      Great tour, fantastic guide!
Frank was a very pleasant guide in terms of knowledge and personality! He told us a lot about the history of NYC and Brooklyn to help us understand Brooklyn. He stopped at a delicious and non-touristic pizza place for lunch. Very glad we did this tour with him, we enjoyed it very much and keep him in mind for a next trip to NYC! We advise everyone to take this great tour!

      Brooklyn by bike with Daniel
We had a private tour because we were just the two of us. And our guide, Daniel, could speak his mother tongue, Dutch. It was a relieve to stay outside the hustle and bustle. He showed us beautiful views. Thank you Daniel and sorry that Hilde scared you with a fall. Hilde & Anton, Belgium

Disappointing and mid-advertised. Save yourself $88.
We were excited for the tour as it was very well reviewed. However, we felt the tour was mid-sold as the real experience was very different from what was advertised on trip advisor. Here were some of the main elements missing: 1. Admission to Raaka chocolate factory + 20 min stop. 2. Admission to Widow Jane distillery + 20 mins stop. 3. Cadman plaza park incl. court houses 4. Plymouth church of the pilgrims 5. Brooklyn bridge park 6. Fort Greene Park 7. Cobble Hill, Court Street and Kane Street Also, a couple of other points of feedback: - It says the ticket covers admission to Prospect Park even though it’s free. - It says snacks will be provided but none were. Apart from the fact several stops were missed, including the two admissions, the other major disappointing factor was the guide. While the guide was pleasant, they provided limited history or information at any of the stops. So the experience is more like a guided bike ride than an informative tour. Given you can hire public bikes for less than $10, with very clear bike lanes, the added value of the tour guide is minimal. Additionally, one of the main reasons we picked the tour was because it included so many stops, especially the chocolate factory and distillery as breaks. We didn’t get the chance to go to either even though I asked when we went past them. The guides response was “we haven’t gone there in ages” and “I’ve never seen the website”. That made the 2-hour section around Red Hook feel entirely pointless. In the end, the tour felt like a continuous 4 hour bike ride with a lunch break, rather than a varied and informative tour with breaks. To top things off, the company has ignored all our efforts to contact them via email and phone to request a partial-refund. So, customer service appears to be unimportant. I would strongly advise people to save their $88 and take a public bike along the waterfront.

Amazing tour of Brooklyn. 10/10 would recommend!
What an amazing bike tour! I’m a cyclist so I was a little hesitant to book this tour as I’ve not had great experiences with organized bike tours. I decided to give it a try and I’m so glad I did! I got lucky and was the only one to book the tour that day but Brooklyn Giro held that reservation and I ended up with a private tour! My guide was great! The tour was a little longer than advertised and we stopped for coffee and grabbed a sandwich and had lunch on the pier overlooking Staten Island, Statue of Liberty and downtown Manhattan. I learned a bunch along the way. I’m already trying to plan a return trip so I can do the all day Manhattan tour. 10/10 would recommend Brooklyn Giro! I had a blast!

Definitely do this when you’re in Brooklyn
The whole experience was fab, who knew that Brooklyn was so gorgeous and interesting. Our guide had so much knowledge. We had a great time. You do need experience of cycling through traffic but a lot of the tour was on the excellent cycle routes.

Most fun day I had in Brooklyn
Frank took us on a terrific bike tour of Brooklyn. Pace was leisurely enough yet also got the blood flowing in spots, but it was never tiring (I'm over 50). Highly recommended!

      5 STARS FOR FRANK!
We had the best time with Frank! It was an extremely rainy but beautiful day in Brooklyn but he showed us exactly what we wanted to see with some side adventures. Highly recommend spending the afternoon with the sweetest native around!

      Two bridges bike tour
We had a wonderful bike tour across the two bridges. We have been to NYC 3 times prior and have never had a chance to venture out to Brooklyn. This tour caught my eye to see Brooklyn. We ended up biking over 9 miles seeing a lot of beautiful scenery along the way. Our guide Pio was very patient and we went at our own pace especially since I was very slow going uphill on those inclines across the bridges. Thank you Pio for an awesome tour. The photo you took of us at the famous Brooklyn spot is definitely going to make it on this year’s Christmas card!

      Epic Brooklyn Bikeride
I had a great bike ride thought all the groovy neighborhoods in Brooklyn. It was a lot of fun getting to know one of the NYC suburbs. There is a lot gong on in Brooklyn these days. The public transportation between all of these neat neighborhoods is not great. It was nice seeing how easy it is to bike around and get to where you need to go. I highly recommend this tour.

The Perfect Way To See Brooklyn
We love doing a bike tour when exploring a new city and this did not disappoint. Our guide was super friendly, fun, and knowledgeable, taking the time to answer any questions the group had. The pace of the ride was great and pretty cruisey for the majority of the ride. Lots of little stops and we had the best key lime pie on the waterfront too. Highly recommend this tour if you’re short on time and want to see as much of Brooklyn as possible.

I did the half day in Brooklyn Bike tour with my brother, who was visiting from out of town. We were originally set to do the Brooklyn bridge tour but we were upgraded to the half day in Brooklyn tour. We had a blast! John was a great tour guide - he was very knowledgeable about Brooklyn and we learned a lot about its history. We also got some of the best frozen drinks in BK and a great slice from Frankie’s. I will definitely be recommending Brooklyn Giro Tours to friends and family who are visiting or are just looking for a great time in the city!

John is fun and extremely knowledgeable. He instantly responded to our interests so we are felt like we were getting a tour tailored to us! Our group consisted on four competent cyclists who were all new to Brooklyn. We covered a lot of ground which gave us an excellent overview of the unique character of the different neighborhoods and some amazing views across the east river. John covered history from pre civil war up to the present and made some good guesses what the future was going to look like. He loves Brooklyn and his enthusiasm is contagious. This trip in not only for Brooklyn newbies though—he really notices details and has researched the history so someone who has lived in Brooklyn their whole life would love this tour too!

Had a great fall day seeing Brooklyn, and highly recommend to others! Our group was all New Yorkers and experienced cyclists. John gave us a great tour, with history and places we would not have found, all at a perfectly adapted pace. The bikes were in great condition, and I didn't mind having not brought my own. We look forward to being back. (I did wish he used a mask for the indoors parts, but for outdoors we are fine, and he knows how to project his voice.) Full disclosure: I bought the tour at a charity event last year, with of course no idea of the coming pandemic. Thank you to John, for supporting the charity, and honoring the certificate despite this past year!

We chose the Brooklyn tour with the Bushwick Art Collective as a destination, including a stop at Roberta's for pizza and beer, which was just right. A bicycle is the ideal way to see the borough, because the pacing is rapid enough to take in more than you can see on foot, but the scale is still intimate. Also, on bike it is easy to stop at places of interest and a bike lets you experience the joy of air rushing past as you take in often magnificent views. Brian was a congenial and knowledgeable guide.

Ok. Where do I begin! Best experience ever! I'm from Portland, Oregon. I'm staying in the financial district in Manhattan with a friend of mine I went to high school with. I called gyro bikes the day before to find out what route I should take to get there. Of course he gave me the correct route to go through the ferry but my friend said to take the subway. Don't take the subway from financial district lol. I was so far away had no idea where to get off and when I did get off the two guys in the subway station that work there were awesome and told me not to walk it. They had me call the guy that owns the bike company and we figured out I needed to go back and get off on a different exit. Needless to say the owner of Brooklyn Giro Bikes pick me up and brought me to get my bike and gave me the tour personally!! I was late for the group tour! It was an amazing tour he is full of knowledge and he has a great sense of humor! He went above and beyond and I did not even expect that I thought I would have to probably lose my money and cancel the whole bike tour! I had the best time. He took me to a great pizza place for a quick lunch. He grew up in the area so his knowledge of the area was off the charts. To make things even better he even walked with me when the tour was finished to help me get to the ferry to get back to the financial district which by the way is the way to travel! Took me maybe 10 minutes to get back to where my hotel was as opposed to the subway where I had no idea where I was and spent way too much time on when I should have been on the ferry!! Here is a tip don't listen to your friends listen to the locals lol.
So is he took me to the ferry I bought him a beer because we had a little time before it showed up. He literally walked me to it to make sure I found it and I cannot tell you how helpful and awesome that was. Not knowing the city like I should he really saved me and again went above and beyond! Who does that in New York City?? Not anyone I know!! I gave him a tip but wish I had more cash on me so I think I will be sending him something in the mail.
I highly highly recommend this company to do a bike tour of the city. I'm coming back next summer with my son's and my granddaughter and we will be calling him again!! Hopefully he won't hang up on me when he finds out it's me LOL!! Make sure you use the ferry if you are staying in the financial district to get to Giro Bikes! It's quick it's easy and it takes you just blocks from where they are located. And if you are lucky enough to get him as your tour guide you will absolutely love it! I am going to track him down next summer to make sure he is our tour guide!!
Thank you gyro bikes and John.... Could not have asked for a better experience and you took all the stress out of it as I was traveling to you. Thank you!

Visiting NY (where I used to live) and decided to spend time in Brooklyn doing a bike tour. Fantastic process from start to finish with John (owner) and given it was just me crazy enough to ride on a chilly Thursday in January we had a great tour around. Brooklyn is an amazing place and John was extremely knowledgeable on all the various neighbourhoods we rode through. I found the riding to be very safe and whilst some parts had traffic none of it felt at all dangerous. Highly recommend and I look forward to exploring more of Brooklyn on other tours Brooklyn Giro run.
One of the keys for me is that these guys are both tour guides and bike riders as opposed to one or the other which makes everything go very smoothly

This was one of the highlights of our trip. The tour guide was extremely knowledgeable about Brooklyn's history, architecture, current events, and future plans. I just can't think of another way we could have gotten to know Brooklyn better than by biking through it with our tour guide.

Pros: Tour guide was great. Bikes were in great condition. Tour started on time. Beautiful views and lots of knowledge gained about Brooklyn.

Cons: I think the only thing the tour guide could do better was listen to his clients desires a little better. We were a small group of 4. There were a few times where he would point out something, (best place to get key lime pie, for example), and despite multiple comments made that made it clear there was interest to stop and try it, we kept going. This wasn't for lack of time as the tour ended about an hour early.

Be aware, this is NOT a grueling bike ride at all. This is very slow paced. For us, I think it was the ideal pace, and it gave the tour guide multiple opportunities to stop and point out some really cool things. But if you're an avid bike rider and are looking for something a little challenging, this may not be the tour for you.

We were greeted on our tour by John, the owner of the company. His Brooklyn charm made us feel comfortable right away! His passion and knowledge for Brooklyn was very obvious and he was able to customize our route based on our interest in history, buildings, and celebrities.
We were a bit nervous with the traffic but John always made sure that the group was together and adjusted his pace as needed.
We also bonded over our love for TGIF! After the tour was over, John was able to give us a great recommendation for pizza, coffee and gelato. I would highly recommend this tour if you'd like an intimate and customized tour 🙂

When we heard the tour was 4 hours long we were worried it might be too much but the time flew by. Frank was a wonderful guide with so much knowledge and a great communicator. He was also so accomdating when we asked for a coffee break 30mins into the tour. The bikes were so good I didn't feel tired despite cycling over 20 miles. Frank knew the roads to take us on which minimised both hills and traffic.

After a mix-up (through a third party, NOT Brooklyn Giro) my husband and I joined the Brooklyn tour and we are so glad we did! I only wish we’d had more time, I would have booked another bike tour for the next day. We saw so much more than the usual quick trip to Brooklyn over the bridge and learned a lot from our guide, John. I highly recommend this tour, the pace is easy so even if you are not much of a rider you will be fine. Looking forward to my next visit and a longer ride.
