Overview
Without a guided tour, you’re likely to miss the tales from Savannah’s rich history that make this city one of the top destinations in the South. A guide brings the Hostess City of the South to life by pointing out the buildings, monuments, and other historic attractions that mark Savannah’s development from Georgia’s first colony to the trending city that it is now.
Highlights
  • Walking tour of downtown Savannah brings history to life
  • Guide tells key stories from Savannah’s rich history
  • See top city attractions: Forsyth Park, River Street, and more
  • Plenty of photo stops let you admire views of parks, homes, and buildings
  • Multiple departure times let you fit this tour into your schedule
What to Expect
Meet your guide in downtown Savannah to begin your walking tour. Starting in Reynolds Square, stroll down cobbled alleyways and past pastel-colored buildings populating the historic core of the city. Pass top sights like Forsyth Park, River Street, and the original Girl Scout Headquarters building as your guide provides information about Savannah’s colorful history as the first Georgia colony, its role in the Civil War, and its recent revival. Plenty of stops for photos and questions help you make the most of your tour. Thanks to Savannah’s small size, this is just enough to see the historic district’s top attractions, leaving you free to explore the rest of the day on your own.

Our guide was great. He was friendly and knowledgeable. I think during these specific times, it may be good to broaden the perspective of providing a more accurate description and acknowledgement of slavery and minorities in general in Savannah. Also the jokes about women are

Thank you for the review . It is a mighty task to tell 283 years of history in two hours. That being said the guide did talk about slavery and civil rights introducing 4 African American Men who overcame long odds and made a difference in Savannah ( Andrew Bryan, John White , Clarence Thomas and Hosea Williams ) As far as the female joke it was in the perspective of 1830’s and meant to show how far we have come .I can tell about terrible events that happened here but they really do not explain the overall spirit of the city . Is it not wonderful that we can enjoy our city without riots and violence , do you think this is because we do not care ? Maybe , just maybe most of us have cared all along .Of course that is just the glass half full opinion of a 23 year resident of the city . I will strive to improve the presentation. Thanks again.

Thanks for the review. The problem is the heat , if he didn't have to make 3 trips into the air conditioning , probably would have seen more sights and heard more history. Please do not book afternoon tours if you are not from the south because you will melt. Please see previous review of the same tour.
