    Eye Opening Experience
We were picked up in front of our nearest hotel and rode out to a plantation district while listening to local NOLA stories from Bryan - a master story teller. Went to Whitney plantation which focused on the slave experience. We've been to Auschwitz in Poland. This felt similar. A profound education and I'm glad my teens got to experience this. Go. After, we went to a restaurant/ café, gift shop, and on to the bayous and airboats. Amazing!! Breathtaking scenery and gators. We even got to feed them from the boat! The local guide was the real deal. Ghost tours got nothing on these guys! Loved it. 5 stars.

    Excellent tour of NOLA
Our city tour with Gary was amazing and just what we needed to cool off for the afternoon and get great insight into NOLA. His tip on live music on Frenchmen Street gave us an area to explore that night which was the highlight of our trip.

    Would book again!
The tour started off great because our ride arrived right on time. Brian was our driver and the entire drive to the plantation was superb. He made the time very enjoyable with his humor, and stories. The plantation tour was sobering yet enjoyable. We went on an airboat ride through Ragin Cajuns and this was terrific as well. Our tour guide was a great host through the bayou, and very knowledgeable about the animal life, terrain and operation of the boat. All in all, a great experience. Would book again!

An emotional experience that more white Americans should see
This is an emotional experience plantation and an excellent way to learn more about the roots of the black experience in America, racism and the cruel, dehumanization of enslaved people. I'm white and also have been to the relatively new African-American History Museum in DC. The exhibits there are very moving and educational, but the Whitney tour puts you on the ground and in front of exhibits that tell the story in a living way of what it was like to be slave at a sugar cane plantation. The self-guided tour app worked well for us.

The Whitney Plantation Tour Exceeded My Expectations
Excellent!! So moving and informative. I would recommend everyone take this plantation tour to get a better sense of what life was like for the enslaved peoples.

BRIAN is the BEST bus driver!!!!
Brian was our bus driver for Crescent City Tours!!!!!! I cannot say enough wonderful things about him!!! He was the absolute BEST!!! He was full of history and even pointed out areas along the way used as filming locations for major movies. Our 2 tours were great but he made the experience the BEST! He is funny too! LOVED BRIAN!!!!

    Great experiences! Must do!
Our tour guide through Crescent City Tours was phenomenal - Brian provided some great stories and insight on the way to and from the tour sites. His laughter was infectious! The Whitney Plantation is a must see. It is an eye opening experience to the past. The air boat tours through Ragin Cajun Airboat Tours was another great time - our tour guide/boat driver provided an awesome look at the swamp and we saw plenty of gators up close - even got to hold a baby one.

    This person will disrespect you
Do not go with this guy! The driver is also the owner and is completely disrespectful and even makes open sexual passes at the women on the bus, this is bordering on sexual harassment. Owner/driver lacks professionalism and respect. I'll explain further. We booked the whitney plantation tour and airboat package. After being picked up about an hour into the drive he informed us that the second portion, the airboat tour was being canceled and we would receive a partial refund. Curious I asked "partial refund?" In the blink of an eye the owner pulled over the van and said you can have your full refund get out... we where in the middle of no where . I asked are you kicking me out for asking what a partial refund is and be said you can get out eight now and figure it out. This was all done publicly in a condescending, aggressive and humiliating tone. I won't go into it entirely but you get the idea. This individual being is not concerned with his clients well being in anyway and will disrespect you. It gets worse, forced into doing a partial tour we arrived at the whitney plantation. Expecting to be guided through the plantation the owner/driver led us into the building and got us the audio devices for the self guided tour. Then he left us. If we wanted a guided tour we would have to pay an additional amount. This tour is not worth the cost, the owner is gouging prices and taking advantage of unknowing tourists. Rent an uber, rent a vehicle and get yourself out to the plantations on your own. All plantation can be visited in a day and you will pay less and have a better time than having to be at the mercy of this horrible person.

    Powerful
Where do I begin? This was such a powerful experience. I'm not fond of plantation tours that either 1) don't talk much about the slaves that built and maintained the grounds or 2) act as if life for the slaves was somehow good, and they were happy because they had "kind masters" as if anyone who is keeping you against your will could be kind. This plantation tour was neither. This told real stories of the slaves that lived here, and the horrors they faced. This tour is self guided with audio. They give you an audio device and you can either choose headphones or listen on the speaker. There are "stations" so to speak that are numbered 1-14, and the audio guide tells stories about each as you observe the areas they are speaking on. I loved this format because I feel like there is always so much information, in an effort to take as much in as possible, I often miss a lot in trying not to stay there all day, but the audio guide made sure you got a full picture of what life was like for the slaves there. I would give 10 stars if I could. If you're in NOLA, you should absolutely make this a part of your trip. If you are not a person of color, this should not make you feel guilty, but instead make you want to be an active part of the resistance to ensure that the current oppression and injustices (slavery by a different name) do not continue.

    Take this Tour
This is an important and historical presentation of the lives of enslaved people who occupied the plantation from the 18th. Everyone should see the site and take the tour by informed and compassionate guides.

    A Must See & Experience!
the Whitney Plantation tour was one that touches the soul.... another instance of man's inhumanity to man... wonderfully preserved and presented.. definitely a must see...... The Air Boat tour was just as Brian the driver promised us... an exceptional experience with an exceptional guide (former gator hunter) .. If there were a 10 star rating available, this tour would rate it... and thank you Brian for all the insight and suggestions... definitely a man who loves his job!

    Self Paced Tour
I wish there were two options of reviewing the bus ride/tour bus driver and the actual plantation tour separately. Our tour bus driver was awesome! 5 put of 5! She gave us so much local info and was hilarious. The drive was approximately an hour or just under. The Whitney plantation itself was nice, although closer to a 3 out of 5. We recieved a headset and speaker to do a self paced tour. This wasn't bad, but definitely didn't give the ins and outs of a person doing the tour would. I also found that the tour stories that were pre-recorded were broadened to tell stories of plantations and enslaved people in general versus specific information about the plantation itself. (There definitely were details about the plantation, but in general) Paying around $75 each, it felt a little pricey for what we got.

The tour was very disorganized. I signed up for the Oak Alley plantation tour and was expecting to get a guided house tour with free time to walk around the grounds. Instead, the driver/guide dropped us off at the Whitney Plantation with no directions and we only had a bathroom break at Oak Alley.

Super disappointed.

I’m sorry but let me get this straight. We have 26 people on the bus and you are the only one to get dropped off at wrong tour? We make a stop at Whitney, Laura and Oak Alley and the driver makes the announcement once entering the grounds so if you signed up for Oak Alley why would you get off at Whitney? And then blame us. 33 passenger bus 26 people and you are the only one at the wrong tour and it’s our fault. I’m also disappointed you didn’t get your tour. But I’m also confused . We are a five star rated company across any platform that sells our tours and our customer service is exceptional, so do you have any suggestions so that this doesn’t happen again? What could we have done better or differently? You can reach me personally at 888-424-8687.. I really wish your experience would have turned out better.

Brian was an absolute delight. His knowledge and love of the city was apparent. The plantation was beautiful and I felt like we had plenty of time to walk around and see the exhibits. Would definitely recommend.

My family and I had such a great time on this tour! Brian was amazing and entertained us with fun stories and interesting facts about New Orleans and Louisiana on the drive to the plantation. Tickets for the house exhibition were included and then we had more than enough time to explore the plantation grounds on our own before pick up. Would absolutely recommend using Crescent City Tours when visiting New Orleans!

So glad I chose this plantation, it was so hard to decide. Gorgeous scenery and Jackson was a great tour guide. As usual, our driver Brian did not disappoint. He was as entertaining as ever. I wouldn't book a tour with anyone else in the NOLA area. Sending all our love from Michigan, Leroy!!

Loved this tour! Our guide (Dionne) and was super nice, funny, and informative! She had a trainee with her and still made sure we all had a wonderful experience! Loved that the transportation to and from the plantation was included, as it was super convient! The only thing I would say I wasn’t a fan of was how short of a time we had to experience the plantation! We arrived at Oak Alley at 9:30 am and had to be back on the bus by 11:30 am! I felt as if our time there was a little rushed. Overall a great experience! (Bring bug repellent)

Brian our tour guide driver made the experience to be honest. From the moment he picked us up to the time he stopped us back the bus was filled with laughter. He is super knowledgeable on everything and anything on the drive to Oak Alley Plantation and after the tour he will answer any question you had in regards to the tour. This has been one of my greatest experiences. ❤️
