About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Judy D0 contributionsPayton was a great guide to the ghosts! Our tour guide Payton was wonderful! He took us to four bars and shared ghost stories of each along the way, as well as spots of interest on the route. A great way to walk the French Quarter and learn some history. Thanks Payton!Written November 19, 2024
- S9805KGalexh0 contributionsTour Guide Was Too Drunk to Give TourTour guide was inebriated and could not give us the tour. Service was not received and the company did not offer to help us. We called the company requesting a refund or another tour later on in the night but they said “she’s a new guide” and “there’s nothing we can do.”Written November 16, 2024
- I3625UVjessicah0 contributionsGreat shightseeing/history tourRhody was incredible! We loved our tour with her. She is very knowledgeable and passionate about the history which make for a great experience. Her energy is amazing and her storytelling is just as great.Written November 11, 2024
- annagK7839RL0 contributionsFun ghost tour in New Orleans! We had a great time on our tour with Ghost City Tours. Our guide Uma was very knowledgeable about New Orleans and the history behind all the stops on the tour. I felt safe and cared for as we were traveling with someone in a wheelchair. The roads were bumpy and uneven so just keep that in mind, but the tour itself was awesome and Uma was great! I highly recommend this tour company.Written November 8, 2024
- johnmH700PK0 contributionsKillers and ThrillersMy girlfriend and I decided to take a True Crime tour for Halloween. Michael, our guide, teaches history and is extremely knowledgeable about the French Quarter. He was great with the group and answered all our questions. He lived in the Quarter for a few years and knows it very well. And the twist on the Zack and Addie case...Written November 5, 2024
- AndreaM38990 contributionsTerrible experience on the Haunted Pub tourLots of issues, but to summarize the guide was not trained well (& I’ve been to many tours like this to compare) and management was unresponsive when I called to share feedback. I HIGHLY ADVISE YOU NOT TO USE THIS TOUR COMPANY. Here is the long explanation. 1) The guide couldn’t figure out the app and took almost double the amount of guests with her compared to the other guide on duty. 2) We expected to hear haunted stories, since we paid for the haunted pub tour, but instead were tales about known people who lived in the the city… not one ghost. 3) Typically the guide will start out with a story before going into the bar, so you have an idea of what you are walking into. Instead, this guide would walk up to the bar, provide no story, and ask us to get drinks. Only afterwards she would give some history about it…and in one case she didn’t share the story until a few blocks away. 4) In all cases, she didn’t wait to start speaking until the large group had caught up and her voice couldn’t be heard due to the fact people weren’t gathered close enough. 5) I called the following week of the tour to explain our dissatisfaction and spoke with a customer service rep (believe her name was Tamara), who was very understanding and took down all of my information. She said a manager would contact me very soon…Unfortunately, I never heard back. I’ve attended some great tours, but this company is the exception. Not only they have staff who needs some major training, but management clearly doesn’t care. That said, these six customers won’t we using this tour company in the future. There are so many other companies in NOLA that must be better than this one.Written October 29, 2024
- kenfF3954UY0 contributionsNon-Refundable ScamStay away from this tour company! We booked a tour through their website and received a confirmation from PEEK.COM. When we needed to make a change to our reservation they could not accommodate us and we had to cancel. It was 2 weeks before our reservation. They said there were NO REFUNDS. The reservation process said nothing about non-refundable. The confirmation from PEEK.COM said nothing about non-refundable. We argued and they refused. We were charged $167 and they provided nothing. This is illegal if not unscrupulous. They did not identify the non-refundable terms until AFTER they had our money. There are other ghost tours in Nola, and others are better. Go elsewhere.Written October 28, 2024

- CBeber840 contributionsBad Broads Tour ExperienceWhile in New Orleans - it was a must to do a ghost tour while on vacation here. I came across the 'Bad Broads' tour which highlights some of the famous women in the area and things that they did (good and bad). We were lucky enough to get Dalton as our tour guide - he was really engaging, knowledgeable, and kept us entertained throughout the entire tour. He had a lot of funny campy dad jokes that kept everyone chuckling. Eerily enough, while we were outside of the LaLaurie house, and he was explaining some of the horrible things that happened there, one member in our tour group fell down and passed out. Dalton was kind enough to ensure an ambulance was called and waited with her until help arrived. The timing was quite spooky. I learned a lot of educational things and history about New Orleans that I never knew existed. My only warning is just know ahead of time - that this is strictly a walking tour (no bus or vehicles) and where you start is NOT where you end. So just go into that knowingly ahead of time, and you should be good. I needed the exercise, so I didn't mind that part at all. Great experience - if you're debating whether to go or not - I would say go for it, if you have a couple hours to spare and want to learn some cool things!Written October 14, 2024
- Gloob180 contributionsWalking in the path of historyWe took the Bad B---s tour with Jamie. She was clearly very well informed and passionate about the history and culture of New Orleans. We also appreciated the many activity suggestions and further resources she provided. I would recommend wearing VERY comfortable shoes for walking on the cobblestones and random potholes though! Also, definitely bring water. The tour was at a brisk walking pace but we did have several stops. Great tour!Written September 25, 2024

- dodgerammer20020 contributionsHad a awesome time would high recommend Joshua was awesome.First I want give a shout out to Joshua. He was awesome, very friendly and very informative. He took his time with myself and my girlfriend Kim. He answered all of our questions. Which was not many because he told us all about the spots we stop at. He told us all about the buildings and the history of New Orleans. I would highly recommend the tour and to request Joshua. He was great and did not cut anything short. The only thing I regrated is that we did any pictures because we were just having a wonderful time. When we come back and we will I want to take the tour again and this time take pictures.Written September 2, 2024
- richardnM1148QS0 contributionsBetter than a ghost tourI had Mike as a tour guide and he was phenomenal. I’ve had a background in law enforcement and it was great hearing both the history of grisly murders in the area, but Mike’s own first hand knowledge of the cases. He gives it straight and how bad this stuff was. I’d definitely do this tour again.Written August 29, 2024

I was hoping that I wouldn’t get solicited with my opinion because I really didn’t want to give it. The tour was not what was advertised. We booked the ghost tour however our guide talked about history for 98% of the tour and by the time he mentioned something about ghosts everyone was bored stiff and missed the very short comment. We ended our tour early and the couple with us joked about ending theirs too. I would not recommend this tour at all unless you want a history tour. It could’ve just been our guide (older gentleman) but would not recommend if you want a ghost tour, not to mention he asked for a 5 star rating on multiple occasions. I did obtain a pic from Muriels but that was the only highlight of the tour but they could’ve kept that experience had I of know what was to come. The tour started like this within the first 5 minutes and we were going to leave then but the Muriels event gave us some hope which was soon dashed. I wasn’t going to leave a review however with the amount of money that we wasted on the tour I wouldn’t want others to have the same experience.

We're sorry to see that you didn't have a good experience on our Ghosts of New Orleans Tour. Our tours do cover a lot of historical information. I would suggest that you try one of our adults on tours in the future as they dive deeper into the gruesome aspects of the history. Thank you for touring with us and taking the time to leave a review.

Worst customer service experience of my life.
When the tour guide did not arrive at the meeting spot, I called customer service. They told me that the tour I booked and paid for through Expedia did not exist. The agent was accusatory, dismissive, unprofessional. When I asked for documentation stating that they do not offer the tour that I booked, the agent proceeded to call me pet names and ultimately hung up on me. The agent refused to issue a refund due to a strict "no refund" policy despite the circumstances. My credit card company has refunded me and is launching an investigation into Expedia and Ghost City Tours to determine how this miscommunication occurred.
*Edit* After speaking with the management team, I have been informed that the agent I spoke with is no longer employed by Ghost City Tours.

This was my second time doing a ghost tour in New Orleans and it was amazing! Our guide Neil was so knowledgeable about the city of New Orleans and the people who established it and all of the events that occurred to make it a spooky city. Neil provided us with additional stories and facts that I never knew from my history book and he provided additional resources to learn more about the tragic and supernatural events in New Orleans. An absolutely amazing tour I will definitely recommend him to all of my friends and family members who are looking for a great tour. History lovers Neil your guy even if you aren’t I promise he won’t disappoint you!

We are not big believers in the supernatural however we knew it was essential to do one of these tours while visiting. We missed our tour the first night and were allowed to reschedule with no issue! They were so accommodating! When we finally made it to our tour, we met with Lisa. She was very respectful of all Covid-19 rules and we began our tour. We started at Muriel's and based on her incredible storytelling and wealth of knowledge we decided to actually eat there the next day (do it. now. its awesome) We then learned about a couple things while we walked to the Convent. This was followed by the LaLaurie mansion and then some more stops after that ( I don't want to give the whole tour away!) We never felt rushed, she was so polite and welcoming, true southern hospitality. I would recommend this to anyone looking to learn a lot about the city and it's haunts. Thank you Lisa and Ghost City Tours!

This was an amazing tour for my family and I. My kids, ages 10 and 11 really enjoyed it and got sufficient spooky stories without being too scared to sleep. Lisa was a wonderful story teller and made us feel very safe, entertained and held my kids attention on our first night in town. She took her time to answer questions, elaborate and add some interesting tid-bits about the city that weren't about hauntings. This was a fun tour for us adults too, lots of creepy tales and opportunities for fantastic photos. I may have captured a ghost in my photo at the ghost table at Muriels! My daughter swears that she saw the napkins move when I snapped it! This tour also gave us a good feel for the city and how to get around town throughthe rest of our stay. Highly recommend!

I have no idea whether this tour is good with other guides, but with Sydney it is a delight! She clearly has a gift for connecting with people and customizing in real time what kind of tour works for them. She also had suggestions for getting the most out of the city, and "in this economy?!!" to quote her, that's a huge help! I never expected to laugh so much on a guided tour, but Sydney kept us cracking up. In summary: if any TV producers are reading this, get in touch with her immediately and make her an offer.

If you are looking for an educational tour on the ghost of NOLA which is also super fun them this is the best you can find. Our guide was Lisa and she was superb. She gave us a very detailed account of all the haunted sights and even added a little extra with funny anecdotes. She was a great help when it came to local restaurants recommendations. We and our 2 dogs thoroughly enjoyed this experience!

Our guide, Lauren, did a fine job, despite being very hoarse and losing her voice. But unfortunately, with a tour group of about 28 it was still very difficult to hear at times. In fact, There were so many tours being held concurrently in the same vicinity, that it was often easier to hear the tour guide from other groups! And it was disappointing to see all the young children, and even a baby in a stroller on the tour. The tour guide said a couple of times she would provide the rest of the information when the children weren’t listening, but that never happened, to our knowledge at least. And it was difficult enough navigating the streets and sidewalks of New Orleans in the dark without having to dodge a baby in a stroller! Smaller size groups, no children, and fewer tours happening at the same time would have greatly enhanced our experience!

This should be renamed to Ghosts AND VAMPIRE tour. Niel was our guide and he was really knowledgeable. He took us back in time and painted a very surreal picture of the New Orleans "night life" !
Loved his insights and his inside information about the Monk Ghost!
You will definitely want to do this one !

On the Ghosts of New Orleans Tour are there stops at bars to pick up drinks?

Not along the tour but since the tour meets in Jackson Square you can run into a bar and grab a drink to go.

Hi, I was wondering if the haunted pub crawl includes drinks at each stop or if the alcohol has to be purchased separately? Thanks
Written July 25, 2018
I didn't do the pub crawl, but I seriously doubt that the tour would include drinks. You need to get all the details of the tour before signing on....either way, have a super time in New Orleans!

Hi,
We just finished the French Quarter walking tour and I noticed some of the pics on this tour are the same as what we seen today. Is there anyway we could do the haunted pub crawl instead? Is that available today or tomorrow?
If not is this different then the walking tour? Do you go in different buildings?
Thank you,
Toni
