Overview
New Orleans’ Garden District is best explored by strolling the oak-lined streets past grand historical homes and chic boutiques alike. A guided walking tour additionally fills you in on the neighborhood’s rich history, from Civil War sites to the famous Lafayette Cemetery No. 1, as well as contemporary hotspots beloved by locals.
What to Expect
Begin your Garden District tour at a central meeting location on Magazine Street, known for its boutique shopping and dining options. Grab a snack from a popular shop (own expense), and get started on the tour.

Walk with your guide past a series of beautiful historic homes, from the plantation-style home where Jefferson Davis died to the haunted Buckner Mansion, featured in the TV series American Horror Story. Along the way, learn about the area’s history from the Louisiana Purchase to the Civil War and up to present day.

Then, browse the shops and restaurants at The Rink, a renovated roller skating rink turned shopping center best known for its bookstore. Tour concludes with a walk through the famous Lafayette Cemetery No. 1, located near a shopping and dining district.

Thanks for taking the time to review our Garden District tour. It's definitely one of our most popular and best selling tours. Loki works with us most days and presents several experiences where his storytelling skills and heritage are also showcased.
