I would recommend this tour for anyone who likes to get spooky! This was my family and I’s first time in NOLA and this was a great way to learn some history and about the haunted sites around the city. During the day, we had walked down the same streets as the tour and we had no idea that we were walking among some of the most haunted places in the city. Our tour guide was Spooky Rob and he did a fantastic job educating us on each site and giving us a photo opportunity to catch some ghosts. If you are coming to New Orleans, this tour should be one of the things you add to your list of things to do!

Some of the reviews don’t seem to understand that the hosts don’t actually need to be ghosts, or murderers at large. They’re paid to tell you stuff about some buildings in an engaging way. If you need someone to dress in a dinner jacket to do that, you’re probably going to feature in one of their stories in future.
On that note, our host Mack doesn’t come across like a brutal murderer, despite carrying a knife that was bigger than my desktop trackball. In fact, he was the most trustworthy person carrying a borderline-machete I’ve encountered. Throughout the tour he kept the entire group interested, horrified, and laughing, sometimes all at once. He’s mastered his craft and was worth every tip. At the end, he even gave the group some useful advice about the incoming hurricane.

Chris did a phenomenal job with us. He had a great route, knew each key location and spoke very naturally without needing to read off notes. He was very intuitive with our group and our interest and told very detailed stories surrounding the incidents of historic importance. We covered all that was advertised. I’d highly recommend you request Chris for your next tour, you will not be disappointed.

The good: everyone who worked for the tour company was lovely to deal with. We got to see a lot of the French Quarter. We heard a some good stories.
The bad: Friday in October is a crazy time to go on one of these tours and there is a lot I won’t blame the tour company for. For instance, there were SO many other tours and it was very loud, none of which was their fault. However, I do think some of the craziness could have been cut down by not having groups as large as ours. There were *28* people in our group! This made it very difficult to stay together, hear our guide, stay off the sidewalk, etc. While I also don’t blame the group size on the tour guide and I felt bad for her having to wrangle so many people, I think she could have done a better job at pulling the group together and waiting until everyone was in earshot, before starting in on instructions or stories. There were several times I was trying to just get close enough to hear and by the time I got close, she was wrapping up and moving onto the next location. I felt very rushed and that she was trying to speed through the whole experience. I don’t think a single story or stop was longer than 90 seconds. I understand that a big challenge is trying to get to all the spots while corralling the group, but we passed other tour groups where the guides were spending more time going into details and I felt we were just buzzing around. Lastly, I am sure that the bar where we did our mid-point stop is part of the tour itinerary, but there were probably 4-5 other tour groups there at the same time. It was way too busy, so we just waited outside. Again, I don’t blame the guide, but I think there should be a back up plan.
I’ve been on a ghost tour in NO before years ago and that was a much better experience overall. I wish I had remembered the name of that company because I felt I walked away with so many more in depth stories and a great understanding of the history of the neighborhood. So many of the downsides are not the fault of the tour company, but I would recommend that they reconsider their group sizes and have their guides provide better instruction, wait for people to get close enough to hear, and not rush through the stories. Also, to anyone looking to book a tour, do NOT book on a Friday night.

Robby was cranky and unprofessional from the moment we started, swore at our group (using the F word to curse at some of the group), and was pissy and disinterested. It's telling that multiple people from 2 different parties left the tour early. I think from the 12 people who originally started with the group, he got a grand total of one $10 tip from a drunk woman. I've been on this tour before with a better guide, but this one was terrible.

I have been to NOLA many times and always enjoy a ghost tour. My friend was a first time visitor and I booked the VIP tour with only 15 people so we wouldn’t have to try to hear the guide in a large group. Our guide, Graham, was a knowledgeable historian, but he seemed very introverted. We could hear him without issue, but he spoke softly and always stayed far away from other tour groups so that he wouldn’t have to raise his voice. That meant we would stand sometimes as far as a block away, unable to see the building he was talking about. His speech was memorized, and if he was interrupted by traffic or a wedding procession (which happened twice at one location) he would have to start over at the beginning. Most of the stories had nothing to do with the subject matter and he managed to make the story of the LaLaurie mansion boring. I appreciated that he studied primary historical sources, but reciting the story from the newspaper following the event made it tedious and dry. We paid premium prices for this tour and we kept hoping it would improve (or he’d actually tell a ghost story, which he finally did at the end), or we would have left in the first half hour. Sadly, it never did and at times is was painful and I felt embarrassed for him. Some people should just not be tour guides.

The tour guide was nice and friendly and seemed to really enjoy her job. There were two good stories that she shared that were interesting and provided enough detail to really understand the building we were looking at and what happened there.
Other than that, I was disappointed to be honest. With all the good reviews, I expected a more authentic experience. Our group had 24 people in it - to be on the sidewalk with a group that size in NOLA (with all the traffic and music) just made it almost impossible to get close and hear anything. They need to really cut down the size of these tours and cap them at about 10-12 people max. Most of the time, other than the two stories/stops I mentioned, the tour itself was a bit scattered - I’d hear random comments from the guide about people passing by or about a store that sells something, but not really a coherent and cohesive story about our stop. Partly is May have been the difficulty in hearing her and partly it was because there just wasn’t a well thought out description of what happened of significance at this location.
It’s a relatively short tour, so I would recommend that they skip the stop at a local bar for us to buy a drink, because if I wanted a drink, I could do that before or afterward. Just stick to the tour, give some great insight and tell some stories, maybe be a bit theatrical about it for fun and definitely make the groups smaller so that we aren’t simply being herded around without getting to participate, learn and have fun.

Thank you so much for the feedback. Unfortunately, this time of year in the Quarter is extremely busy and the demand for tours is incredibly high. The smaller the group sizes, the more tour guides there are on the street making it even louder and more difficult to hear the guides.
We do the bar break because the vast majority of our guests want to stop for a quick drink. We do value your feedback and will do our best to offer a better experience to our guests moving forward! Thanks, again!

My experience with the tour wasn't great, but that isn't necessarily a reflection of the company or the guide.
Someone on our 8 PM tour passed out in the first 10 minutes, and so the group/tour paused (and rightly so) for 30+ minutes. That threw off the rest of the tour in both mood and timing. We did not make up the time, and 15 minutes of the remaining hour or so was dedicated to getting a self-pay drink at Jean Lafitte's bar. We then had to hold a group vote as to what parts of the tour to cut so we could still be done by 10 pm.
Our guide, Gwydion, clearly relished his role as a performer and storyteller, but the combination of his unique oration style, the traffic, and the tapping of his metal-ended cane made it difficult to hear what he was saying. I did enjoy talking with him as we walked between sites, and he handled the early snafu well.
This could've been a very fun tour, but our tour experience was definitely not worth $30/person.

Really disappointing. Having done many ghost tours before I was excited to try this one as it is highly rated. We booked the 18+ adults only tour which was more expensive and seemed no different or more descriptive than doing the regular tour option. Guide also did not take us to or cover the New Orleans Pharmacy Museum or witches which is outlined to be included in this tour. The only voodoo that was mentioned was 1 historical fact about Jackson Square which was (including other locations) referenced to but not explicitly pointed out when we past them. Stop at Lafitte's Blacksmith Shop Bar did not include any spooky history. Would like to request a refund.

I would give negative stars if possible. I have been on tours in New Orleans, Charleston and Savannah. This tour was the worst. All of the ghost tours started at the same location and took the same route. This cause our guide to miss stops and we had constant interruptions. Which really didn't matter because our guide walked us around and said "this is haunted" then moved on to the next location. There was no back story or story at all to the places. This was 100% a waste of our money and really upset we for wasting our money and time. The entire French Quarter is haunted. I was looking for some stories and places to take pictures of. The guide was so worried about getting us to the bar that she sped walked the entire time. The website made a note about the Pharmacy Museum that would make you think they take you inside but they do not. They also have a "special drink" but they dont tell you before hand that the bar only takes cash. This company alone sold 300 tickets for their tour that night. That doesn't include all the other tours with other companies that were happening at the same time. At least some of the guides on other tours seemed to be actually telling stories. I would suggest choosing a different company!

Hi there-- the information provided to you before the tour via text and during the intro, as well as the know before you go and FAQ information, let everyone know that this is an outdoor walking tour and that the bar may be cash only, but there is, of course, an ATM for anyone who needs cash for drinks or a tip.
We appreciate your feedback and we're so sorry you didn't enjoy your experience-- please reach out to us so we can discuss your issue further. Thank you.

No mosquitoes on my tour in October. The only thing I can add in addition to the other responses already posted is that you should make sure you have a good pair of walking shoes.

Contact them directly to ask. I would think free, but you never know. On a side note, I would recommend a one year old on a night tour be carried in a body carrier of some kind as opposed to stroller since many streets aren't even and it's night time in a party city. Have fun!
