We were so lucky with the weather in winter! Beautiful blue skies and to be in shorts! We did the afternoon 2.30pm departure and surprised how busy and how many people this boat took. The queues were long! I’d bought tickets online but you had to still show the email at the ticket office to get paper tickets which seemed pointless to me in todays digital world. We sat up on the top deck with the jazz band and still managed to get chairs on the edge so a great view all the way up the Mississippi. We were sat on the right side too as most of the cruise is going downstream so looking forward sit on the left as the commentary mainly relates to what you see on the New Orleans city side and not the Algiers side. It was a very pleasant 2hrs but lucky we had the sun!!

this was a full day adventure starting early in the morning with our coach bus tour of the french quarters and surrounding neighborhoods including a cemetery, monuments historical buildings and the french market. returning to bus terminal we shortly boarded the historical NATCHEZ steamboat for our cruise on the mississippi river. our cruise was narrated with many interesting historical tidbits about the river and new orlean's history. we had food and drinks and we delighted in the wonderful summer sun and the gulf breeze

The tour was very quick but informative - although I would probably prefer more stops and more time to walk / look around at every stop. The boat ride was long but not really interesting as it just goes down the river with not much to see along the way. Seemed like most people went straight to the bar for beer and snacks. Over all okay for the price paid and pretty much met the expectations. However, I would not do this tour again.

Kendrick was our guide and bus driver. Super funny and very helpful. I had a walker with me and he was right there to help at every stop!! You can tell he loves what he does and he shares his knowledge of New Orleans for 2.5 hours. Had a wonderful time and learned a lot.....just probably won't remember it for very long! Good photo ops as well. Thank you Ken!!

We did both activities in one day (9 am bus tour, 11:30 cruise). The Bus Tour portion was very rushed to make sure we would make the cruise; we had very little time at both stops (cemetery and city park). We did not even have time to get anything to eat at the city park, which was a disappointment. Our driver was very knowledgeable and talked the whole time as he passed different landmarks; he was very entertaining.

The cruise was OK. We did not get the buffet (it was sold out), but they had snacks (hot dogs, nacho chips, jambalaya, etc.). The announcer talked as we passed different landmarks for the first 30-45 minutes. The jazz band (they sounded good) played the rest of the trip. We were back at the dock by 1:30.

If I had to do it all over again, I would have just taken the cruise and skipped the bus tour.

Booked on TA, but there was no place to order the buffet lunch on the cruise. Bought the lunch separately the day before the cruise and it cost an extra $4 (for a total of $17 per). The morning City was OK but rather hurried since three people were more than 15 minutes late and we had to wait for them. We were supposed to be back in time for the cruise at 11 but didn't get back till 11:25. By the time we boarded the vessel it was 11:30. We were then informed that we had 30 minutes to eat in the supposedly all you can eat buffet. Felt like I was back in the military trying to wolf down my food before I got booted out of the dining hall. The food was mediocre at best. The catfish was tough as shoe leather - how can you get make catfish that tough?? The only decent things were the rice and beans and the bread pudding.

The vessel was extremely crowded and it was next to impossible to get a good seat on deck unless you went down to the lowest deck. Even then it was a bit crowded.

The whole thing was stressful and unfulfilling. 😐

Wasn't really sure what to expect, but this was a very informative and fun combination. It was easy to find and the bus and boat leave from the same location which is very convenient. We didn't know if the 9:00 bus trip would be back in time for the 11:30 steamboat ride, but it sure was! We were able to get both tours in before our delicious lunch in the French Quarter.

This four-hour tour is a great way to see a lot of New Orleans including the river in a short time. Our guide was knowledgeable and provided many tidbits that piqued our interest for further exploration. The first two hours were on land, then we boarded the steamboat for the last two hours. I wish we could have had a bit longer on land and a bit shorter time on the river, but enjoyed the whole experience regardless.
