If you take this tour, make sure you get Toast as a guide. This dude is a metal head, rocker dude who is extremely informative, a really great story-teller, and is highly entertaining. He is a true believer in all things spirits, ghosts etc. and will relate a whole lot of his personal experiences involving his paranormal encounters while being a tour guide for over 5 years. You'll learn so much about New Orleans history and culture. I would definitely recommend pre-gaming this tour with a tour of the First St Louis cemetery that is located across the street from the visitor center, where all of the local tour buses start and finish from. This tour will prepare you for the information overload that you'll inevitably receive on Toast's Dead of Night Haunts Bus tour.

We’ve done this tour twice now- once as part of a “staycation” date night and then again for our daughter’s birthday party. (6 teen girls on a haunted tour was hilarious and they LOVED it.) I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting our fun city and to anyone local who wants to do something different for a date night or older child party. It’s a fun way to see the city in a different way and do something besides a typical date night.
Our first tour guide was Cassidy and our second was Toast. Both were fantastic and knowledgeable on so many things. Both took time to answer questions and explain.

Brandon was an excellent tour guide and provided humor along with the gruesome details of the city's past in order to lighten the mood. One of the best tours I've taken. Highly recommend taking alot of photos. The only downside was the loud, obnoxious, and inconsiderate passengers, who were historians, who spoke so loudly it was difficult to hear Brandon at times both on and off the bus. Brandon was great.

Tour was a bit hokey with an overly dramatic bus driver who was very animated - definitely a bit of a showman - with lots of screaming and chanting and showing photos and videos on his iPad.

The tour had some interesting features but was overpriced for the theatrical show that it was. I am ok with a tour of this type, but please advise upfront that is what the tour is going to be. State that it is a theatrical-type tour with limited factual history/exploration of the sites.

Thank you for your review. We have several different guides, and each has his or her own way of presenting the material. Most of our tour participants do enjoy the presentation and give the company 5 Star Reviews.

Jay was our guide. I booked this tour on a solo trip and had a great time! Our guide knew so much about the places we stopped and had scary/sad stories to share. I was even able to cross “eat beignets” off of my to do list at one of the stops at a local spot (cash only). Especially spooking since it was a night tour. Would recommend this tour for everyone except small children, only because we were on and off of the bus and it might be too much with a small child.

Lame and not interesting. Stupid stops and bearly saw a cemetery. Don't do it. They say 4 stops...one was a Cafe for a bathroom and another a random road where you could bearly see a cemetery behind a fence. Tour guide was not interesting or believable. Not recommended at all.

Thank you for your review. This tour sells out almost every night and gets 5 Star reviews from just about everyone. I would like to know what date you took the tour and who you had as a guide because this tour actually goes INTO multiple cemeteries. The cafe stop is so that people can use the restroom if needed and grab a snack if desired on a 2 hour tour. I'm sorry you didn't enjoy it but almost everyone else absolutely loves it.

This was a total waste of money. We took the 9:30pm tour and the highlight was seeing the alligator in the bay at the Voodoo Bridge. The storyteller was knowledgeable of the city’s paranormal activity, but wasn’t convincing. We wish we would have skipped this tour and come during the daytime and utilized the hop on hop off bus. This way, we would have gotten to see the city. Reading other reviews, guide Toast may have made a better experience for me and my family of 8.

Thank you for your review. You say that your tour guide was knowledgeable, but not convincing. It would seem to me that if you agree that your guide was knowledgeable about the subject matter, then you would have also been convinced about his or her knowledge on the information being explained. If your interest was getting to 'see the city', then you obviously should have taken a City Tour. Our tour is a paranormal tour by bus around certain areas of New Orleans outside of the French Quarter.

Very, very disappointing.

The 'haunted' sites were actually the scene of some pretty horrible events, unrelated to anything supernatural (such as Katrina sites and the collapsing of the hard rock hotel). This was in pretty poor taste and often had absolutely nothing to do with what the tour was supposed to cover.

We expected some silly, tongue in cheek ghost stories but this was just a basic bus ride with stops made along the way at cemeteries to justify the price tag. The guide told us nothing of interest about the cemeteries and just let us wander with no guidance or interesting facts.

The guide, Brandon, made false statements several times that a quick google search dispelled (mostly relating to the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina) and was more interested in flirting with every girl under 35 on the bus in painfully obvious fashion rather than actually putting in much effort. The pamphlet we picked up to help choose the tour gave a really misleading interpretation of what the tour would be.

Just a really poor experience overall for $50 and I would avoid this, there's likely other tours far better in New Orleans

Thank you for your review. However, I must take issue with a few of your comments. From what you stated, you were clearly expecting something along the lines of a Halloween Spook House. Haunted History Tours is exactly what we advertise it to be. - A HAUNTED 'HISTORY' Tour. And while you might find the stories disturbing, they are very real. Violent death and strong emotion contribute to hauntings and paranormal activity. And New Orleans had had no shortage of it. The fact that we DO get to visit our historical cemeteries at night is indeed a bonus. Very few tour companies are allowed entrance in the evening. All tour guides must pass a test on the city's history and each guide has his or her own way of presenting the material. I'm not sure what false statements you might be accusing the guide of, but at the end of the day, what we are selling is entertainment. And most every review that we receive on this tour is 5 Stars, and the tour sells out every night. And I would venture to say that what you perceive as flirtatious behavior on the part of the guide was nothing more than his attempt to be friendly and welcoming to the tour guests. But again, thank you for your review.

Brandon was our tour guide. He was friendly and enthusiastic but not a very good storyteller and was hard to follow. He spent more time showing us pictures on his iPad than telling scary stories. Our first stop was curiously a bathroom break and to get something to eat/drink at a, restaurant only 20 minutes into the tour. Even though this is billed as a bus tour, be aware there is a fair amount of walking in the dark on unstable ground (tree roots and rocks) in cemateries.

Thank you for your review. Brandon usually gets rave reviews so I’m sorry he did not live up to your expectations of what the tour would be. Most people DO want to get out of the bus and explore the locations that we take you to. Nevertheless, we thank you for choosing Haunted History Tours and I will pass your comments on to Brandon.

The sites were awesome, definitely tons of history. Toast was our tour guide. He was an absolute fountain of information....with no nozzle or shut off valve. It was very obvious that Toast is very passionate about the information of the city, and was very happy to share documentaries, books and movies that he had watched to learn more. The information he shared was great, it was his delivery that was lack luster. Frankly, I'm not sure when he took a breath. He talked so much, so fast, so incessantly, in a monotone inflection that felt a bit like Ben Stein in Ferris Bueller's Day Off, "Bueller....Bueller...." He would ask if we had questions, but then look away or at the ground, straight up ignoring hands that were raised more than once. The sites were powerful, and the tour was nice, but I left the tour thinking "Wow, That guys sure knows a lot about this city" but not like I knew more about the city afterwards. It felt more like a boring college lecture than a fun tour. I went on another tour the night before, and that guide gave a great amount of information as well, but he was more engaging, and actually answered questions. Toast knows a lot, for sure, and he's definitely passionate about the city, he just doesn't communicate in a way that is very engaging.
