About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Ronald M0 contributionsGreat adventureWe tried an airboat tour as this was the first time our three teenagers had been with us to the New Orleans area. They loved it. We all did. We expected to see some alligators and learn a little about the area, but we had so much fun. Our tour guide Trey was awesome with a lot of very dry humor. We saw lots of alligators of all sizes. Going fast in an airboat through the small swamp passages was really cool too. I would highly recommend this tour to all ages.Written October 9, 2024
- N3152WWangelaw0 contributionsErnie is awesome! My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our trip. Ernie our captain was funny and very informative. The weather was amazing. Highly recommend.Written October 9, 2024

- stevenjV8483OT0 contributionsLoved this tour would do again!Completely enjoyed this trip. The guides in the busses were knowledgeable and personable. The plantation was a real sight to see. But the swamp tour was a blast. Captain Jason did a great job taking us about and insured that we got to see plenty and take the pictures we wanted to take. This is a must for your New Orleans trip.Written October 8, 2024
- aundrayad0 contributionsAhoy Captain Ernie!🐊Captain Ernie was FANTASTIC!! An extremely intelligent tour guide - I could listen to him all day! I learned so many new things about alligators that I never even learned in school. And he sure knows how to steer an airboat! Thank you thank you Captain Ernie!Written October 8, 2024
- susantaylorfla0 contributionsSuper great time!!This was such a good time. I’m from Florida so I’ve seen swamp and alligators but had never been on an airboat. Our guide was so much fun! We cruised all around, fast, slow, a bunch of different areas. Saw tons of gators, one huge one!! Some coyotes and held a baby gator. The guide (sorry I can’t remember his name) gave us tons of info and answered all questions. He was so much fun. He was in no rush to get back and drop us off, I think we got a little extra time which was fantastic. I highly recommend this tour. Also got picked up and dropped off right at our air bnb. 👍👍Written October 8, 2024
- 682parkerm0 contributionsCaptain Ernie is Great!Captain Ernie was awesome! He is so knowledgable, he was funny without being cheesy, and our group learned a ton from him. The 2-ish hour boat tour was perfect.Written October 7, 2024

- Worldbutterfly0 contributionsHighly Recommended Small Airboat AdventureWow...what an adventure in the bayous! We are so glad we opted for the small airboat tour, which allowed for a more intimate, varied experience. Our guide Bobby was extremely skilled and knowledgeable. It was clear he knows the area and has a deep understanding of the inner workings of the plant, animal and, yes, reptile life. We saw quite a few alligators, but he didn't bait them or get them to do anything unsafe or unnatural. He had also made friends with a young pack of coyotes. It was a treat to see them up close, too. Though, to be honest, speeding around in an airboat and getting out of NOLA into such a unique ecosystem would be a thrill even if we hadn't seen a thing. Highly recommended!Written October 5, 2024
- S9707NDellieb0 contributionsSwamp Tour in the afternoonIt was a lovely experience. Capt. dusty explained everything to us so it took the fear away once you understood how the wildlife works. The weather was beautiful and it was peaceful and calm. We saw lots of alligators, raccoons, snakes it was a full experience. Recommend highly.Written October 5, 2024
- Melody S0 contributionsSuch a fun experience!!We had a blast and saw many alligators. Ken the tour guide/boat captain was spectacular. Definitely knew how to handle that boat. Would definitely do this again!Written October 5, 2024

- M2876PPbrianb0 contributions10/10 would go again!Wow did we have an awesome time out on the fan boat tour with Dewy yesterday. I learned so much about the land, the wildlife and the area. Dewy did such a good job as our tour guide and making the tour such a memorable experience. Thanks again!Written October 4, 2024
- judsonh5680 contributionsBest Swamp Tour ever!!!Absolute 5 star day!! Kenny was THE best guide ever. The massive alligator that he got to come all the way up to the boat was unreal! Cannot recommend this trip enough!Written October 3, 2024
- 464leahf0 contributionsGreat ToursThe Louisiana Tour company are fantastic. They had the difficult task of rearranging all the tours due to Hurricane Francine and were very accommodating. Jim, the tour guide of the Destrehen Plantation brought history to life and the swamp air boat trip with Rocky was amazing (better than any other swamp tour I have taken) - so much knowledge and fabulous sights!Written October 3, 2024

A MUST DO - the one tour everyone loved, especially teens. Stunning views of the bayou, friendly, fun and knowledgeable tour guide. Super easy pick up/drop off and the smaller group size (6-9) on the airboat was fantastically fun. 100% top of our list - we fell in love with the swamp and it’s critters, and left with a deeper appreciation for this part of the country. An absolute blast!

The pontoon boat tour of the swamp was excellent. Dewey did a great job of educating us about the swamp in a very entertaining way. Dewey’s passion for this swampland (where he was raised) was obvious and made the tour enjoyable. The round trip transportation from our French Quarter hotel was perfect.

I was visiting New Orleans with my boyfriend and we came across this swamp tour and I am so happy we did! Our bus driver that provided transportation to and from the tour location (Donna) was hilarious and gave us insight on the route we were traveling, providing history along the way. She was very easy to coordinate hotel pickup/drop off with. Our tour guide was Captain Dewey, who was full of jokes and really showed his passion for the animals and nature. He gave us so much information in a short amount of time without being boring, and really put his all into giving us a great experience on the swamp. Would recommend this to any first timer in NOLA and I would definitely go back!

The whole experience was awesome. The driver who picked us up from French Quarter was very cordial and practical. They called to walk us one block to canal so that can save lots of time and anguish from other passengers. Makes perfect sense !!!
Captain Reggi was phenomenal! His unique way of narration was very much enjoyable - and guess what we get to hold a baby allegator in hand !!! And he even put him on my daughter’s head 😳😳😀😀
Overall - loved it every bit

The entire trip was perfect, starting off with picking up from Hotels to dropping at the same spot, with the Tour Boat experience with an Amazing Tour Guide was great. From baby to 10-11 feet big Gators, we probably saw a large number of Gators. And in the end handling a baby Gator on the deck of the tour boat was a great experience.

We were picked up our hotel by Alert transportation and driven to the swamp boat loading area with rest rooms and gift shop. As it was pouring rain we bought $3.00 rain ponchos. The boat had covered seating and rest room. The captain was great! He is a native to the area and knew everything about the bayou. It was easy to hear him anywhere on the boat. We saw quite a few alligators as they like to get the white marshmallows he threw. My daughter even got to hold a baby alligator. Very enjoyable tour! The bus then took us back and dropped us off at our hotel. Highly recommend tour!

We opted for the tour including ground transportation from the city to the swamp. The pickup was prompt and the driver kept us entertained on the trip. The actual boat tour was outstanding. Our captain (Captain Bob) gave a great commentary, and took trouble to ensure that everyone was comfortable and he answered every question. Great value and a great day out. Thank you.

What's better than a morning on a boat surrounded by alligators? This was a great experience and I couldn't have been happier with Louisiana Tour Company for their organization and great experience. They picked me up and dropped me off at the door of my hotel as expected, which was a huge plus (for a fee, of course). The tour guide was excellent, full of funny quips, interesting tidbits, and a few surprises that I won't spoil. We saw plenty of alligators while on the tour as well as other animals and some beautiful scenery. A swamp tour is a must-do on any trip to Louisiana and I definitely recommend Louisiana Tour Company.

We had a great time!! Very convenient with the hotel pick up. We signed up for the last tour of the day, were picked up at 3pm, the tour lasted 2 hours, lots of awesome alligator sightings and fun info form the guide. We were dropped off at our hotel around 6:30pm. I highly recommend the trip!

It depends on the weather. The alligators like warm weather. It is still in the 90’s, and almost the end of September.
One may also learn about the marshland and other wildlife in the bayou.

The tour duration is 2 hours.
Is that the time on the boat or does it include the bus to and from hotel pickup?
Written September 5, 2022
Greetings!
I can't find the list of hotels for pick up. Is the Drury among them?
Written January 28, 2022
They will pick up from various hotel locations. You’d have to check if yours is included.
