Had an awesome time! Didn't get to see the Aurora, but the company there and the lodge itself was super cute and very warm. Stayed until the early morning hoping for the lights to show, alas, the clouds were too heavy in the air and the lights must have been just as sleepy as we were. It's not always garunteed to see the lights themselves, but the experience and thrill of even going was more than I hoped for.
Our guide was awesome! She was super informative, and spritefully full of cheer despite the lights not being present. We constantly monitored the skies and made every possible minute count as we waited, with warm conversation, a relaxed and homey snow covered log cabin, and plenty of drinks and snacks to feel right at home. I would 100% recommend this tour and hope that anyone who does gets to see this amazing spacial phenomenon.

Unfortunately for us, the weather forecast turned out to be correct about the clouds. The sky was completely covered and while we were expecting active activity, we were not able to see the lights at all from the lodge. BUT, we still had a very enjoyable trip with Tony! He is full of interesting life stories and we were very entertained for the entire duration of the tour. The lodge was very cozy and nice and we were provided with hot cocoa/tea and cookies to nibble on while waiting. Luck wasn’t on our side this time but I’d definitely recommend touring with Tony! I think on a clearer night, you’d be able to see a beautiful view of the lights.

Our guide Lexi picked us up right on time. We made the short trip to the Aurora viewing lodge providing us her brief back story and providing details of the lodge we were going to. In addition to our van, the owner of the lodge generally has a few invited guests. The lodge is not very large but there was enough seating for everyone should all of the guests decide to be inside at the same time. There is an unobstructed view of the northern sky making it an ideal viewing spot for the northern lights. The sky was clear the evening we went to the lodge but unfortunately Mother Nature was a little stingy with the light show. But we did get to see some small displays of the northern lights. The lodge closes promptly at 2:00AM and you make your way back to your hotel. Our guide Lexi was fun and entertaining and we enjoyed our time. Anyone looking for a shorter, more relaxing light viewing tour should enjoy this one. Alaska Wildlife Guide is a very good company to book with.

We saw the Northern Lights!! They were not strong as it’s very early in the season (9/06/22) but we saw them with the naked eye and on our cameras. They were mostly green in color. The tour takes you to a rustic cabin about 30 minutes outside of the town of Fairbanks. The cabin had large picture windows and seating for about 25 people. You could warm up inside and then go back out on the large deck. The cabin owner, Moap??, provided coffee and hot chocolate and cookies. There was a restroom also which was great for the long viewing time. He was great with helping guests to setup their phone cameras. Elizabeth, the Manager of the touring company picked us up promptly from our hotel and drove us in their comfortable van to the viewing lodge. She was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. We were gone around 3 1/2 hours from hotel back to hotel. One of the highlights of our Alaska trip. FYI the cabin is rustic so if you are expecting a 5 star hotel to view the lights you won’t get that but it has everything you need for Aurora viewing. I highly recommend this tour. Excuse my photography my iPhone is old (iPhone 7) so my camera isn’t the greatest.

Claire was an exceptional guide for our first Aurora outing! She was extremely knowledgeable and as enthusiastic as we were about catching the elusive lights! She was prompt and picked us up at our hotel at exactly the time we were told. She took us to a fantastic spot, a lovely cabin with the most gracious host, where we could have a chance at viewing the Aurora Borealis away from the city lights. When we weren’t outside on the beautiful patio, we were treated to a variety of warm beverages and cookies in an inviting space inside with couches facing huge windows to wait for the lights to make their appearance. While we waited she answered any and all questions we had about the northern lights and would keep an eye out for them with her camera. Once she spotted them, she would tells us it was a good time to step out to admire them and take pictures. She was also very helpful when we asked how to capture them on camera and took some pictures for us! Highly recommend this excursion!

Other than being able to view God’s amazing handiwork through the Aurora Borealis, our guide, Tony, was our favorite part of this experience. His vast knowledge of all things Alaska, his genuine ability to connect and his great storytelling made this the perfect event. We can’t thank him enough for making this experience one we’ll never forget!!

This is amazing!!!!

My husband and I got picked up from our Hotel at 10pm instead of 10:15pm by friendly Nat in a brand new van. We were very excited to meet with 7 other tour members.

We went to Mok’s lodge which is about 30 minutes away from Fairbanks. The lodge is cozy. There were about 20 people in the lodge. After having coffee, tea and cookies, almost all of us fell asleep at around 12am on the comfortable couches.

At around 2am, Aurora came to say “Hi!”, she was very pretty, active, and danced in the sky.

We were so blessed to have Mok who helped to explain, set up our camera to catch “Aurora’s dance”.

We left at around 3:15am. Under Nat’s safe and careful driving, we again able to take a nap in the car.

Not to forget, they do have very helpful customer service. Strongly recommend!

We did this viewing a couple hours after we landed in Fairbanks and we’re so happy we did! Aurora Wildlife Guide was incredibly helpful and flexible with us as far as changing the pick up time to fit our needs (our flight landed at 940pm and the original pick up time of 1030pm would be too tight). Lynley was our driver/tour guide and when she picked us up at our hotel, right away she was welcoming, fun, and so helpful! She even assisted us with camera settings together with Mok, who was the owner of the very cute and homey lodge! Mok had cocoa, coffee, and cookies ready for us to enjoy in between watching out for Lady Aurora and getting nice and toasty. It wasn’t too active with the cloud coverage this Monday evening but we were happy to even see it for a little! Thank you Lynley and Mok for such a great start to our trip!!

They took us to the lodge, where was nice, clean and warm. The lodge was owned by a technical guy, he put a camera on the outside and you can see whether there’s any northern light inside. Once there is any you can go out and take pictures. I like this modern style a lot. He can also take pictures and you can pay some tips to get those, which was fair. The lodge isn’t too far from the city so there’re some light pollution, but not too bad. The van was very comfortable and the guide was nice. Finally, we’re very lucky on that day the northern light was extremely active. Considering the price I would def recommend this tour for anyone looking for aurora chasing in Fairbanks.

We want to do this again! My grandson and I signed up for two tours with Alaska Wildlife Guide and both were led by excellent drivers and guides. Lynley took our group up to Aurora Pointe where we enjoyed Kory's hospitality and informative presentation about the Aurora and the kinds of things they look for that might indicate a good chance of experiencing the lights. There were hot drinks and things to do while waiting. Once the lights came out Lynley worked with everyone to make sure our camera settings were working to capture the beauty and, more than once, she buzzed over to consult with Kory about my iPhone app. Meanwhile Kory was taking photos with his more professional camera and invited anyone who wanted their photo taken with the lights as background to come over. He didn't charge for the photos (other than mentioning voluntary gratuities would be used to buy a better camera) and made all of the pictures he took that night available to all of us who left our email addresses. Much appreciated because they were far better than mine! Lynley was full of interesting tidbits during the travel to and from the lodge. This was an exceptional experience.
