I have visited NOLA about a half dozen times over the past 5 years and wanted to get more familiar with some other parts of the city outside the French Quarter and this tour really hit the spot. I actually wish I had done this sooner because our tour guide Derrick turned over all the stones. Even having been to the city a few times there wasn’t one fact or stop of the tour that I had heard or seen before! I have at least 10 more things to do the next time I come. I would recommend the 8:30 am tour, once it ended I had plenty of time to go back to some of the spots and enjoy them for myself later in the day and it was a smaller group of people. We also did the ghost walking tour the night before and it was definitely better quality than a previous ghost tour I had been on. The tours are a bit more expensive than others, but we got a discount for booking multiple tours at the visitor center and even aside from that, I felt like it exceeded my expectations. I wouldn’t hesitate to take another type of tour from Cajun Encounters!

A fairly intimate bus tour that provides a glimpse of things to see and do in the city. On this particular day we stopped at a cemetery and a distillery.
Steve was very informative having learned a lot about the city from placards on buildings ( so he said) and probably from his wife who may have grown up in NO.
Note that there are numerous pickups in the city before the tour starts. I think all brochures indicate the same start time, with a parenthetical comment to allow an extra 30 minutes for pick up. We waited 30 minutes from our start time after arriving 15 minutes early. Luckily it wasn’t too hot

Our city and cemeteries tour was great, thanks to Derrick. We had a really bad tour with Royal Carriages where we payed the same amount for 1/3 of the time. Cajun Encounters and Derrick did such a better job. Derrick kept the history coming with his own insights and answered our questions. We went through the city in order of development, stopped at the St. Louis Cemetery #3, the authentic Cafe du Monde experience in City Park, not that crap cafe in the French Quarter. We love what we learned from Derrick about the city and its people.

Karen, our bus driver was great! She was full of knowledge. We learned a lot about New Orleans. After, the tour she dropped several of us off near our next destination. In the days following the tour, we went back to City Park, the garden sculptures park, garden district and Frenchmen st. We would highly recommend this tour and company.

Booked this tour on a whim, but so glad I did. Derek is the best tour guide I've ever had. He was so informative and taught me so much about New Orleans. The tour led us through all the neighborhoods of New Orleans, stop and let us look through one of the cemeteries, and stopped at the famous Cafe Du Monde. I was blown away by the experience and would recommend it to anyone. 11/10

Tour guide was very knowledgeable and interesting to listen to the whole time. We learned so much from him. It's a nice overview of the city and gave us ideas on places we should go back to explore on foot. The cemetery visit was the highlight. Our guide gave so many interesting details and explanations. I wish we'd had a bit more time there to look around but traffic delayed us a bit that day. However, that's not on the tour company - they can't control traffic, and it was still worth every penny! We still had plenty of time to look around a bit after the guided portion.

This tour is perfect to allow you to see so much of the city and learn some history. We were only in town one day and wanted to see as much and learn as much as we could so it was a great way to spend a couple hours (in air conditioning)! Derek was our driver. He was very informative and a very personable guy. He added some good humor along the way too! He’s a hometown guy as well and was able to give some helpful hints. There are two stops, one of which allows you the chance to get a beignet!! Well worth the money!

Took the City & Cemetery Tour this morning. Derek, our driver & your guide, was awesome. Great information on NOLA as well as really good advice on restaurant dining - pick just about any restaurant and ask for their specialty.

We got picked up on Canal Street across from the hotel we stayed in. Renee, our tour guide, is very knowledgeable about the history and the locations in the city. I did not care about the cemetery too much (still a very nice to see)- what I liked about the trip is to see all the beautiful houses in the different districts of New Orleans and listening to Renee explain the history and anecdotes around them! After the cemetery, we went to Cafe Du Monde and grabbed some beignets. Thank you Renee for showing us around! Would definitely recommend the tour for tourists who are not very familiar with the city!

What a great bus tour of the city and the cemetery. Our driver Butch was very knowledgeable about the history of the city and made the trip interesting and fun. This is good to do if you’ve never been here so you can decide where to spend more time later. I definitely recommend this tour and they are open and social distancing so it was also a safe trip.
