Overview
Visit the oldest and most legendary graveyard in New Orleans on a guided tour of St. Louis Cemetery No 1. The only way to enter the cemetery is with a guide who shares history and shows you the most intriguing above-ground tombs. Bonus: This tour includes a group ritual and blessing at the final resting place of Voodoo priestess Marie Laveau.
What to Expect
After connecting with your guide and group near St. Louis Cemetery No. 1 in central New Orleans, enter the gates of the city's oldest graveyard, known for its ornate yet crumbling tombs and reports of paranormal activity.

Archdiocese rules now forbid visitors to enter alone, so a licensed guided tour is the only way to explore this legendary site. Learn about the long history of the cemetery, which holds the remains of more than 100,000 people, and New Orleans’ unique above-ground burial practices from your guide.

Take pictures as your guide leads you to some of the most interesting and important family tombs, including the alleged final resting place of famed voodoo practitioner Marie Laveau. Perform a special group ritual and blessing here at America’s second-most visited grave (after that of Elvis).

The tour ends at the cemetery gates.

Entertaining and informative

Genuine and enthusiastic guide that had a gift for storytelling. Informative. I've taken a bunch of tours in New Orleans (airboat; ghost, witch and vampire tour; city bus tours, etc), and this was the best one by far. Thanks for the tour, Randy!

We went with Brian as our guide. He was funny informative and had a great grasp of history. The good thing was (as opposed to some tours) what he said and explained was actually credible. We walked to the cemetery and we would stop so...More

It Doesn’t Matter If It Rains!!

We booked the tour the day of the tour, and promptly got our tickets via email. About 15 minutes before the 1pm tour, we got a call from Brian, who was checking to see if we were still good for the tour. Reason for the...More

Its pretty crowded with people and the surface is uneven. If your at the back of the tour you should be able to do it though. Id check with one of the tour companies since you have to use them anyway.
