- 1Over the years, Lower Antelope Canyon has become a favorite gathering place for photographers, tourists, and visitors from around the world. The views in Lower Antelope Canyon change constantly as the sun moves across the sky, filtering lights softly across the stone walls. These ever-moving sun angles bounce light back and forth across the narrow canyon’s walls, creating a dazzling display of color, light, and shadow. The Navajo name for Lower Antelope Canyon is Hasdeztwazi or “Spiral Rock Arches.” Many years ago, herds of Pronghorn Antelope roamed freely in and around the canyon, which explains the English name. This incredible canyon has been created over millions of years by the relentless forces of water and wind, slowly carving and sculpting the sandstone into forms, textures, and shapes which we observe today.

- William S0 contributionsAmazing experience and tour guide!Beautiful area, awesome access and unique experience, a must see if in Page! - C3737HHpaulap0 contributionsnature’s artistry at its finestUpper Antelope Canyon at 3 PM was an absolutely magical experience! With only three other groups in the canyon, it felt peaceful and intimate, allowing us to fully immerse ourselves in the breathtaking beauty of this natural wonder. The way the sunlight poured through the narrow openings above created dramatic light beams that danced along the sandstone walls. The warm reds, oranges, and golds of the rock glowed brilliantly in the afternoon light, showcasing nature’s artistry at its finest. The smaller crowd made it easy to move through the canyon at a relaxed pace, giving us plenty of time to take photos and soak in the serenity without feeling rushed. Our guide was fantastic, sharing fascinating insights about the canyon’s history, geology, and Navajo culture while pointing out unique rock formations shaped over millions of years. The quiet moments, with only the sound of our footsteps and the occasional awe-filled whispers from other visitors, made the experience feel deeply personal and almost spiritual. If you’re planning to visit, aim for a time when it’s less crowded—it truly makes all the difference. Upper Antelope Canyon at this time of day is a sight you’ll never forget!Written January 22, 2025

Our guide Lemoine (sp?) was terrific, helping us get the best angles for pictures and fixing our phone settings for best results! - njomzao0 contributionsGood but not the bestThe place is amazing but the time when I went in the morning was not the best time cuz in the canyon was to dark and barely you could see smth or make nice pictures… the tour was also moving fast and to many people couldn’t make pictures without any people in it … I paid a lot and didn’t get to much …Written November 20, 2024
- Gary W0 contributionsGreat guide, great vehicle, money well spent.Great tour! Our guide Carson was extremely knowledgeable about the canyon, and more importantly how to shoot some amazing photo with my iPhone. They had better vehicles than some of the other cheaper companies.Written November 13, 2024
- 4dpkeith0 contributionsRead before you go.We visited Antelope Canyon because a number of family members had visited and told us "we had to see it"! Although we somewhat enjoyed it, it certainly didn't live up to the hype. You have to book through a company and it isn't cheap. CONS: 1) We made sure to reserve a tour around the 1:00 hour because that is when the sun shines in the canyon, BUT they don't tell you that the sun only shines in the canyon from April - August, not good for our October visit. 2) You ride in the back of an open-air truck down VERU bumpy dirt roads for about 20 minutes to get to the canyon. 3) There are a LOT of other groups there at the same time so keep an eye on your tour guide so you don't accidentally join a different group 4) The guides have a script and don't deviate from it so make sure to ask questions if you want to know more. PROS: 1) Our tour guide was really great. There are a few formations that are only noticeable from a photo. For anyone who wanted, she used our phones and took pictures for us. She also took a picture of anyone who wanted. 2) I asked some questions about the canyon and our guide was very knowledgeable. 3) The groups aren't huge. I think there were 12-14 in our group. If I were to do it again I would make sure to go between April and August Also, check the weather before you make a reservation. There are NO REFUNDS if you get rained out! Because the canyon is in a wash/arroyo if there is rain in the area that could fill the wash later they will cancel the tour.Written November 11, 2024
- Safari429792754300 contributionsFantastic, beautiful and fun adventureThe experience was great. The weather was cloudy but the canyon still had incredible colors. Not crowded which was a plus. Our Navajo guide was great sharing culture of Navajo and of the canyon. Newer open air all terrain vehicle . A big plus going to private area of Horseshoe Bend.Written November 5, 2024

- anthony c0 contributionsSouth rim Canyon visitWas a very last minute trip I booked night before, so I could squeeze in a quick visit to canyon. Was impressed from the getgo. Julianna the tour leader was extremely helpful & pleasant to deal with! Her approach made the bus journey pleasant....she may have a future in stand up comedy if tours stop...haha. Very well communicated throughout & everything seem to run as per schedule. Also they provided a bag for lunch/snacks which was ideal for traveller like myself who came unprepared! Cannot speak highly enough of this company & tour guide. Will definitely organise another trip with this crew, even a hike of the canyon on my next visit to the states. Well done! - R9445GLsuzannem0 contributionsWonderful adventureI booked this tour at the suggestion of a friend and am so glad that I did! Our guide Tyron was marvelous, informative and gracious. (My special thanks to him for his photographic skills) I also truly appreciated the insight he gave us into the local Navajo culture and daily lives. Our small group of 11 never felt crowded or rushed, we all got a chance to explore and take photos of the spectacular secret slot canyon. It is truly a hidden gem! We also really enjoyed our visit to Horseshoe Bend because we had private access to Indian land away from the usual crowd! I cannot recommend this tour enough. If you go - give our regards to "Frank". :)Written October 28, 2024

I am a photographer and wanted to book a photography tour but they were fully booked at the time so I booked with Dixie company and enjoyed every moment there our guide Jerry was amazing he was so informative and makes sure that everyone is happy and enjoying the trip . He would block the area for a moment so we can get a perfect picture . They put us in a small group only 10 people at the time which was amazing. I tried another company for the upper antelope canyon and it was horrible the tour guide was shouting every time we stop for a picture if he would give an information it would be limited and only to the ones next to him the whole group was complaining and didn't enjoy it at all.
I would highly recommend Dixies especially Jerry

Antelope Canyon is almost indescribable...the beauty is just unmatched. Our Navajo guide, Willard, was the best. Our group of 10 enjoyed his narrative, his help with photo taking and his patience especially guiding my husband and myself( two senior citizens) throughout the canyon. No rushing and the ability to stop numerable times to take in our surroundings and take numerous pics....😊...Lower Antelope Canyon is a must see and visit!

Navajo Guide Brendon was awesome. A truly spiritual place. Small tour group was good but due to the many tour groups going through the time for taking photos is limited. I will definitely try to go back another time.

I am reviewing Ken's Tour company, not the Canyon. The Canyon is gorgeous but see it with a different company. All the tour companies have rules that seem excessive, but I am not complaining about that as that is their right and the right of the Tribe. However, the NO BAGS rule would seem to apply to bags, not a dust cover for an expensive camera when they themselves warn you about dust. Said dust cover had 3 openings to allow for your hands to access the camera and the lens to protrude. it had clear plastic to see the screen and nothing in it aside from the camera. The customer contact level staff contacted the manager who clearly had no interest in thinking and just said no. When we explained its function and insisted it wasn't a "bag" we were advised that we "didn't need to go" on the tour. Having paid about $200 for the two of us we went without the camera and used our cell phones which ran out of battery since we didn't expect to use them. Turns out that the dust was very minimal and the cover likely unnecessary. Did the manager ask his staff about dust levels in the canyon that day for us? Nope. it was just take it or leave it and it left a very sour feeling for what should have been a great tour. The tour guide herself was very nice and the Canyon Gorgeous. However, there are many other Canyons in the area worthy of a visit for less money and with less officious arrogance.

Thanks for your feedback. It is the rule that no any kind of bags are allowed for the tour. We hope that every guest could respect the rule on the nation.

Lower Antelope Canyon tour was an amazing experience, almost beyond words beautiful, inspiring. The tour group using Ken’s Tours was small, 8 people, and our guide Mikaela, was exceptional - patient, informative, and takes great pictures at key beautiful points along the canyon of each person or couple or group. She was a wonderful part of the experience. This tour was “bucket list” level.

The slot canyon was beautiful. A great opportunity for pictures. Easy hike. My (TJ) guide needs to work on his description of the history and geology of the canyon. Educating your guides will make the hike just so much better.

We felt Lower Antelope Canyon tour was amazing!! We had a wonderful tour guide who we could tell "LOVED" his job! We couldn't say enough good things about this tour. It was simply "wonderful" in every way. The majority of people are able to take this tour unless they are unable to walk a flight of stairs at one time or climb a short ladder. Try it, you will LOVE it!!

My husband and I added a stop in Page, AZ to take a slot canyon tour on a recent trip that started in Vegas and included Grand Canyon, Zion and Bryce. This was a worthwhile addition! We arrived in Page the afternoon before and walked out to Horseshoe Bend. In the AM we had an 11:00 a.m. tour of Lower Antelope Canyon and its beauty is worth this stop. I know there are slot canyons in the other parks, but I didn't see ANYTHING like this. Our guide was good and even took some pictures for us.

My husband & I used Dixie's Lower
Antelope Canyon tour company and were very pleased. The canyon sights were amazing and our guide provided so much information. it was just about 100 degrees while were there, but the hike to the canyon is not that far or strenuous. We highly recommend taking the time to do the tour. Note: the tour involves multiple ladders/staircases: may be too challenging for those with knee issues.
