About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Stephanie H0 contributionsPrivat Champa Day TourThich is a super knowledagble about Champ and Vietnam history. He’s local born in quy nhon so he has unique knowledge that you can’t find anywhere. And super awesome service for a private day champ tour :)Written August 27, 2024
- lucysH3367VB0 contributionsFantastic snorkelling and Champa tower tour.We took a snorkelling trip with our three children 10, 8 & 6 with Thich. He was really engaging for the children giving us plenty of information about the local area on the way to the dive site. On the way back to town we stopped at the Champa Twin Tower monument and Thich was able to again fill us in on all of the important information without being too long winded. He even engaged our youngest daughter in her play at the site and made her a bracelet out of the grass and leaves she was playing with. I would highly recommend Thich’s tours for families.Written June 25, 2024
- Excursion300674380010 contributionsEssential Guide for Multi-day Stay near Quy NhonThich provided a half-day tour for us to visit Ki Co beach from the Anantara Quy Nhon. This was a privte tour with a driver and Thich as the guide. He described the history of the area, the way people lived, and the reasoning behind the developments along the way. Thich's English is very good, and his knowledge and candor are particularly helpful in understanding the Quy Nhon area of Vietnam, and relating it to the country in general. While at the beach, which is picturesque, though the weather was mostly overcast on the day we visited, he guided us on little decisions on logistics - where to sit, where to take photos, when to visit to avoid crowds, showing his understanding of his guests' experiences and needs. We hired Thich two more times that week, for another half-day trip around Quy Nhon and a transfer to the airport from another hotel. For the former, we were introduced to various villagers and craftsmen and given our choice of several restaurants to try with different cuisisne- all which Thich could personally recommend. For the latter, we save about half the cost of the transfer fare the hotel quoted. For our 3 separate excursions, the vehicles were different model SUVs in very good condition and relatively new. The value of guides like these- and trips - become more important the longer you stay near Quy Nhon. Many of the hotels are relatively remote, it's difficult to walk anywhere, and rental cars and mopeds are not an option. For those who desire even a couple hours break from several days of relaxing at a resort, Thic's services are as good as could be desired. Book in advance to ensure his personal availability, and be prepared to learn more about Vietnam history, martial arts, culture, and more.Written March 17, 2024
- chasingthevine0 contributionsThích Tours Was a Highlight of Our Visit to VietnamWe met Thích through the Anantara Hotel in Quy Nhon. He was a preferred vendor and guide. We went out with him twice, changing our schedule the second day so we could have him personally as our guide. On day 1, we went to Ky Co beach, had a seafood lunch and went to see a famous cliff view. The second day, we did a cultural tour to rice paper making village, the champra towers, and a pagoda, then had lunch in a small village known for fermented pork. Both days were outstanding in part because Thich’s English is excellent but also because he’s incredibly knowledgeable about the history of his country and the opportunities and challenges of tourism both in Vietnam and in Binh Dinh province. We appreciated his candor and his hard-working character. Highly recommend booking with him. Also, I’m a professional travel journalist and writer so I know what I’m talking about:)Written March 16, 2024

- Paul M0 contributionsQuy Nhon Vietnam day tripThích provided us with a fantastic day trip of the area complete with loads of historical data and an overwhelming sense of pride that he has for his beautiful country. We literally could have wandered around for days with Thích and his driver and not once be bored. The rice wine area was simple and unique and the family business where we visited were very welcoming and kind (wine was off the scale strong but well worth the cultural trip to try it). The visit to a local hat maker was also very good and we were amazed at the level of craftsmanship that is required to produce a traditional Vietnamese hat. Also worth noting is the breadth of knowledge that Thích displayed concerning the Champa culture. His knowledge base is huge and he was able to answer every single question that we had. If you are in the Quy Nhon area, you owe it to yourself to take a day trip with Thích and his team. You will not regret it!Written December 27, 2023
- L3535QNlindas0 contributionsWonderful Trip with an Excellent Guide. With excellent service and vast knowledge of Vietnam, heart warming & fond memories were created with the help of Thich. All arrangements were communicated & made prior to our trip with Thich via whatsapp. All we had to do is to book our flight & Thich was there to take care of every single thing - from the moment we stepped out of airport in Hanoi to our departure at the same airport. Thich (with his very responsible & trusty driver) took care of us - 6 ladies with average age of 60 yrs for 8 days, brought us around Hanoi, Sapa, Halong Bay, Ninh Binh & back to Hanoi. We learned so much from Thich, enjoyed our trip in Style & had fabulous memories. It was every penny well spent. This will definitely not be our last trip to Vietnam with Thich. In fact, we are already planning for our next.Written December 20, 2023
- balanda0 contributionsInformative and fascinating tour of artisanal local villages and cultural sites with enthusiastic, knowledgeable guide. We had a fantastic half day tour with Thích during our recent stay in Qui Nhon. We had wanted to get an idea of local industries, particularly those artisanal that might slowly be being lost as Vietnam modernises. Thích and his driver took us to two such villages. In the first we met a family who have been making steel knives for generations. The insight into the work that went into production of the knives and the small recompense for such exacting toil was humbling. In the second village we met a man who has been making rice-wine for decades, the process having been copied from the French in the days locals were prohibited from making wine. Again, the insight into the process and the rewards was illuminating. Our tour finished with a visit to local Champa monuments and then diner at a local restaurant. Throughout the tour Thích was an enthusiastic, knowledgeable and entertaining guide. He is obviously very proud of his local country and keen to ensure that you leave with a much greater appreciation of Qui Nhon, its history and its people. We would definitely recommend a local tour with Thích to anyone visiting Qui Nhon.Written December 2, 2023

His knowledge, stories & jokes make our long journey to Sapa & back to Hanoi enjoyable. His service is excellent, prices reasonable & really enjoyed his company. - AndyK2020 contributions6 hour tour of Quy Nhon areaOur tour with Thich was organised via our hotel. Together with his driver Thich took us on a 6 hour tour of the local area visiting places that we would otherwise not have gone to which were of historical and cultural significance to the area. To finish we were taken to lunch at a local restaurant to try some interesting rice paper rolls. All in all a fascinating day.Written November 22, 2023
- 1travelex0 contributionsAn Amazing Customized Experience!I highly recommend Thich Tours (pronounced Tick). We needed Thich for a custom tour that no one had ever requested. Thich is very knowledgeable about the area. His English is excellent. We felt safe everywhere we went. All of Vietnam felt safe. We met with Thich the day before our tour. Once he knew what we wanted, he arranged for a car and driver. He had various-sized vehicles available to us. Both Thich and the driver asked very fair prices for their services. Our driver was very safe. As we drove, Thich told us about the area, the city, the farmers, and the lobster farmers. He answered our questions and was our interpreter at the various places we stopped. Throughout our tour, the driver stopped anywhere we wanted to take pictures. The following is the rest of our story: I approached the very helpful front desk staff at the Fleur De Lys Hotel with an unusual request. I needed someone who could help me with the region's history because my father was there in 1966 as an officer on a US Navy submarine. My father was with us on this trip. He wanted to visit the village where he picked up two families and 75 South Vietnamese soldiers. The soldiers rode on the top deck of the submarine while they were transported to a beach 50 miles south. Before our trip, Dad was able to locate the village, which has grown into the town of Xuan Thanh. He wanted to visit a pagoda he remembered seeing from the deck, Thanh That Song Cau. At one of the pagodas we visited, they were celebrating the Autumn Harvest Festival. We respectfully kept our distance, but the elders came out, took our hands, and pulled us into the pagoda to celebrate and visit with them. It was an amazing, beautiful, spontaneous experience that we will never forget. As an added bonus, Thich took us to the island of Dao Nhat Tu Son. My daughter, Thich, and I walked across the low-tide land bridge to the island. Later, we stopped at a seaside restaurant for refreshments. Quy Nhon is a quiet, little-known beach city that will be filled with tourists in 10+ years. We arrived by train from Hanoi and flew to Ho Chi Minh City on Vietnam Airlines. It was a fantastic trip. Thank you, Thich!Written November 12, 2023
- ZoeyH610 contributionsHighly recommendGreat experience from start to finish, Thích was very responsive and the tour was easy to book, he was happy to help accommodate our needs with very young children (4 and 2), turned up on time, transfers (from boat to car and back again) were seamless and had a very pleasant personality. Thích was also very fluent in English which made communication a breeze. We booked a private tour of the Con Chim ecological zone where we toured the area on a boat and did some paddle boarding in very calm waters, watching huge flocks of birds flying back for the evening. If you are looking for somewhere off the beaten track this is ideal, we were the only tourists there. Could not recommend this highly enough!Written October 15, 2023

Thich was friendly, professional and fun to have as a guide in an area that we would have struggled to make the most of without knowing the language. He gave us an overview of the culture, the history of the area as well as the stories about the pagodas and temples we visited, including the Cham ruins. We went to a beautiful beach and then to try some local dishes for lunch. The driver was also great; comfortable, air conditioned car and we had professional, reliable and prompt communication when customising and booking the tour. We managed to book last minute but recommend getting a tour at the start of your time in Quy Nhon to understand the area and the history before exploring on your own. Thich also took some lovely photos of us on my phone. Highly recommend supporting this local business!

Thich was amazing!! We had only been in Vietnam for a few hours and booked a private tour with him to see a few Champa temples outside of Quy Nhon city. We came to the area because we wanted to learn more about the history of the temples and Thích was such a knowledgeable guide! He taught us so much about the Champa and Vietnamese cultures, the history throughout multiple wars and its affect on the country, influence of outside forces on the Buddhist practices and so much more. It was such a rich way to see already incredible structures with a guide who could go deep in the history and tell us all the stories. As two people from the States who speak no Vietnamese, Thích could clearly articulate anything we wanted to know and we appreciated his help navigating the sites.
In between temples, we stopped at a delicious spring roll restaurant where he showed us the proper way to build our own spring rolls and encouraged us to try unfamiliar foods.
Not to be ignored, the driver was great and had a nice, clean car and provided us with plenty of water throughout the hot day.
I only wish we had found his company sooner to book more than one tour with him - we really enjoyed his guidance and his companionship throughout the day.

We wanted to get a flavour of the crafts and history around the Quy Nhon area and our hotel recommended and arranged our tour with Thich.
We enjoyed such an amazing tour with him and it was brilliant to see his genuine love and support for local craftspeople and artisans.
He had great depth of knowledge and was able to enthusiastically answer any questions, as well as explain the history and politics of the region and country.
We loved seeing local rice wine being made and wow was it powerful stuff to drink.
The craft of conical hat making was fascinating and I remain in awe of the skill of the maker. No cheap tourist tat here, just quality and craftsmanship.
We rounded off with a trip to local temples ( some amazing views) and an excellent Vietnamese lunch .
I would highly recommend a tour with Thich to anyone visiting the area.

Stayed at Anatara in Quy Nhon and heard about Thich's tour. My husband and I decided to book and were so happy we did! Thich was awesome and he helped us customize our perfect itinerary for the day including the rice wine village, hat making village, and lunch at a resturant specializing in local dishes. The tour ran so smooth from pick up to drop off. Thich was so knowledgeable about the Vietnamese culture and history. He was super personable and his English was also great! I loved how unique this tour was and that it helps the local people as well! Would highly recommend.

We had a private tour with Thich. He speaks excellent English and is really knowledgeable about the area which is where he’s from.
His passion for promoting the area and particularly its heritage is inspiring. Highlights of the tour were meeting people who make local rice wine and others who make the famous conical hats. These are skills to be treasured and it’s great how Thich is showing them to visitors and in doing so, hopefully helping to preserve them.
Quy Nhon is still relatively undiscovered in comparison to other parts of Vietnam. It’s definitely worth visiting and when you do, book a tour with Thich. He’s a great guide

Ms Yen (Alluvia, Hoi An) while casually listening to me about my interest in visiting Champa towers in Quy Nhon, was kind enough to give me a contact for a private tour. Before coming to Viet Nam, I did some research, and made a map with all towers that are spread over the Quy Nhon area, knowing that at least one could be out of reach. I contacted Mr Thick and, after forwarding my map, in a few minutes arranged a custom-made tour that covered almost all of them. I arrived to Quy Nhon and Hanna was my guide, ans together with the driver, we hit the road. I fell in love with the Champa culture after visiting Mỹ Sơn a while ago, and this time decided to look for more. We were able to visit all towers, except one that did not allow us because of trespassing private property. So, I was able to notice some details that differentiate them from constructions spread all over the northern region of Siem Reap (Khmer culture, Cambodia). There was a phase when these two kingdoms shared a part in history. In all, it was a complete lecture on early Vietnamese culture. Now, I really wish that Vietnamese people start appreciating with pride of their past. I am also happy that some fellows had a similar interest as mine before.

Our tours with Thich were fantastic! Thich was a great guide, and the tours were interesting. On our first tour, we visited a conical hat-making village, rice wine village, and temple. We enjoyed every location, especially the hat-making. Mr. Lan is a talented artisan, and his hat-making skills are impressive. Our second tour included a salt village, Tu Son Island, and Da Dia Reef, all of which were beautiful and interesting! I highly recommend Thich tours for a fun and memorable experience!

We organised a last minute tour around the coastal areas and beaches of Quy Nhon.
Thich was an excellent guide and took us to some beautiful beaches and areas of interest.
We stopped and had lunch in a very good seafood restaurant near the beach.
Thich’s English is excellent and his knowledge of the area made the morning a real pleasure.
I could only highly recommend Thich if you need a private tour and guide.
He also has some other exciting tours that might be of interest to you.
