About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- nano420240 contributionsA must do activity while in NOLA!A few years ago, my husband and I visited NOLA. He booked a bicycle ride for us with Eric at Flambeaux. I was a little reluctant since I'm over 60 but it was my favorite experience the whole time we were there. A few years later, our son joined us for a short visit because we wanted to show him the city. The one thing I insisted on was the bike tour with Flambeaux. Again, we all had a fantastic time. I think what sets this bike tour apart from others is that Eric has such a great personality and is knowledgeable and passionate about his hometown of NOLA. He does a great job giving an overview of the main areas and there is always plenty of time to stop and discuss the surroundings. Don't be turned off by the length of time....it flies and is not too strenuous. I definitely recommend Eric and Flambeaux Bicycle Tours.Written September 10, 2024
- margaretdD5273ZJ0 contributionsGreat for parents and teensThis was one of our favorite activities of our trip. We had 2 adults and 2 teens, and all of us enjoyed our tour of the French Quarter and the Lower Garden District. On another visit, we will take another tour with this company, maybe to another neighborhood.Written August 27, 2024
- P5017NFjaner0 contributionsThank you Eric, for a fantastic summer bike tour!We had a fantastic time on this bike tour with Eric as our guide. He was a fantastic storyteller and the stops along the trip and the stories shared were a fabulous mix of history, architecture, and culture of New Orleans. Eric was fantastic at making sure we felt safe on our bikes, giving great instructions and stopping frequently to talk about sites and also let us cool down in the shade. His knowledge of New Orleans ran incredibly deep and he was excited to answer any questions we had along the way. We visited so many different neighborhoods and sites of New Orleans, seeing way more than we could have possibly done on foot! I would definitely recommend this tour as a part of your trip!Written August 26, 2024
- Voyage7489610 contributionsA MUST do in New Orleans! This was the highlight of our trip!We learned more about the people, culture and history in 3 hours than we could imagine. Eric is so knowledgeable and passionate about his city (where his roots go back over two centuries) and his southern charm and hospitality make you feel like you’re hanging with an old friend. We only did a 3 hour tour, but I would have happily paid to spend the whole day with Eric and absorb more of what Eric could share. If you’re looking for ways to better understand New Orleans, don’t hesitate, book this now! We were lucky and had a small group of 4 (it was low season), so maybe our tour was more intimate (I think it can be as big as 10) and that helped. Thank you Eric for everything! It was the favourite part of our trip!Written July 18, 2024
- Gbernstein30 contributionsGreat People, Great BikesFriendly and accommodating. Grat bikes. Completely comfortable experience. These are my people for bikes in New Orleans, an amazing place to ride a bike. Always a highlight of my annual visit. Thank you!!!Written May 10, 2024

- 840hansia0 contributionsA must do experience for visitors!!!What a fantastic way to learn about the cultural history of this amazing city while getting a unique perspective on a bike! We were so lucky to have booked with Eric as our guide. I HIGHLY recommend you book with him. Not only has his family lived in New Orleans for generations, which gives him a unique view of life in New Orleans, but he has an incredibly genuine, passionate and enthusiastic delivery. His stories gave life to a city I never knew, and painted such a loving picture of the history of the city, its people and their culture. I learned something on every stop! No lie. The ride was smooth. The route through the city was interesting and exciting. Did not feel ‘touristy’ or corny. Really, A FANTASTIC way to experience the city of Bulbancha. I would do it again for sure. The giant green dragonfly that latched onto Eric’s pant leg near the end of our tour was awesome too.Written April 13, 2024
- deesju130 contributionsGreat Bike TourOur tour guide Eric was amazing! Super charismatic and knowledgeable about NOLA. The tour was about 3 hours but it felt shorter because all the stops and history discussions went smoothly. Loved all the neighborhoods and our last stop in Treme. Would highly recommend!Written April 13, 2024
- straitups0 contributionsSpeechless! Eric delivers an experience like none other!!!WOW is all I can say! Eric goes above and beyond! This tour, hands down, was by far THE BEST! Eric's way of delivering NOLA's history was just incredible! He is so engaging, and makes sure that everyone feels a part of! He makes eye contact and delivers the history in such a way that you don't just listen, YOU HEAR! I toured with my 17 year old son and my 12 year old daughter, and we all agree that this tour was THE BEST, and we all LOVE Eric! He becomes your friend while on his tour! His welcoming energy, his passion, and his inherent love for his city and what he does is apparent! Thank you Eric beyond words for closing our vacation in NOLA as an incredible and memorable experience! We will see you next time! God bless you...Written April 5, 2024

- Ca5andra0 contributionsOne of the highlights of our tripThis bike tour is an absolute must when coming to NOLA. We did the 3 hour French Quarter/Marigny/ByWater & Treme tour. Epic!!! - Terra B0 contributionsFun way to learn about New Orleans! Our guide, Corey, seemed to know everyone in the city and was a wealth of knowledge about the history, architecture, and everything else we asked about. We had much fun and covered more ground in just a few short hours than we could have on foot. The break at Cafe DuMonde was perfect for beignets and hot cocoa. Highly recommend this tour if you want to learn more about New Orleans!Written February 25, 2024
- lozukowski0 contributionsBest Tour Ever! This tour is truly the best I’ve ever been on. It was freezing cold, and I was unprepared (clothes wise), and was in a horrible mood upon arrival. This tour was so good, that I enjoyed it in spite of the cold and my reluctance. Eric had us all hooked from the beginning to the end with his deep knowledge, humor, and incredible story telling. I’d go on this tour again whenever we make it back to New Orleans. So wonderful!Written February 15, 2024

Our group of six had the best time with Jonathon. He is all about it. Brings great enthusiasm, knowledge and charm to the neighborhoods we learned about. All felt safe on the bikes, locals seem to know him and his ability to tell the stories of New Orleans made the time fly by. Highly recommend and would do another tour with this company.

Our group of five friends loved this tour! Eric is such a nice guy, and he is incredibly knowledgeable about everything in the city from its history and folklore to its drainage systems and its burial customs. You will be amazed at all that you learn. Plus, he has the most charming way of starting a story, veering off to what you think might be a tangent, and then circling back to tie all the threads of his story together. We all loved listening to him. The bikes are comfortable, the route is totally flat and not strenuous, and it was just a great way to see the city.

We went on the Creole bike tour. It was a 3 hour low to medium intensity bicycle ride through the edge of French Quarter, cemetery #2, up Esplanade st, to City Park and back. All the historical facts satisfied my history channel self. But the way Eric added the elements of his childhood in New Orleans, the French/ Creole language into each story was an art form. Honestly, we could have just listened to his stories for 3 hrs in a cafe and been satisfied. We had plenty of stops to rest and get off our bike for 10 minutes at a time. The nice stop to get Beignets at Cafe du Monde at City park was a nice perk without the 1 hr line at the other location in the French Quarter. The bicycle trip was a nice way to travel the city with a nice breeze to keep you cool. It was a highlight of our trip!

We did the city tour with Eric as our guide, hands down the best bike tour we have done. Would highly recommend this tour as it takes you through multiple neighbourhoods and gives you a really good insight into New Orleans history. Wish we had done it on our first day here! It’s an easy ride on a comfy bike and anyone could do it. Eric was brilliant in the way he delivered the tour and you can tell he is passionate about his city and it’s unique history!

I want to say my tour guide name was Josh aka Shimmity? - sorry if I forgot your name. But my point is, he was great guide and had great knowledge of the city and made the tour worthwhile. At first we were bit skeptical due to the weather if we would make it around the city but with little drizzle in the beginning we didn't mind at all since the guide made it more fun. There were 5 of us in the group due to weather, but I think its perfect size to be more social with others. Found out lot about NOLA than what we knew and was very delightful experience. He even told us what to do and where to go during our stay and surely enough we took his recommendations and it was great.

I spent a lot of time researching a bike tour before going. I wanted a good tour that covered a good mix of local sites. This tour was fantastic. We learned great facts about the places we visited and the tour guide answered all out questions. But most importantly the bike tour was done so we always felt safe on the roads we were riding and the pace was enjoyable. NOLA is a bustling city and we were able to see this great city up close.

This is a great tour to see more of New Orleans than just the French Quarter or Garden District. We saw multiple neighborhoods where people actually live and some other entertainment areas beyond Bourbon Street. Out guide Jeremy was extreme knowledgeable, particularly about history of the area. The bikes worked well and the entire trip is as flat as could be so very easy for us as 65 year olds. The company office is also an easy walk from the French Quarter where we stayed. Highly recommend.

My fiancee and I visited New Orleans, our favorite city, for the first time together. My fiancee had previously took the French Quarter bike tour with Eric, and she mentioned that it was the highlight of her previous trip. So we decided to go on the Creole Odyssey bike tour for our trip. It was hands down our best day in New Orleans! We were able to see multiple neighborhoods and learn the history. Eric is wonderful. He clearly loves his city, and his passion and excitement shines through in conversation with his welcoming personality. Not only was it a fun and educational bike tour, but we also left with incredible restaurant and Jazz club recommendations, as well as a new friend in Eric. We can't wait to book another bike tour with Flambeaux for our next trip back to New Orleans!

Firstly, I’m really honored Eric shared my picture on the Flambeaux Tours Instagram! I was in Louisiana for business just outside of New Orleans, and decided to stay over an extra day so I could actually experience New Orleans. I found the bicycle tours through reviews and decided that it would be the best way to see the city with my limited time. I was right. It really was my favorite day and tour. The weather cooperated and after rain on the first two days of my work week, the Saturday in NOLA was beautiful and sunny. The brief stop at the City Park for Cafe du Monde was a welcome treat. Jeremy was great! I wish I had used more of my limited French as he is fluent. I can’t name one favorite part of the tour. The whole experience was my favorite. Merci beaucoup!!!
