- 920lesleyo0 contributionsFun and informative!Ariadne Blayde gave a great tour! Very informative and fun! Loved the dad jokes too! My family and I enjoyed it and she even went after the crazy drivers from SC who tried to hit us on the curb. Seriously though, she was awesome! Would definitely take another tour led by her!Written December 2, 2024
- SisterMarytheBarbara0 contributionsPotty stops on the drinking tour are GREAT!Totally worth the money and the time. Carolyn (we think that was her name but ya know…it’s NOLA and we were drinking before, during, and after.). Great stories and info and stops and my new three favorite bars in NO! Great stories about ghosts, history, Code Noir, fires, separate kitchens, pirates, booze, murder, and more! And the toilet at the last bar is good (except for the giant step up, but that is forgiven because the stickers on the back of the stall door more than make up for it).Written December 2, 2024

First of the definition of vampire is a creature that drinks blood. One minute our guide would be extolling the vampire clans existent currently in New Orleans (along with voodoo and witches) and how she likes the community but real vampires do not drink blood but you just said the definition of a vampire is as a blood drinker. Which is it? “Vampires get a bad wrap”but then turns around and tells a story of a serial killer who drinks blood and has super human strength. Which is it? Are they murderers or do they just get a bad wrap?
Then let’s throw in the Catholic Church and how it’s their fault for perpetrating vampire myths because Catholics have bad bad dark beliefs. But wait vampires have existed far longer than 2000 years so exactly how does such a young institution influence one that is supposedly so much older? It was somewhat entertaining but really more aggravating. the people who eat that stuff up have serious identity problems. I feel so sorry for their level of stupidity. So basically don’t drink the kool-aid like the stupid people in the back! Take everything said with a grain of salt! For the smart ppl out there don’t waste your time do a little research and form your own opinion.

Thank you for your review. Most of the reviews we receive on this tour are quite complimentary. I spoke with the tour guide and she wondered why you didn't ask her these questions directly while on the tour. There is an easy explanation and she could have easily responded to these questions while on the tour had you asked. The tour is an evolution of the vampire creature in different novels, cultures as well as present day. We discuss the truth, the history, and how it is so diverse. You also seem to be putting down an entire subculture toward the end of your review. And by the way, your tour guide IS a practicing Catholic. Your guide did tell me that everyone else seemed to enjoy the tour and tipped her quite well. But again, we thank you for your commentary.

This was our second tour with this company after having a great experience with the Haunted History tour. My daughter chose the vampire tour and was really looking forward to it! When we met our guide, we were really excited. He kinda fit the character of a "vampire in New Orleans" look. He had long hair and wore a vest and had a walking stick. His name, most likely made up?, sounded like a vampire name. As we took off in the darkness, we were really excited. Our first stop was in between the church in an alley. As we all lined up, "Quidian (sp?) began to give us his speech. Enter continual hair swinging and gyrations mixed with this made up accent that made everything he said completely incoherent. As he rambled on, the only parts we picked up were the reused jokes, and "off the cuff" remarks that were exactly as delivered from the previous tour. Everything else was completely unintelligible. We spent quite a bit of time in that alley...15 to 20 minutes it seemed...and I don't believe there was a single reason we were standing in that location other than it was separate from the other ongoing tours? Having said all that, the parts of the tour we did understand were very interesting and entertaining. At the midpoint of the tour, we were led to the same bar that we were led in the previous tour. I was beginning to wonder if there was some sort of pre arrangement between the bar and the tour company? Our tour went past the hour and a half tour timeframe-obviously, it was a mark of our guides passion and knowledge of his subject matter-it was just too bad that the knowledge stayed safely with our guide as many tour attendees were also having trouble with the made up accent. I think this tour guide has the ability to be one of the most fantastic historians and best tour guide in the French quarter. Please lose that silly accent so we common folk can ascertain what you're saying!

Thank you for your review. In reading your commentary, it would appear that overall, you enjoyed the tour and found the guide to be an excellent historian and we’ll informed, as well as ‘looking the part and being in character. Your main complaint seems to be what you perceive to be as a made up accent. I can assure you, this is exactly the way this particular Tour Guide speaks, on or off ‘stage’. As to your bar break, I can assure you that we have no affiliation or connection with any of the bars in the French Quarter. Our guides simply are familiar with which pubs they can enter and exit with their tour group without the bar being so crowded that it takes up unnecessary time on the tour. After all, the bar break is simply meant as a break for tour participants to use the restroom or go an a drink.

Let me just say! Our guide was awesome! I was ready to hear some info I had not read about before! I didn’t want a cheesy full OS tour guide! Boy did this guide deliver. The town of Nola is practically empty bc the mayor basically has closed everything down! So the streets are not filled with jazz in fact their super quiet! Which made it so creepy! I am fascinated by folklore! So I was all in! He’s professional and a gifted storyteller alone with giving the true history and/or legend of my adopted city! I highly suggest you take this tour! Ask for Bobby and you will not go wrong! The accent makes it a even more meaningful experience. He’s down to Earth and real with you on hear say and truth! We are booking another the day before we leave!

The Vampire Tour was awesome! Our tour guide, Gwydion (I think) was amazing!!! His charismatic personality made the tour a lot of fun. While his theatrical storytelling was superb, his knowledge of New Orleans history and folklore added an excellent historically educational component to the event. Top-notch! I rank this a NOLA must-do activity. This tour greatly exceeded my family's expectations.

This was my first tour with this company and it was great!
Gideon (sp?) has long hair, wore all black, carried a walking stick with him the entire time, and has a distinct way of speaking (he is the guy in the Trip Advisor picture wearing a purple vest. I was assured by other tour guides that it is not an accent and that’s how he normally talks) which I recognize may not be everyone’s cup of tea. It was difficult at first to understand everything he was saying since his voice rose up and down very quickly but I eventually got used to it.
His captivating stories starting with the origin stories of vampires across different cultures to present day and theatrical style of storytelling combined with his deep knowledge of New Orleans history, mythology, and folklore behind vampires made him a fantastic tour guide.
He took us to Lafitte's Blacksmith Shop Bar for a short break in the middle and provided drink recommendations where he gave us about 15 minutes to get a drink or chill out before we resumed our walking tour.
Wish the tour could've been longer!

Bobby was our guide and he blew us away with his stories and passion. His accent definitely helped the atmosphere of the tour. He told the stories without being overly theatrical and held our attention the entire time. I love that this tour had real and verifiable stories. If I didn’t believe in vampires before, I would say Bobby made me a believer!

Bobby was our tour guide and when you have a tour guide from Transylvania for a vampire tour you just KNOW it’s going to be great and he did not disappoint.
Bobby was very knowledgeable and explained real things about vampirism and not what’s shown on TV and movies.
Also, Bobby was VERY professional when we had a member of our group who brought a small child who was constantly interrupting while his father would go across the street to make phone calls and texts. He offered the man a chance to reschedule or get a refund but to no avail.
Thanks Bobby for providing us with an excellent experience!!

Toast was our guide for this tour. He did a phenomenal job. He was extremely knowledgeable about the history of Vampires in New Orleans, but also of New Orleans itself. He did a great job of pointing out things, making sure everyone was up to speed, answering any questions etc. Overall a very fun experience and if you get a guide like Toast who is as connected to the city and tour, you will enjoy it as well.

Charmaine was awesome. So knowledgeable of vampire folklore. She kept the tour very entertaining and creepy at times, by no means on her behalf lol. She mixed it up with old school, new school and a little bit of everything. She even told us stories that I wasn’t familiar with, and trust me, I’m familiar with a lot of NOLA stories. We got lucky and it was just 4 people on the tour, so it felt like a private tour. Cool fact that she’s a descendant of the casket girls. I recommended this vampire tour to everyone.

Rose was an excellent guide. We come from the land of vampires and boogie stories so our expectations weren't really high. However, the minute Rose started talking, we became completely mesmerized and captivated by the stories and the passion she put into this. The tour is amazing and we couldn't have asked for a better night exploring the spooky and un-wrestling stories of New Orleans.

It has been my dream a very long time to become a vampire, Not until i met Marian jane whom directed me in locating the vampire clan, And i was able to meet a vampire lord that transformed me and reawaken me from my weak human cells into an active strong cells that turned me fully into a vampire overnight. I was happy that i will be receiving the vampire blood and ring and sooner before i knew it i received it and now i am happy to be among the 3rd clans in the vampire kingdom, I can now do everything that i have always dreamt of doing, And no longer need to be afraid of any harm or growing old to die. I am immortal and know that i will live even in next 10,000 years to come. All thanks to the great vampire lord. You are guarantee riches and also fame when you have the powerful ring protecting you from harm and sun light effect. I wont be writing these online if i haven't experienced these great changes, I have had 5 promotions at my place of work ever since i am a vampire and have been begged to even worked in other companies and earn more money, But all these i do not need because vampires are contented with everything they have and we never need money as we already have it. I will stop here and let you all decide on the steps to take in your life. But have it in mind whatever you desire will come true when you contact the vampire lord. His email is Vampirelordtransformerchanging @ gmail . com
