About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- mellywells20 contributionsGreat introduction to UmagBoth the organization behind the tour (Toni) and our guide (Silvia) were excellent. Silvia has a great knowledge of the history of Umag and gave us a real insight into the recent history of Istria and what sets Istrians apart. The food and wine showcased some of the best locally sourced produce and we were introduced to 3 local restaurants (all very good). This was a high quality experience and a great introduction to Umag. There are many things that we‘ll be buying from local producers and not from the supermarket while we’re here.Written June 7, 2022
- Domi_Sch_940 contributionsWalking tour with foodThe main topic of the company are walking tours through the old town, so the food tour is what I would say a walking tour with stops in different stops in restaurants, witch doesn't mean that I didn’t like the tour, but it was different from what I accepted to be.Written August 11, 2020
- manofkent720 contributionsFabulous Food Tour!We were lucky to have our guide Anamarija all to ourselves for the tour, the old town of Porec is beautiful and Anamarija had a wonderful knowledge of the towns history. The food and wine was really good and a excellent selection of what Croatia can offer, loved the truffle pasta! Make sure you arrive with a empty stomach, the portions are very generous! Wish we had had the tour earlier in our holiday so we could have gone back to the restaurants again.Written July 24, 2019
- Natalie T0 contributionsIstrian Cuisine with the Pula's Amphitheatre as a BackdropWe did this small-group tour as a day trip from Rovinj, not only to highlight authentic Istrian cuisine but to see Pula's sights, including the amazing Arena. Maja, our wonderful and knowledgeable tour guide combined both in a great day's tour. Stopping at several restaurants and eateries, we were able to sample the abundant, various dishes, so much so, I remember not being able to finish the dessert at the final point (a travesty, I know). There were lovely pairings of wine at each place, and we ended buying the recommended organically produced sparkling moscato at the final bar (it did not last long, btw :)) I very much recommend this tour, to get a glimpse into the cuisine and sights of Pula. You'll have a great time, I am sure.Written September 8, 2018
- Thomas I0 contributionsGreat combination of food tasting and sightseeingGreat tour! Good combination of sightseeing and food experience! People from the agency were very helpful and our guide Maja was fantastic! Apart from the main sightseeing attractions(Pula IS quite interesting due to its past!), we visited three restaurants of which the first two offered us a starter and main dish (we got quite full at the end) and the last was offered more of a wine+cheese tasting occasion accompanied with dessert. Why not five stars? Unfortunately it was veeery hot on that day (we had to move indoors with AC instead of cosy street terrace) and some key persons were absent(due to pregnancy etc). Providing a complete but balanced overall food experience in many places in a row is not easy but Istria Gourmet Food Tours did a fairy good job here. I highly recommend anyone visiting Pula to join the tour!Written August 11, 2018
- donnacopsey0 contributionsPula CroatiaWe spent a wonderful day with our tour guide, Maja. We learned so much about the Pula Arena, Romans, and much more! The food was fabulous, and typical from the area. The Croatian people are friendly, the cities are clean and beautiful. We walked away from the tour feeling like we had made a new friend. We will be using Maja as a tour guide again for another beautiful Croatia city.Written July 8, 2018
- Jeanny890 contributionsGreat food tourWe initially booked the self-guided food tour in Porec. A day before the tour, the owner countacted us and told us he had a guide to join us for the same price. Anamarija did the tour with us and came to the 3 different locations. They also accomodated well for my partner who is vegetarian. We really enjoyed the different foods and wine to go with it. It's a good food tour!Written April 2, 2018
- 896jadew0 contributionsHighly recommend!Found this company on Google, and booked for our trip to Pula. Maja was a lovely tour guide, we didn't even feel like we were on a tour as it was just the two of us + she was so friendly. Great customer service before we even booked too! And all the food was delicious.Written August 29, 2017
