I wanted to see the tombs of Marie Laveau and Madame Lalaurie as I was doing a voodoo trip. Our tour guide was Brie (like the cheese, as she said) and she was extremely knowledgeable of the history of New Orleans, the architecture, voodoo, and many different individuals in the cemetery. She was patient (as we had four children, two of which were in a stroller), she kept the information appropriate for children while still giving a great tour (more than an hour, actually). My daughters actually paid attention and learned a bit from Brie’s entertaining style of teaching. I would recommend making sure you have water (or cash) as the cemetery is at least 15 degrees hotter than outside temperature. Brie did give us a chance to buy some from the sellers outside but not everyone had the cash. Great deal for the most informative part of our day!

This is a great tour and my friends and I were very happy with the experience.

I love the above ground cemeteries in New Orleans. Unfortunately, you can’t enter Saint Louis Cemetery Number One without a licensed tour guide. That’s where this walking tour comes in.

The price is excellent for an hour long tour, and will save you about $10 per person vs if you wait to hire a guide at the gate.

This is a walking tour, so you will walk about 5 blocks to reach the cemetery. The guide stopped twice along the way to point out facts about the buildings. Once you reach the cemetery you will be standing for the whole tour. There isn’t a lot of shade so bring sunscreen. The tour ends inside the visitors center, which is air-conditioned and has public bathrooms.

Our tour guide was friendly and informative. She even gave great recommendations for drinks and food that we might have missed otherwise. She had a lot of interesting information about the specific tombs and was great about answering questions.

The tour focuses on historical, non-supernatural events. If you want a non-ghost tour this is the one for you.

The one odd thing was the meeting place to begin the tour. I was expecting some kind of tourism office, but instead we met on the street outside of an unrelated jewelry store. However, the tour guide arrived early and at the exact address. So there was no problem finding the tour.

The booking process was very easy. We booked through Trip Advisor and had no issues with our registration.

We’re very glad we chose this tour and I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to see this famous cemetery.

Our tour guide, Jamie, was very knowledgeable, easy to hear and understand, and always willing to entertain questions. We learned about the architectural style of the houses in the French Quarter as we walked towards the cemetery. We learned about the history of New Orleans and the cemetery itself. Inside the cemetery, Jamie shared information about the different types of tombs built over the years as well as the process for handling the dead. He pointed out the tombs of people both dead and alive and made famous in movies. He taught us about caveaux, 10 foot poles, and what it means to be bagged and tagged. I highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in learning more about New Orleans history.

Very deceiving description since the cemetery is closed. We didn’t pay to stand outside of the cemetery and the guide took his sweet time even getting there as we felt like we were more getting a French Quarter walking tour rather than a cemetery tour. Don’t understand why the cemetery’s are closed because everything else in the city is pretty much open… I’m not too sure how the tour is conducted when the cemetery is open, but I would hope it wouldn’t be stopping at every historic fact and spot in the French Quarter on the way to the cemetery.

Unfortunately, the Archdiocese closed the cemetery, due to the pandemic. It is in the description, when you book your tour, as well as the email confirmation. A lot of people are missing this fact, not reading the entire description, so your guide has been instructed to reiterate, before the tour. We want everyone to fully understand they may take the modified tour or receive a full refund. If you chose a refund, it has been processed. We appreciate your support during this pandemic, and hope to see you in the future, when the cemetery reopens or for other tours. Thank you for your review. We appreciate your business.

This tour was not as described at all. We had to catch the tour group, because they left without us. When I contacted the number given, she took so much time telling us how to proceed that by the time we caught up we had walked over a mile from our meeting location (which was a shut down building) to do so, then when I finally caught the tour guide it was over halfway through the tour. I asked him what I should do, and he explained that we could either stay or reschedule, but that we would not be entering the cemetery (as was described in the experience). We decided to try to pursue a refund, at which point the lady whom had been texting me completely ghosted me, and stopped responding to text. It’s not the companies fault that they can’t enter the cemetery due to restrictions, but it should’ve been communicated when I paid. The whole experience was super unsatisfactory. Save your money and book with another company.

Unfortunately, you were late for your tour & missed departure. 16 other guests were on time & checked in, with no problem. You were given very specific instructions, as to how to catch up & you did not follow them. We began contact at 1:37 pm, for a tour that departed at 1:30 pm, which means you could have easily caught up, as there are many stops along the way, for history & architecture. It is on every booking platform and the email confirmation you received the morning of the tour that the cemetery remains closed, due to Covid & this is a modified tour, including French Quarter & Cemetery history, with photo shoots at the entrances. As I explained, many times, I did not "ghost" you, but cannot continuously text all day, night & the following day, because you were late for your tour. We appreciate your review & are very sorry you missed your tour.

Tour guide did not talk loud and with all of the traffic, couldn’t hear her. And very misleading about the cemetery. You cannot go into it and she doesn’t tell anything that you can’t read on the internet and see for yourself. She needs some kind of amplification device. Not worth time or money.

It was disappointing , I could have done this tour on my own . We were 5 and paid $50 to go and stand outside the cemetery . You can’t go in there and they don’t tell you this until the day off when they send you and email with instructions and by then it’s too late to get your money back .

Due to COVID, we were not allowed to visit the cemetery. However, Casey, the guide, was very nice and informative, even offering us a refund if we chose not to proceed. On the walk to the cemetery, he shared several interesting and historical facts about the surrounding area. As we stood outside the walls of the cemetery, he did a great job discussing the tombs you could see over the wall and showed us photos of the tombs from his phone which I thought was a great gesture. I would have liked to have gone inside, but due to current circumstances, he provided a great tour given the limitations.

Unfortunately, due to COVID, the cemetery is closed to visitors. Nevertheless, our tour guide, Casey, did a great job from the outside of the cemetery’s walls doing his best to explain what went on inside. He used his phone to show pictures whenever possible. Overall, the hour tour was both pleasant and informative.

We went on a whim not really sure what to expect. Our tour guide Jamie was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and made it entertaining. This guy really knows his stuff and was able to answer any question that was thrown at him. He even gave us detailed information behind the history of New Orleans and the structural differences among the many beautiful buildings. We left there with a lot of information that we would have never known. Well worth the money spent!
