- janesW6043BI0 contributionsIncredibleChristian was phenomenal, quite literally the best tour guide we have ever had and we have been on numerous tours over the years. We went with our teenage daughters (who are hard to impress) and they thoroughly enjoyed it as well. There was history and humor and honestly just Christian’s entire presence and personality made the entire tour. Thank you and when we are back in New Orleans we will definitely be back.Written March 16, 2025

A local to NoLa, she brought a perspective that was sensitive to the darker past of the city with a touch of morbid suspense. Such a great experience!! 10/10 would recommend!! Also, buy her book “Ash Tuesday” in a locally owned book shop!!Written March 15, 2025

It is clear that he really loves what he does and he really loves his city. My two kids age 11 and 9 joined us and they had a great time. I would also like to give a shout out to the employees I met at the New Orleans Tour And Welcome Center. I took Bob’s Garden District tour yesterday, and really enjoyed his humor and knowledge. He has been in Nola so long that he actually has personally connection with the stories he tells. Recommend ;)Written March 14, 2025

My wife and I enjoyed our walking tour with Brie a great deal. It was fun and informative, and Brie had a fun, engaging, and interesting personality, which brought the information she was telling us to life. She did a good job of not merely telling us the facts but giving us a sense of the culture and practice of voodoo and how it has become synonymous with New Orleans, even among non-practitioners.
We would certainly recommend the tour to anyone interested in the history and legacy of voodoo and its role in the development of New Orleans.

We had a great family tour with Erin. She was fully of info that audiences of all she's could easily digest and take insight from. The stories about how the culture from hundred of years ago affects today.

Our guide was Brie (like the cheese). She was AWESOME! We are from Houston so we are not too far away BUT we love coming to NOLA because every time we do it's always something different and new. THIS time it was a history voodoo tour with Brie (like the cheese). Even though it was 1.5-2 hours, she kept us engaged the entire time. I like the fact that she incorporated some real life personal stories while giving us the voodoo history lesson. Our time was supposed to end at 9, but we ended closer to 9:30 because she engaged us so much we lost track of time! Trust me, it was a good thing! Who said history has to be boring?

Two weeks later, I am still reflecting on our recent tour for various reasons. Our guide, whose name I believe was Toe or Toad (he had to show us his ID to prove it), made quite an impression.
The tour continued with him sharing a few tidbits while heavily criticizing Hollywood's portrayal of voodoo. At one point, we encountered another tour group led by a female guide, and the two exchanged profanities and insults. It was quite the spectacle.
Toe had a habit of criticizing other tour groups and the general public. He even blocked traffic while glaring at cars, yet he yelled at us to 'watch out, stay off the street.' One lady in our group drew his ire when she took a hit from her vape, leading to a public shaming that shifted the group's mood. Shortly after, a couple left the tour, unbeknownst to him until the restroom break, at which point he harshly criticized them.
Despite these incidents, Toe did provide some interesting historical information. However, he kept us close, limiting our opportunities for picture-taking, possibly fearing more people might try to sneak away.
Not sure what I was looking for, but it wasn't this.

I really enjoyed learning all about the voodoo religion on this tour. My tour guide-Toast, was very knowledgeable about voodoo and the history of the city. It was fun walking around New Orleans at night. Tour guide was a lot of fun and I would recommend this tour to anything looing to learn more about voodoo.

Bree was excellent. A New Orleans local with a ton of history about voodoo. She did a wonderful job dispelling uncommon, negative myths about voodoo and shed light on the nature of voodoo and some fun stories. We saw a lot of cool sites we wouldn't have seen otherwise. Thank you Bree!

I'd wanted a tour that didn't just tell me hollywood/pop culture fueled stories, and this was a really good tour for that! Toast was a fun, knowledgeable tour guide, who knew what he was talking about, and when he didn't know the answer to something (because after all Voodoo is a religion that has gone through distortions, changes, etc. and we are outsiders) he's say so, and acknowledge that without just making something up. Highly recommend!

DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND ASK FOR TOAST!! Yes that’s his legal name.. My wife and I visited the French quarter this past weekend and we love to take tours everywhere we go. we had several tours booked prior to our visit, we had no idea how blessed we were to get Toast as our first guide. He was extremely friendly, knowledgeable and very enthusiastic. the passion he has for what he does really shows in his tours and it especially shows when you take tours with other guides. Other tours did not even compare to our tour with toast. Other guides shared wrong information, ended tours much earlier than they were supposed to and just didn’t have the same knowledge or enthusiasm as we saw in Toast. We were so pleased with him that we ended up cancelling other booked tours so we could go back with Toast for different tours as he does 10 different kinds of tours in the French quarter. He is a student of all kinds of history and is even in the process of writing a book about one of the cemeteries he took us to on a different tour with him (cemetery tour). His kindness and expertise did not stop at the tour, after it was over he chatted with us and gave us tips for the rest of our stay outside of touring. He showed us his favorite authentic shops (voodoo Authentica is a must see) , restaurants and sight seeing spots as well as what to watch out for as far as anyone trying to scam us (and to not get caught in the tourist traps).. I cannot wait to go back and this time everything we do will be with Toast!!
Tip well because as you will see this guy really deserves it!!

A HUGE disappointment. The guide (Toast) was hard to understand, rambled and went off on various tangents. We had hoped to learn about voodoo (e.g., history, practices/rituals, beliefs, current status, etc.) but came away with VERY little (if any!) relevant knowledge. My friend and I have been on numerous tours in various countries and this was the worst tour (by far) that we had ever been on. To make it worse, this was our last night in NOLA - what a waste!!!!

We did the voodoo tour, which we were informed was more educational than scary. This was a nice change compared to other tours. Our tour guide Brie was very good, easy to hear even in noisy locations and very knowledgeable. She interspersed history with personal experience. Only negative, is I wished the locations we stopped early on were more relevant to the history and your groups were large
