About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- JodyB4340 contributionsWell done food and historical tour.A well done food tour combining great southern bites along with good incites to the local history. Christina is a native of Savannah with tremendous experience as a tour guide. She is very popular among the locals and made this a very enjoyable experience.Written November 23, 2024
- CandiceCF10 contributionsFood good but disappointingVery little historical references/information. Food choices had no explanation on historical or cultural significance to Savannah e. g. a french baguette sandwich. Tour ran an hour over (4 hours total) which caused us to change plans.Written November 10, 2024
- jackiel8360 contributionsCome hungry! This was a fabulous tour! We sampled items from six different restaurants. Which was our favorite - there was no way to pick! The items were amazing local tastes that we would not have thought of trying if we ventured on our own, not to mention the places we stopped at. The food was expertly paired with our guide, Christina, who kept us on pace and informed. Be expected to eat a lot but so worth it!Written October 31, 2024
- 978denisey0 contributionsGreat ExperienceLoved this tour. Advice is to go on an empty stomach. Lots of food . Our tour guide Christina was absolutely entertaining, knowledgable, dedicated and fun to have as a guide! Would recommend this to anyoneWritten October 22, 2024
- Mindyz510 contributionsRecommend for something fun to doLoved the tour. Our guide, Christina, was very entertaining. We had a great small group and it was a beautiful day. All our food was very delicious and we learned about some historic landmarks. I would recommend for something fun to do. The walking was not strenuous and the food was a nice variety. I was definitely full when it was over.Written October 17, 2024
- mikez8860 contributionsThe "Fugitives from Florida" had a great experience! This is a great walking food tour. We actually do one everywhere we visit as tourists and this one is top tier... 6 local spots (plus 2 extras since we showed up early), great food at every location, and our guide Christina was great at bantering as well as keeping us "fugitives" aka refugees of Hurricane Milton well entertained and fed. Do this tour, you will not regret it and you won't leave hungry either!Written October 9, 2024
- tinaritterw0 contributionsGood guide, redundant food choices and dark barsChristina made everyone feel so cared for on the tour. For instance, before she even knew we were on the tour, I tripped on the uneven bricks and broke my sandal. She casually pointed and said there was a shoe store right there--as if this happens every day. Probably does! As we gathered, one lady was standing in an ant hill, and Christina took us straight to a CVS to get stuff for the bites. She was funny and informative. It *is* a pub crawl, but the first two restaurants were more dive-ish in feel and vibe. Not my scene, dark and old. Savannah Taphouse did have excellent fried chicken though! Unfortunately the 6th stop was also fried chicken, and we were just over it, already feeling stuffed. The box meal wasn't particularly classy. Next time, I'd spring for the extra $20 and take the other food tour that I don't think had pubs on it.Written October 5, 2024
- Sunshine6907260 contributionsSouthern FlavorThoroughly enjoyed Christina and her knowledge of Savannah! The food was amazing!! Learned a bunch about Savannah! We will be returning to some of these establishments!Written October 4, 2024
- heathermN219KI0 contributionsExcellent so much fun would do it againGo on an empty stomach lots of great food and drinks to sample you b e full for the day. I Can't remember our tour guide but I remember his glasses glowed in the dark for the night time ghost tours, which tells you right there how much he loved his job which made it fun for us.Written September 18, 2024
- E4845ELanthonya0 contributionsFun and Super Knowledgeable Tour Guide and Great Desserts. This was a lot of fun. Christina was a great tour guide with a lot of personality and very knowledgeable about the city. I really like that we got to skip the queue for a very popular ice-cream location. The one critique (and why this is a 4-star and not a 5-star experience for me) was that most of the desserts were cream-centric. I was really hoping for at least one cake-type dessert. If I were organizing it, I would do one cake-type, one pastry-type, one confection type, one ice-cream type, and one pudding-type.Written September 3, 2024
- redhll0 contributionsSo. Very. Yummy. Please n9te this review is for the TASTE TOUR which was not an option on the drop down menu We've done the dessert tout and loved it so we decided to do the food tour. Ro was our tour guide which happened to be the same guy from dessert tour. He was super funny and helpful during the tour. So many places visited on the stop highlights being the chicken box from paula deans and sweet tea chicken from another place. We wnjoyed that so much we went back for supper another night. The evening ended with cobbler at peach cobbler factory. Don't eat breakfast bc your belly will need room lol but don't worry you will walk if off. Tea and water included. - Odyssey505857824240 contributionsA lot of bang for the buck!Booked our Southern Flavors Food Tour in Savannah based on reviews and totally agree this was a great experience. Our knowledgeable guide took great care of us and we enjoyed every stop. It is a lot of food to consume during lunch so you probably won’t need dinner afterwards! A delightful way to spend the afternoon!Written July 12, 2024

The guide was knowledgeable and tried to work with the itinerary, but he was the best part of the tour. If you're a cheesecake fan, you'll probably be disappointed with the cheesecake. The coffee cake was OK, but served with cold cidar. I guess I was expecting coffee. Several people in the group didn't finish the cake. The shaved ice was also just OK. I had the piña colada flavor, which I liked, but my wife's wedding cake flavor was so subtle that I'm not positive that it actually had flavor. She took 2 bites then threw the rest away. The peach cobbler place was good, but there was no where to sit so we ate standing up. The cinnamon bites, as others have noted, were disappointing. Think Auntie Anne's, with far less flavor. But they did come with a cup of water, so there's that. And they were warm. That's about all I can say about them. The place we had them was just like any other bar, complete with vulgar scribblings on the wall for all to see. We ended at a Greek restaurant for baklava. I didn't try it, but of the 8 other group members, 7 threw away their baklava after 1 bite. Also, someone behind the counter at the restaurant, either a manager or owner, was rude and loudly scolded the guide for not calling ahead. But the guide had called ahead and one of the other workers had already packages the baklava so it was ready when we arrived. The owner/ manager apologized, but it made the final stop awkward and I didn't feel welcome there. So, the description for the tour isn't quite faithful. No pralines. No cupcakes. No cookies. No macaroons. And the ice cream was about 1 teaspoon (two small bites) on top a small piece of peach cobbler. Of the places we went, I would only consider going back to 1. When it came to accompanying drinks, there was neither coffee nor tea. One place gave a small cup of cidar, two had water, 3 had nothing. If it weren't for the group of people and the guide, and I based my rating on the food alone, I'd give this 1 star.

First stop, Specialty cheesecake at Tondee's Tavern. We each tried a different flavor: carrot cake for Lynn, German chocolate for Tom, pecan pie for me. A yummy start! Second stop, Tandem Coffee and Spirits at the East Bay Inn for a vanilla coffee shot and homemade coffee cake (made by the owner of the cafe). Our spectacular guide Rudy entertained us throughout the tour with stories, historical facts, and theories about unsolved mysteries. A refreshing third stop at Hokulia Shave Ice. Horchata for me, cherry cola for Lynn, li hing mui for Tom. Fourth stop, PS Tavern treated us to sweet, soft pretzel bites. We also had pickle shots too. Dessert #5, a favorite of ours, baklava from the Olympia Cafe! Our final stop was at Dub’s Pub for house made pimento cheese topped with Dub’s bacon served with pita chips and mini dill pickles. Not exactly dessert, but I wasn’t complaining! Thanks Rudy!

Circket was an absolute gem!!! She delighted us with stories, insights, and old Savannah gossip, and was overall just very open and lovely. Made us excited to check out some more tours next time we're in Georgia.
The desserts are FULL PORTIONS, not samples! Our stomachs sadly couldn't keep up by the end, despite saving our appetites and being cautioned at the start of the tour. You WILL have leftovers! The variety was nice: Cheesecake, coffee cake and choc liqueur, banana pudding (admittedly not a winner for us), brownies, baklava, and more...some of the locations offered more than one option or flavor. There was one pie option at one of the locations, though given all the great pies of the South it would have been nice to explore more. Also, it does double as a walking tour, which makes for a good overall pace and balance, as you get to learn about the establishments and the city in the process. I do believe it's fair value for what you get, as it averages to around $6.66 per dessert plus the benefits of an informative tour.

Guide was knowledgeable of history and could tell a good story. Unfortunately this was about desserts and we were greatly disappointed. All but one location was disappointing. The stores and restaurants we visited never would have been places we would have stoped at. Savannah GA… peaches, peanuts, sweets…. We got Hawaiian shaved ice, dull cupcakes, and pretzel bites with cinnamon in a lack luster sports bar that looks like any city you might live in. Oddest part of the pretzel bites were the guide telling us they sometimes put caramel, chocolate syrup, or other toppings and then we got no topping. Why build expectation and watch us served less than the hype? This was a walking tour for trying to get you to come back and give these restaurants your dinner business. Sorry, the Baklava might be tasty but I didn’t come to savannah to eat in a 40 year old Greek dinner. My suggestion, take a historical tour and then wander the shopping district and find desserts that look good and have lines.

Completely unresponsive. I tried contacting them multiple times via phone and email to cancel my reservation. No one ever responded despite my multiple attempts. They don’t even have a voicemail set up so you can’t even leave a voicemail. The only time someone contacted me was when we “failed” to show up to the tour we canceled. Absolutely unprofessional.

At first, we were a little nervous about the price per person, but my husband and I are so glad we decided to start our vacation with this dessert tour. The dessert tour doubled as a general walking tour (our tour guide pointed out cool things around downtown as we walked to each dessert location). Our tour guide - Whiskey - was awesome! He really made the whole experience fantastic. The desserts were good and well worth the price for the tour. Whiskey went above and beyond to show us around Savannah and treat us with desserts. We loved it, 10/10

My family and I thought this was a fun way to spend the evening. There were cobblestones, a John Wesley statue, a mysterious echoing vortex, a tale of adultery and murder, and history lessons on everything from Oglethorpe to SCAD…interspersed with lots of dessert. What could be better? (I recommend skipping supper.)
Our tour guide, Rudy, was one of the owners of the company. He was very friendly and knowledgeable about the history of Savannah. He had each stop organized, so we never had to wait for tables or for the dessert.
He told us that the stops and desserts are changed periodically, but our family favorites were the cheesecake, the sweet pretzel bites, and the savory fried pita and pimento cheese at the last stop.
I’d recommend this tour to anyone, any age, except a diabetic or someone with mobility issues.

Fantastic tour with our amazing tour guide Rudy! Come prepared for a TON of sweets and a lot of walking, but it’s a great experience. We really enjoyed the variety of desserts and Rudy’s knowledge of the city’s quirks. Highly recommend!

“Ro” our tour guide did a fantastic job providing us many varieties of Savannah’s finest desserts. He was very interactive with our group and happy to answer our questions along the way. He offered many suggestions as to things to see and do in Savannah and was very comfortable, personable, and not scripted. Everyone in our party of four walked away full and happy. We highly recommend this tour.

Whiskey was our tour guide. Very knowledgeable about Savannah and very enthusiastic about his job! More sweets than we could eat,,,,We ate, we walked, ate some more. Our tour description stated coffee and/or tea included but we were only offered water. Meeting place was easy to find - weather was a little "iffy" (it rained on and off) but Whiskey was very good at directing us to places for cover and/or timing it perfectly so we pretty much avoided the rain. The gentleman at the popcorn place was so gracious...never losing patience with requests for samples. Excellent experience.

This sounds like the perfect tour. I have NO food restrictions, but I had recent foot surgery & can't walk very far. How can we experience a similar TASTING tour, driving in our own car? Thank You,
Mary Ann Duke

I’m not sure that would work. A lot if the tour was listening to Whiskey as we walked quickly from one destination to another! I’m sorry but Part of the tour was definitely the walking! 😟
Written August 25, 2022
How many dessert locations do we go to? It appears as though there is only one place. If that is the case why is the price $40. Do we taste a series of desserts at this one location
Written August 2, 2021
No you go on a walking tour of 6 locations and a history lesson as well on the way .. well worth the money .. Roe was our guide for this one as well S the food tour the same company does they are both are awesome and a great deal .. well worth the money

Are there vegan options during the tour? Thx!
Written August 1, 2021
Were their dessert options at each stop or was it pre-determined? I'm dairy free. I can have trace amounts but wouldn't be able to each cheesecake or ice cream so i'm wondering if this tour would be worth it for me?
Written July 11, 2021
The desserts are pre-determined. It was a fun tour, but the desserts were different than the ones listed on the web page. I would call ahead to get the agenda so you can be sure that you can enjoy enough of the treats to be worthwhile. The history about the area was a big part of the tour also, our tour guide Rudy was very entertaining.

Yes we went with two 13 year olds and a 15 year old and had an amazing time
Written July 31, 2020
I wish I could help with this question, but I'm not sure. Among the desserts tasted were amazing cheesecake, cookies, cupcakes - which might have some gluten free options, coffee cake, incredible ice cream - made with only cream and fruit, another ice cream made with nutella and visited a candy store. By the time we made the candy store, we were stuffed, but the smells were mouthwatering.
