This was a terrific bus tour of the city! The driver was extremely knowledgeable of history of this charming city and she also knew the architecture. My only disappoint was that we did not stop at the famous & renowned, Cafe’ Du Monde
for Beignets! I am soooooo disappointed because it rained during our entire visit and we couldn’t make it there on our own since our daughter & toddler granddaughter were traveling with us. She did stop at another (unknown) cafe that sold beignets, and other Louisiana favorites. Unfortunately gumbo was terrible- like out of a can & no flavor.
I should have just stayed on the bus during that stop.
I would recommend that an itinerary be provided before customers pay for this bus trip!

I took this tour with my wife on Jan 28 2023. We were picked up on the corner of the block of our Hotel. Joseph was our tour guide & made the experience enjoyable & informative. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who has a brief time in New Orleans & would like a great overview of the City. Joseph was kind enough to drop me near my next adventure the WWII Museum. I will strongly consider another tour in the future with Southern Style Tours.

As a first time visitor wanting to see as much of New Orleans as possible, we chose this tour. Gary, our guide, was excellent with his knowledge as a life long resident, history major and guide. We saw the Garden district with Gary pointing out homes owned by some very notable people along with one of the best restaurants in New Orleans and the country as rated. The tour include a drive by the WWII museum, parts of the French Quarter, a local park with for a Beignet and coffee, a cemetery with a full explanation of the origin and functional purpose of the above ground tombs and finally over to the lake and canals with a complete explanation of the terrain of New Orleans, engineering of the canal and lake and finally where did the water abatement system fail and who was most affected. This was a great tour. We combined this 9-12am tour with a 1pm Food Sampling Walking tour of the French Quarter, both through, you guessed it, Trip Advisor. These 2 tours gave us the most complete introduction to New Orleans imaginable.

Very disappointed. The tour guide, after picking up everyone from the hotels, made his first stop at a bar that a friend of his owns to sample rum--not advertised as a part of the tour and a waste of time. Then when we finally did get to stop and get off the bus for a 10-minute visit to a cemetery, more time was wasted as he hawked snacks that his friends were selling. A waste of time again! Most of the remainder of the tour was driving by houses and citing their prices and discussing the effects of Hurricane Katrina. Seeing berms and steel barriers is less than exciting.

Our guide and driver, Joseph, was knowledgeable, easy to understand, and full of New Orleans lore. The tour was a good length, with 3 stops for passengers to get out and look at interesting exhibits as well as use the restroom, and it offered a good snapshot of the city's business district, French Quarter, garden district and areas heavily affected by Katrina. The smaller bus made it easier to connect with fellow passengers and ask questions. The bus itself was clean, well-ventilated, (and well-air-conditioned), and had large windows to see out of as well as clean enough through which pictures could be taken.

We took the 3 hour tour with Gary. He communicated with us and picked us up at our hotel which was a huge bonus. He was very knowledgeable and funny. He interacted with each person that stepped on. He showed us filming locations we were all interested in, architecture and the Katrina damage and levees. He could tell us almost anything about it, including storm strengths at different times, landing point, evacuations and gave us dates and exact times. He even explained how the city has fortified and developed changes for further storms. We had a wonderful time and would highly recommend this tour!!

I enjoyed that we did get to see other parts of the city. I appreciated that the driver was very knowledgeable about the town and things to do and see, he seemed very personable, he was a good driver, and was very friendly. I did not appreciate that they did not enforce mask wearing inside the bus, given that we were all inside with a bunch of strangers for three hours. We did stop in a beautiful park with time to get a beignet from Cafe du Monde, which was nice.

This was a great way to start our trip! Our guide (Gary if I remember right) was fantastic and gave us so many good tips and tricks. We made a stop mid trip at Cafe du monde in city park so we could buy a benignet and use the bathroom which was a nice surprise. Also appreciated the lists he shared via text of local suggestions! I'd highly recommend doing this if you've never been to New Orleans and want a good overview and ideas to add to your trip. If you're concerned about covid our guide/driver did not wear a mask nor was it required of riders.

Fabulous way to see New Orleans! We had one whole day before we went on a cruise to experience the city in a short time. So glad we chose the 3 hr tour. Got picked up at our hotel and drop off is the same. Our tour guide was Gary who was fantastic. He offered so many facts and points of interest as we drove through the city and back to our starting point. Very knowledgeable and nice person. Answered any questions we had and even texted us with places to visit after the tour, restaurants, music venues etc. We got to see most of the major areas of the city…French Quarter, a cemetery where his comments told us the history and burial process, the levees, city park, Cafe Dumonde stop, the different wards, etc. We highly recommend this tour. If you need a great tour that orients you to what this great city has to offer this is the one for you…
