About
Home to historic mansions, hauntingly beautiful cemeteries and giant oak trees, this district is the romance of New Orleans. During walks between stops, hear about culture, traditions, architecture and have history fun! (PLEASE NOTE: currently, the cemetery is closed for repairs- we'll still be able to see into the cemetery and discuss the history. I supplement the walking tour to see some of the mansions and historic homes the Garden District is known for). Then it's on to the food at 3 stops- a neighborhood favorite for a taste of our Italian-Creole roots, hear Cajun history through sausage and finish with the Creole history of chicory over cafe au lait and filled beignets! All curated food, cocktails/beer, taxes & tip are included in your ticket so you can sit back and relax! Will accommodate allergies/dietary restrictions if told in advance. Menu & food stops are subject to availability. Other things to note: Tour is all weather, wear comfy walking shoes & bring a face mask.

This tour is great if you are interested in trying a few new places to eat in the Garden District and walking around. It is very light on the history portion and more about experiencing the neighborhood. I do think that the description should include the fact that you do spend the majority of the time at sitting at a few eateries waiting for your food.

This trip is not worth $90 per person!!! I wouldn’t pay $5. The guide was late and everything was unprepared, we had to wait for everything in the heat as the 3 places we visited were not ready.
For lunch we had hotdogs! We also had to wait a long time to be served and in several of occasions we had to get everything ourselves.
No Hotdogs in New Orleans!!!

Sorry to hear you didn't enjoy the experience or the food and our stops were not accommodating and the history and culture tour beforehand didn't seem worthwhile- staffing in restaurants has been difficult post-Covid and no matter how much I prepare, things happen beyond my control. I don't recall any occasion where you'd have to "get things yourself" besides maybe your 'choose your own soda' if you ordered a soda- all venues are full service and I help them and run food when needed to make sure guests are accommodated, so I just don't understand or recall that condition in any way I could improve on it. Just to be clear to others reading your review, the menu is Cajun sausage in several flavors and multiple toppings, not corner vendor hot dogs.

We have been to New Orleans MANY times and have done all the tourist things as well as a few tours and walked around some on our own. This trip we wanted to walk around and eat like a local. Michelle was a friendly and knowledgeable local! She shared some low key restaurants and picked delicious foods and yummy local beers and cocktails! She is very adaptable and can recommend sites and tastes for whatever you are looking to see and know in NOLA. Make sure you take at least one tour and go somewhere in the city with her!

The photo I am sharing is stuffed beignets from The Vintage on Magazine St. Trust me skip Cafe Du Monde and go here!

We had a little hiccup in the beginning then after that it was great! Michelle did an awesome job explaining the Lafayette cemetery and the wonderful architecture of the garden district. Her food choices were also wonderful! She even gave us great suggestions of the parks we should visit for our bike ride the next day. We were able to see a side of NOLA that we never would have seen without her help. Highly suggest this tour and company.

The guide, Michele, was knowledgeable and down to earth. She took us to restaurants that were off the beaten path, but were popular in the neighborhood. These were places we would have never visited on a typical trip to New Orleans, but the food was really really very good. Who would think a duck hot dog with blackberry jam and coleslaw would be sooo very good. Thanks Michelle for showing us that part of your great city!

Michelle is incredibly knowledgeable about how the colonists, religion, sugar, disease, and politics have shaped the culinary landscape of the area. Spending 3 hours picking her brain about history and food was more informative than any book. She talks fast and my aging FIL found it difficult to hear and keep up. I liked learning about the architecture of the area as well as the history of the places we visited. We definitely tried new food items.
