife. Make sure to dress for the weather (there is no bad weather, only bad gear) and be prepared for long periods of paddling - after paddling across the bay through fog, wind, and rain we earned our pizza dinner for sure. It was more than worth it to be in such a pristine setting and hearing the glacier creak and boom and seeing it calve. Shout out to guide Ryan who shared his knowledge of the geology and animals of the area and helped me gain an even greater appreciation of this special area. Also shout out to Captain Chance who brought us safely back through rough weather with obvious skill. Bucket-list level trip for sure.Written August 13, 2024
- Devin S0 contributionsAwesome Kayaking Half Day Resurrection BayWe took our second half day resurrection bay kayak trip with Millers landing this year. Same trip and another wonderful different adventure. This time we started at fox island and worked our way back to humpy cove and stopped at the waterfall hike along the way. Just outside the waterfall trail entrance Ryan put on an amazing demonstration of flying fishing skills and caught a pink salmon for the crowd of kayakers. It was fun just watching the fly fishing. Josh (we shared two guides on this trip) shared his stories and insights with a smooth comic delivery. And made the trip fun and informative. You can tell these guys love their job and love nature. The highlight of Josh’s day was when a baby seal swam up to his kayak and started playing with his kayak’s rudder. The pup swam around us checking us out for quite some time while the pups mom poked her head up nearby. Weather was perfect. Scenery beautiful. Saw sea otters on the water taxi ride across the bay. 5mile total kayaking. Water was smooth in the coves and just a little motion in the open as we crossed the bay at the end. Started and 9 and finished kayaking at 2pm.Written August 7, 2024
- stacys5810 contributionsPerfect Day at Miller's LandingWe did the Bridal Veil Waterfall Paddle and it was AMAZING! There were so many sea otters! It was absolutely beautiful and we loved the waterfall! Our guide Ron was the best guide EVER! He was fun and extremely knowledgeable about everything from the birds to the geography and history of the area. He made us feel safe and he entertained us! Make sure to request him as your guide! We highly recommend this kayak adventure! The 1/2 day trip early in the morning worked out perfectly and we had plenty of time left in the day to have more adventures and enjoy Miller's Landing!Written August 6, 2024

The trip was easy to book, the information ML provided made planning easy, and the entire excursion was really well-organized. The boathouse was really pleasant and food was pretty good, too.
The real star of our trip, however, was our guide Ryan. It wasn't just that he had a terrific knowledge base about the area and was an avid storyteller- he seemed to have a real love of the waters, woods, and mountains around Seward. It's rare to find a true outdoors-man with a sense of humor and narrative, but Ryan was definitely one. Book a trip with ML and ask for Ryan as your guide- you won't regret it.

We had the best time with Caley. She was a pro from the time we pushed the kayaks off shore, through the beautiful hike to the WW2 fort, and right up until the time we landed back at Miller’s Landing. She made sure we all knew what we were doing and was very informative through the trip. It was my first time on a kayak trip and everything was made to be very comfortable. The equipment was good, the views were amazing, and the weather was awesome. I’d recommend this trip to anyone looking for a challenge and a great kayak trip.

Spent 7 days in Alaska and this was the highlight of our trip. Scenery is always fantastic in Alaska, but having a great tour guide like Cayley (pretty sure that’s how she spelled her name, but sorry if not) really made our day great. She put our amateur kayaking skills minds at ease, and her knowledge of the area really enhanced the experience. If you think you can trust a vacationing middle aged dude from Fargo, take my advice and book your day of adventure here. Thanks again Cayley!

If you’re looking for a sign from the universe on whether or not to do this trip, this is it! We had an amazing time, and honestly couldn’t believe how incredible the trip was; it blew our expectations out of the water. Ron Marsh was our kayaking and hiking guide for the day. Not only was he extremely knowledgeable about the local wildlife and Alaska state history, but he’s a funny guy and had us laughing the entire time. Regarding the wildlife, we saw a seal, a few sea lions, some harbor porpoises, an otter and a few cool kinds of birds including bald eagles and a stellar jay. The WW2 fort was cool to see as well (and a bit spooky too), and Ron was able to share some cool facts about the installation. The views from the site were also stunning (be sure to ask Ron about the prospector spooning the porcupine, he’d love to tell you all about it! Haha). In regards to the trip itself, it was tough physically, but honestly it was the perfect level of challenging. We weren’t fighting for our lives by the end, but we were pretty worn out, but hey - that’s what we wanted. I could rave on and on about how cool the trip was. To sum it up, I’ll just say ‘Do it!’. It’s 100% worth it!

Tiring, but very fulfilling combination of hiking and kayaking. The views were incredible throughout, but looking out over the bay from the fort was breathtaking! Amelia was a great guide; she is super knowledgeable about the area and its history, and even repaired our kayak when the rudder broke. I'd highly recommend this to anyone visiting Seward.

A large family group (from teen to slightly older than 65) kayaked and hiked to the WW2 fort and wow, what a great trip. We were all happy though to take the water taxi back instead of kayak. We did that version last year and it was a bit tough.

What an amazing experience! We had a rough start to our trip to Alaska (canceled flight) that threw our schedule off, but the team at Millers Landing was very understanding and flexible with rebooting. Our guide Catie was AWESOME! She did an excellent job prepping our family for the outing and shared her knowledge of the area and the history of Ft. McGilvray. We had a great time - thank you!

I thoroughly enjoyed the kayak/hike guided by Ron. I was in awe the entire trip - beautiful scenery and an active day spent on the water and land. Ron was funny, knowledgeable, and did a great job responding to our group's needs. We saw numerous bald eagles, sea otters, and even a humpback whale while kayaking! I'd definitely do this tour again.
