    A Pleasant Excursion
We were a party of four adults. We arrived early enough to get a good seat on the upper front outside covered deck. It was an enjoyable boat ride and the narrator was delightful & informative. One of our group stayed on the boat at the battlefield due to the walk required in very hot temperatures.

Historical Cruise - Worth the Experience
Loved the historical cruise. Very informative and relaxing. Perfect to get out of the heat and learn more about New Orleans. I have a new appreciation for this beautiful city. ADVISE: Go 15 mins before boarding timeframe starts, go straight to the bottom level and get a window seat at a table on the side of the boat that you entered the boat. All of the history information will point out items on THIS side of the boat. Cash bar was very nice and reasonable. Meal is not necessary unless hungry. Get off the boat at the battleground and listen to the speaker. Amazing history.

    Trip at creole Queen
This is a total waste of money . Narrator is okay but nothing to watch . At the end we spent half an hour for a tour. Food is average, no coffee and soda still charged $20 per person. Better spent money at French Quarters for food and drink . Not worth the money.

    Fun Boat Tour
Great boat ride. Narrator was very informative regarding the area we were seeing on the way to the battlefield and the effects of Katrina on the way back. The battlefield was an ok stop but was really just a repeat of what the narrator had already told us.

Great historic cruise. Fantastic history narration.
It was a relaxing cruise down the river to the battlefield and back. They day was very hot so we had a couple of drinks and cooled off in the enclosed second deck. The best part was Charles’ history narration as we made our way up and down the river. Great details about New Orleans history and the experience during Katrina. What a pleasant surprise. If you like history, I highly recommend.

    Interesting Ride...
The cruise was decent. The vessel was not exactly what I was expecting. I imagined more opulence for a river boat. We didn't get the buffet- but do to timing we were running late and did get some a la carte options- I wish we had not run out of time to stop for lunch because the food was terrible. The narrator had a very excellent voice and affect for historic retelling. I will say though that Charles did play a little fast and loose with historical details, including the retelling of Katrina.

    A cruise worth taking
I loved getting on a riverboat and traveling the Mississippi to the location of the Battle of New Orleans. We also did the lunch buffet with the cruise. The buffet was good, but the food in the French Quarter is better. The battle site is run by the National Park Service and is a bit unimpressive compared to many other battlefields, but to just be at the site is great. I highly recommend taking the cruise if nothing else to take a steamboat ride on the Mississippi.

    Informative!
The ride was quite nice and the food was better than I have had other boat tours. The narrator was ver informative. The quick stop at the battlefield was nice, not a lot there.

Cruise Back to the Battle of New Orleans
This two-hour cruise to and from the Chalmette battlefield was simply unforgettable. The onboard narrator was a professional historian whose non-stop narration provided an enormous amount of detailed information about the river, the city, its history and the famous personalities who shaped the legacy for which it is famous. Walk the very ground defended by Andrew Jackson and Jean Lafitte and stand next to the same cannons used to shred the attacking British troops. General Pakenham, brother-in-law of the Duke of Wellington, was one of two generals the British lost at the hands of Jackson's forces, comprised of frontiersmen, pirates, American regulars and Native American troops. The Chalmette National Historical Park is staffed by Park Rangers who deliver highly informative presentations and the site also boasts a swell gift shop with a great book section. I don't recommend the climb to the top of the Monument tower for the physically unfit and the view from there is almost totally blocked by grates and screens. I do highly recommend this excursion for anyone interested in history and for the endless photo ops from the paddlewheeler. With a full service cash bar aboard, how can you go wrong?

    Trip with family
The cruise was amazing. I would skip the meal in the future, there are better food options in New Orleans. My nieces were visiting out of town and wanted to eat on the cruise. Overall well worth the money. Would go again.

    Meh..
We went on the cruise-only cruise, not with the meal option (which I heard was only meh). It was okay, but not what I was expecting based on the reviews. The line to get on was crazy long when we got there (and we got there at least 30 minutes early), so seating choices were limited. We ended up in the sun, but once the boat turned around to get going, we were in the shade a little more and the breeze helped a lot. They did provide free ice water by the bar. My biggest disappointment was the lack of band music, as was promised online. There was no live music and what music there was (inside only) was mostly Motown. Now I love Motown, but I was expecting traditional jazzy live music to set the mood. The one historical stop was also...lacking. It was extremely difficult to hear anything the park ranger and historical actor were saying. There was not enough seating in the grassy area we congregated in. The bathroom, which is NOT in the visitor center, was okay. The visitor center was okay, nothing great except the air conditioning. It was a bit of a hike to get to as well which was fine for us, but several senior citizens were having trouble with the heat and lack of benches to rest on. We sat inside the boat on the way back because by that point we were totally baked. The decor was okay - trying to be period appropriate, but it was worn. Chairs were stained, and the workers...not rude, but not friendly either. Overall, it's passable, but overpriced for what you get. If I had it to do again, I'd go with the other company further into the French Quarter.

Boat ride was very good. Skip the buffet.
The cruise itself was interesting, though the 2-hour cruise includes an hour at a state park, so you’re really only on the water for an hour total. The narrator was very good, and his retelling of the days before and after hurricane Katrina was intense and sobering. I’m glad I didn’t spend the extra money on the buffet meal as it looked underwhelming.

I went on this dinner cruise with the thoughts of great food and wonderful music. What I had for 80+ dollars for was limited flavored food and a jazz band that wasnt very jazzy. Jazz music has always made me wanna dance and sing a long. This group sounded pitchy and a little run down ( referring to age, towards the sound). I was not impressed espeically coming from NOLA! Where every thing else i experince was very much New Orleans style.
The boat is cute but there isnt anything else on there to do other than take a couple pictures and listen to music that would sound better if it was on cd... The only tasty thing they had was a seafood pasta and it was hard to tell that there was Seafood in the pasta. The bread pudding was not as good as it described on the website. There was limited density and the sauce was not flavorful at all.
Food service felt quick. It was like rush rush eat and then stand or sit for the next hour and half. FYI drinks are NOT included in the meal- sodas teas not included in a ticket that you pay a nice chunk of change for. I was shocked by that and maybe it tells you but it was never repeated until you came back to your seat and saw a bill. 😐 I would do this tour again only to see if its better during the full tourist season.

Food was horrible, drinks overpriced no narration or information about where you are on the river or what you are seeing. Music was sub par. Bathrooms a nightmare only 1 stall had toilet paper, garbage can was left in the middle of the bathroom, no soap no towels.
They allowing smoking on all decks outside so the whole time we were outside all we smelled was cigar and cigarette smoke. Horrible experience.

Went for the cruise and dinner and was pleasantly surprised. Great service, great GF options on the buffet an all round great night. The band must have a collective age of 300, but they could still bash out a tune. Definitely recommend this for a good evening out.

I was really excited at the idea of this cruise and keen to tick it off my bucket list. I really did enjoy the cruise along the Mississippi but I would recommend you do go at night as the shores can be a bit grim - enjoy the moonlight instead.
The paddlewheeler was rather shabby with 70s style tiles on the celings - I was expecting something more elegant - but, on the whole, is very pretty. The jazz band was also entertaining background music but I would have liked something more raucous.
Dinner though was not great at all. It was like serving yourself slop from a bad school canteen and is certainly not worth the extra £60 we spent on it. Content yourself with a $10 cocktail or two from the bar and eat afterwards.

Was on the Saturday brunch cruise 3/26/2022. Boarded, had a nice buffet brunch. Went to the upper deck to listen to the jazz band and wait for the cruise to start. Well, it never did.

We were told at 11:30 “we are waiting for the coastguard to approval to leave”. Then at about 11:45 the second announcement was “we are still waiting to hear back from the coastguard “. Then at about noon the last announcement was “we would not be leaving the dock, and please enjoy the music dockside”.

When we disembarked the boat, the deckhand said it was “due to mechanical problems”, that was never announced. We stopped at the ticket booth and was said our money would be refunded on Monday. It’s now Wednesday, and no refund.

Save your money, look into another cruise company and read their reviews first. Never once did anyone apologize.

We went for the meal deal on board last night, The food was disappointing considering the cost, Buffett style, it was made up of mainly chicken in various sauces, rice in a couple of flavours and what looked rather like instant mash potatoes, Except for a Caesar salad there was nothing that could be considered a starter, As for dessert there was just the one choice. Definitely not fine dining at its best. Skip it! As for the trip itself it was good. The band played great jazz and the trumpet player really stood out. Nice atmosphere and the paddle wheel actually worked!

We were scheduled for the Natchez, but moved to the Creole Queen when the Natchez had to have repairs done. Turned out to be a windy and cold night, and the jazz band was outside, but would have been better to have them inside. They do pipe in the music so you can hear while dining. More of a Dixieland Jazz than anything. The Natchez said they had grammy winning jazz. Food was typical of wedding buffet food. Not too good, not too bad, except that they ran out of food! $80 and half of our party did not get any beef, mashed potatoes, corn. Coffee not included and you would have to wait in line at the bar if you wanted it. We had a server who introduced himself and was supposed to get us some food that they ran out of, but only brought over a small bowl of potatoes. Some of the staff were eating right off the buffet, scooping the last bits of bread pudding before guests could eat it and I was asking about coffee to a gentleman who was scooping rice into his mouth from a bowl right next to the buffet. OMG. Where has the service standards gone? If you go, make sure to eat right away, there were people eating at 6pm as soon as we boarded, we waiting until 7:15pm, but buffet is supposed to last until 8pm.

The dinner menu changed after I booked the dinner jazz cruise. No shrimp served tho it was advertised as part of the menu. Gumbo was the worst. Nobody ate it. I make better and I’m Swedish. 1 bartender, long long line for drinks. Had to pay for coffee. Bartender handled money and then with same dirty hands added cherries or olives to the drinks she made. It was too cold to be outside, so didn’t enjoy the music. It wasn’t piped down to the dining rm where most guest congregated so we completely missed the music. The band had room to move and play in the dining rm but nobody had them move out of the wind and cold to play for customers. The food was poor. Certainly overpriced. Way overpriced

Don’t waste your money - we opted for the dinner jazz cruise for our anniversary, which was a bust!

Food was good however the entertainment provided by the jazz bands was not! The music was o lot heard on the level where the jazz band played. The ambiance was dated and was in need of refurbished.

Jazz band was horrible

It was nice but it is simply a cruise down the river. We did the 7:00 pm cruise on a Monday so it was not crowded. The registration and boarding were all very easy. The brass band and sunset were really nice but there was nothing particularly exciting about the cruise (it was nice and relaxing though). I did enjoy it it but I'd only do it once to say I cruised the mighty Mississippi in a paddle-wheeler. We didn't opt for the dinner option.
