          Good fun but be prepared!
Fun trip with up close views of the swamps and bayous. Saw lots of alligators and birds. Some helpful tips: The weather was low 60's but it's cold. You can rent a blanket for $10 which we did and I was glad I did. The airboats move fast and it's chilly. Helpful to have wrap around sunglasses to protect your eyes from the wind. They will sell you glasses for $8 at the shop. They provide ear protection but it would have been helpful to have foam ear plugs in addition if you are concerned about hearing damage.

The boat ride was so much fun and the tour guide was a funny guy! We saw so many alligators. Got a bit wet! Also held a baby alligator. Highly recommend to check out the gift shop. The bus driver that picked us up was super nice & friendly

          Fantastic swamp boat experience
This was a fabulous experience and would definitely recommend the small boat tour. Our guide was Bobby and he shared so much passion and knowledge of all things ‘alligator’ with us throughout the trip. The boat ride thrilling, but then you slowly meander through the stunning scenery of the Spanish Moss lined inlets where you’ll see a host of alligators up close. An unforgettable experience. The lady in the gift shop was so friendly and welcoming too, thanks everyone at Louisiana Swamp Boat Tours.

Perfect Tour to see all of New Orleans
We booked this tour to get and overview of New Orleans and it was amazing. There were 4 of us in our group, including my 90 year old cousin. The tour was just perfect! We selected a pick up spot right near our Airbnb and had a bus came to take us to the starting point. We were very lucky as we ended up with a private tour for the 4 of us. Such a treat! Our driver, David, was terrific. He was so knowledgeable and explained the history of NOLA from beginning to end. We toured the French Quarter, the Garden District, CBD, out to Lake Pontchartrain and the Ninth Ward. David is so knowledgeable and personable, it was just a pleasure. We made one stop at the Cemetery for about 20 minutes (with David as our guide through the cemetery) and then one more stop at Cafe du Monde in the park for about 20 minutes as well. This tour is well worth the $40. My family thoroughly enjoyed it.

          Fantastic swamp boat tour Louisiana
This is a must do if you’re in Louisiana. The boat operator was amazing and so knowledgeable. Fantastic adventure. The boat was amazing. We saw dozens of gators, they come so close to the boat! We saw a bald eagle nesting. The Spanish moss is stunning. Couldn’t recommend this company and tour strongly enough!!

Great tour with a lot of interesting facts. We learned a lot of things that we never knew. There was a chance to hold a baby gator. I wish the tour had gone on for hours.

          Favorite Louisiana experience
Kenny was our tour guide. We had a fun group of people with us from all over the US and abroad. There were beautiful views and we saw plenty of alligators. Highlight of my New Orleans trip was outside of the city! The boat does get windy. They provided noise cancellation headphones. If you have smaller children I recommend doing the tour boat instead of the airboat.

Fun airboat tour of the swamp
The driver/guide was great and gave us a tour as we traveled to the site for the air boat tour. Captain Bebop, our airboat captain, was excellent! He gave us a great overview of the swamp and marshes, Cajun and creole background, and very funny stories of growing up in the bayou.

          Captain Ernie is great
Recent cool weather made gators inactive, but we did see 2 which was more than we expected. We were very impressed with Captain Ernie who was raised in the area and able to give perspective of changing bayous with hurricanes and rising sea levels. Tour started with Ernie taking us past homes of "swamp people". Then to the more intimate bayous. Ernie's love of his home area was apparent. Not a lot of cheap jokes, just solid information.

This was our favorite tour of the trip. The plantation grounds are gorgeous. You get to tour the grounds, the house, and even some of the slave homes. Each has a written history about who would’ve lived there. On the premises they do have nice bathrooms. There is a restaurant, gift shop, and place to buy drinks. You won’t have time to have a sit down meal during the tour, so I’d recommend either taking your own snacks/meal, or you can grab a sandwich to go. You can eat on the bus. When you get to the swamp tour, they also have restrooms, gift shop and snacks. The airboats have headphones because it can get quite loud. The entire excursion was incredible! Barbara our driver made it a memorable experience by telling us the history of New Orleans during the drive. The swamp tour guide was so funny. He fed the alligators marshmallows and we got to hold a baby alligator!

We had the bus ride included in our package. The driver there was great. I think his name was Gary. He was funny at times, serious on other more sad stories, he told stories from growing up in New Orleans, history of the city, his personal experience going through Hurricane Katrina, ghost stories he's been told, just all kinds of facts about the city and surrounding areas.
The plantation was beautiful, the grounds were very well taken care of, tons of beautiful photo ops and then getting to walk through the house with our tour guide i think her name was Julia, and hear stories of both owners and staff that lived and worked there was eye opening, educational and interesting. The store had typical touristy offerings, and the little food offerings in the store were good. Basic sandwiches and such. We didn't try the restaurant as we didn't have enough time but would have if we could have.
Then, we went to Louisiana Swamp Tours for the airboat ride. Trey was our boat driver, and he was amazing. Gave so much information, made sure we got to see everything we wanted, and gave plenty of time for photos and videos. We were surprised how many alligators we got to see as well as other wildlife, including coyotes, and even got to hold a baby 2 yr old alligator. He also made sure to answer all our questions before moving on.
Overall, it was an awesome experience with everyone we encountered. Highly recommended!

We thoroughly enjoyed our tour day! We were picked up and dropped off at our hotel which was very convenient. There is lots of distance driving for this tour. Thankfully, our driver Donna was a peach making g the trek pleasant. The bus was large and d well air conditioned, Although not an official guide, she was a wealth of information. She described the layout of NOLA, pointed out landmarks, explained the ecology and its challenges, and provided insight into the lifestyle of the people of the area. She was helpful and pleasant. The Oak Alley Plantation tour was interesting in that it had replicas of the slave houses and provided an insight into what slave day to day life was like. The landscape was gorgeous with its massive oak trees. The tour of the plantation mansion was informative and the guide was very knowledgeable. It did seem to lack somehow. Maybe that there really wasn’t that much to see that was authentic. The slave houses were replicas. The detached kitchen was no longer there. The juvenile house was no longer there. There were only two or three rooms in the mansion to see and most were not original furnishings, etc. I guess I thought there would be more. Still worth the visit though.

The swamp tour was surprisingly the highlight of our day. Our guide (can’t remember his name) was awesome. He grew up in the swamps. He was extremely informative and interesting, He is fearless. He is like the Dr Doolittle of Alligators. I thought we might see one alligator. I think we saw at least 10. They came right up to our boat. We got to hold a baby alligator. This is mother my type of thing to do but thought my husband would like it, but I was pleasantly surprised. The whole experience was very cool!!’ Highly recommend!

We loved and hated this tour.
        Main points:
Spent a lot of time on the bus. The plantation is a long boring drive away.
The bus drivers are not guides, they only drive the very noisy bus.
The plantation is mildly interesting, Google could have provided what I got from this tour.
The house tour is hurried because another tour group is 15 minutes behind.
About 30 people in our group, too many to squeeze in the rooms and up the stairs. (Don’t start talking till your whole group catches up!)
The live oaks were the best thing on this tour.
Another long drive to the swamp part of the tour…

We LOVED The Swamp Tour, it was GREAT!
The guide knew his stuff, was entertaining, obviously loved his job and all the wildlife, even had a rescued baby alligator we could hold. Would do it again in a heartbeat!

IN RETROSPECT… Do the swamp tour by itself. Save all that time on the bus and skip the plantation.

Thank you for your feedback. We do apologize about your experience at Oak Alley. We do not have ownership over the plantation as we only provide the transportation, but we will gladly forward your feedback to them. We are glad that you had a great time on the swamp tour!

It happened to be a beautiful day, a small sprinkle during the swamp tour, but otherwise hot and humid and very sunny. Recommend bringing water and SPF. There is a snack bar available at both destinations if you do not bring snacks with you.

This day, we did the swamp tour first then the plantation second. It was a 30 minute drive from the city to the swamp tour and then one hour from the swamp tour to the plantation. The ride was comfortable and the tour bus was air-conditioned.

I would definitely recommend doing this if you're interested in getting out of the city into something quieter. All tour guides on this tour were very knowledgeable and there is some free time to explore the plantation. Very relaxed experience with some very nice folks.

Great tour! Plantation was beautiful and reality of history. Half hour tour was included. Swamp tour was great! We picked it on a good weather day, would not want to go if it was cold and raining ( I know the operators don’t control the weather!) it was a warmer winter day so we saw multiple gators and a beautiful sunset! Dewey the guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. Hotel pickup was perfect, I did not realize it was a lot of driving but we got to see outside the city and it was a good break from walking- great activity level to accommodate family of all different ages!

This tour was well presented from the time we were picked up till we were delivered back to our hotels. The Oak Pantation was an excellent exhibition of how the people existed and worked and lived in the plantation. Time was allowed for us to pick up a meal for lunch before being taken to the swamp boat tour. Our guide gave us and overview of the swamplands before and after the disastrous hurricane and environmental disaster that occurred thereafter. We saw alligators in the wild and many different types of bird species. The speed of the boats is exhilarating at full throttle and the ability of the boats to turn is amazing. Well worth the days’ outing

Swamp tour was great, very informative guide and overall great experience. I believe our guides name was Jason, and he could not have done a better job.

Plantation tour was not so good, had very short time window to explore the grounds and get food before the guided house tour started. The guided tour was not very informative and felt lazy. Property was very beautiful, especially the trees, but could not recommend the house tour to anybody.

Great day out. We were picked up at 10.40. Firstly we went to the swamps where we had some free time to enjoy the sunshine and have a look round at the alligators sleeping in the sunshine. We got on a boat at 12 noon and taken thru the swamps where we saw alligators being fed and raccoons and pigs running wild in the swampland. Our guide was Dustin he was very informative and humorous at the same time. The boat trip lasted 1.5 hours and we loved every minute. We left the swamps and taken on the bus to Oak Alley plantation. We learnt all about the slave trade and life in the big house. Our guide there was Anthony again very informative and helpful. We spent 1.5 hours there 30 minutes of which we were taken into the big house under Anthony’s guidance. A most enjoyable day out. Good value for money a must if you are visiting New Orleans

A trip of two parts. The Oak Valley Plantation visit was disappointing. A beautiful property on a nice sunny day. However the house visit was rushed (too many other groups) and very little information given by the guide on the house, the family history etc. Conversely the Airboat Swamp Tour was a lot of fun with Captain Ernie who found various gators (I suspect ones he knew!) and also other bird life in the swamp and made the most of the times when he was talking to his passengers. I would also mention the transport - the driver up to the drop off for the Swamp Tour seemed more intent on his own humour (not appreciated) that providing some commentary on the journey and we were late getting to the Swamp tour drop off.
