Excellent experience! Mr. Cunningham was a great tour guide with lots of knowledge & interesting facts about Baltimore's culture & history. He made sure my family enjoyed the experience... even though the weather wasn't the best. Thank you!!

We did the Christmas tour. Only a few stops but all interesting. Owner is a lifelong resident and knows the area and the history. He was very accomodating.

    I love Baltimore!
Fantastic experience, we took the private tour and it was great. Ira really made it a highlight of our visit. My husband is originally from Baltimore but we wanted to really get to know the city and Ira certainly came through. It was so informative and delivered with a clearly deep knowledge and love of the city. Ira really brings the tour to life. We would highly recommend this tour and we hope to take one or more of the other tours the next time we visit.

    True Perspective of Baltimore!
Highly recommend this tour to get a true perspective of the deep, rich heritage and culture of Baltimore. Our tour guide Ira did an outstanding job and made our tour enlightening and enjoyable! Didn't realize there were so many first to come out of Baltimore!

Customized Tour of Baltimore - Just Right for Anyone
We were lucky to have discovered Ira Cunningham, owner of "I Love Baltimore Tours." We knew that he had a variety of special topic tours of Baltimore, each one of which looks interesting. But we had just one day and wanted to negotiate a variety of places we were interested in. "No problem - give me your list." From there he added some other sites we agreed sounded interesting to us... and we settled on a 5 hour personal tour of Baltimore. We had our tour in early September 2022. Bus tours, group tours are useful at times. But there is nothing like having your own guide 100% to yourself. And Ira was an excellent. Specifically, Ira is... RESPONSIVE - he got back to us immediately several times as we contacted him to plan our day. FLEXIBLE - he worked with us too accommodate our site list. PERSONABLE - he shared stories of his life growing up in Baltimore. That's stuff you don't get from a book or a museum signpost. KNOWLEDGEABLE - had good information to share about the sites we saw. KIND - adapted to our slightly reduced mobility issues. Adapted to our leisurely pace yet was well organized to include many stops TRANSPARENT - no hidden "gotchas." My wife and I are in our mid-70s, and we definitely recommend Ira's services as a personal tour guide. Tell him your interests and he will help plan your day. Then you have a personal chauffeur. Instead of a spiel, you can converse with Ira. It's your day, not the "group's day."

    Personal tour of Baltimore.
Wow an Experience that exceeded my expectations. Visiting with my friend and the visitor center was not yet open so we talked to Ira about the tour. We chose the vs. your because of the heat and my friend was a reluctant guest. She continues to talk about the tour and how much she learned and how knowledgeable Ira is. It was 1.5 hours and it felt like 30 minutes. I highly recommend this tour. We were fortunate enough to have only is two. God Bless You Ira.

    Great Tourist Experience!
We rented the entire van for our small group's private historical tour; it was well worth it! Ira was very accommodating - picking us up at our hotel which was near the Fells Point stop. He provided an insightful and interesting tour of the City. He was a gracious and entertaining host! We'll definitely call him again for the Mural Tour on our next visit!

    Excellent Local Perspective
While stranded at the Baltimore airport for an entire day because of a missed flight connection, we were fortunate enough to find “I LOVE Baltimore Personal Tours”. The owner, Ira Cunningham, did a great job of showing us the historical and architectural highlights of the city of Baltimore. The highlight of our trip was a visit to Fort McHenry where Francis Scott Key composed the “Star-Spangled Banner” as a poem during the war of 1812. We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 hour tour with Ira and would recommend it to anyone visiting the city of Baltimore!

    Stay away
Poor experience, not really hop on hop off. They just flew thru the streets reading facts off. No-one gave us option to “hop off”

Excellent tour to see a lot of Historic Baltimore
My husband and I had extra time in Baltimore after returning from a cruise and before we needed to get to the airport for our flight home. I found Ira Cunningham's I Love Baltimore Personal Tours on Trip Advisor. After an initial email to check date and availability and then a phone conversation to confirm we could be picked up at the cruise port and dropped off at the airport, I was excited to book this tour. Ira arrived right on time to pick us up with a 9 person passenger van that was clean and he had a cooler with bottled water for us. We spent the next 2 1/2 - 3 hours touring the historic city. We first went to Fort McHenry where we saw a movie and then toured some of the property with Ira providing additional information in several areas. My husband has limited walking stamina and Ira was very patient and adapted the walking part of our tour accordingly. Next, Ira drove us around many historic neighborhoods in Baltimore. He provided his insight into the history of the neighborhood developments, it's residents, and the various architectures. We saw the inner harbor, many museums, many distinct neighborhoods, churches, parks, businesses, statues and the two major stadiums. We did not stop to get out at any locations but I was able to take some photos as we passed the landmarks. It was a great tour to see the city of Baltimore.

    Great Experience, Lots to See!
Ira was so friendly and helpful with the sign up and our tour guide Michael was really great. We saw so much of the City in addition to the monuments...he gave restaurant recommendations and pointed out many other landmarks, buildings and sights along the way. The parks were hidden treasures we'll look to return to and we enjoyed learning so much history throughout this tour. It's about 4 miles of walking so be prepared for that; they provide a mini water at the onset. Up to 8 people in your party can book for one price which is really nice if you're traveling with a larger group. We'll be in Baltimore hopefully a lot more as our son continues his student athlete experience at Loyola and will definitely look to do another tour with this fabulous company.

It’s all in the Name! Best tour ever!!!
This a MUST and John was knowledgeable, friendly and a fantastic guide! If you’re visiting Baltimore/Inner Harbor book this monument walking tour. It’s a wonderful way to see the historical monuments as there is so much history in this city. I learned more than I thought I would. I felt incredibly safe and a great way to enjoy the outdoors during the pandemic. I will definitely use #ilovebaltimorepersonaltours again!

For the money this tour was ok. The tour guide offered a lot of information but she was reading off of notes. It was a very canned tour. She had an accent and at times was somewhat difficult to understand. She didn’t always use proper grammar and as a teacher that really bothers me. If you’re looking for an encapsulated tour of the city, without much depth, at a cheap price, this is it.

We arrived at 10:25 and waited . We walked around the building because we weren’t sure where the van would be . There was a gentleman sitting on the bench when we first got there and when we returned to the front of the building , he asked if we were there for the tour and we said yes . He told us that the guy already left and we just missed him. I called the number and the tour guide called me back and said he could put us on a list for Wednesday but I told him we couldn’t and that we were leaving . He said maybe we could do it in the future and quickly hung up.

Ira was wonderful as our tour guide! We missed our trip the day before and he accommodated us with a tour the next morning. As it turned out it was a private tour! So cool. He took us past so many notable sights in Baltimore and told us much about the city’s history and all of their firsts. I highly recommend this tour whenever you’re in Baltimore!

Excellent tour of Baltimore with my friend visiting from Houston and another person from New York. Ira was a great guide who owns the 20-year old business and offers many different tours. I rode up front as a passenger since I get carsick so I really got a good view of the city. We visited 20 neighborhoods of Baltimore and even took Ira’s suggestion to go to the top of the tall green hill near the skate park to lookout over the city. What a good view! Ira is a gentleman as he escorted all of us from the van. After offering us cold bottled water at the beginning of the 90 minute tour, he gave us an edible gift at the end. Best tour ever! I hope to return at some point for the Harriet Tubman Tour.

The good...the gentlemen waited on us and another couple who were late arriving because of public transportation delays (a home football game had increased traffic). This also led to a shortening of our tour because there was an area we could not go. Also good was their willingness to accommodate our bags in the back of the van...we had carry-on luggage with us.

The most disappointing part was the 15 minute stop at Ft McHenry. I had thought we would get to tour it and we did not. Gift shop and the tail end of a video...

While there was a plethora of information provided on the areas through which we were driving, I had a hard time hearing it fully in the van and the mode of transportation was not conducive to taking pictures.

Overall, my companion and I did not enjoy this event as much as we would have hoped. A hop on hop off experience is more to our liking, but we did not find one available.

Ira is a wonderful host to the city he obviously loves! Lifelong resident and family man who shares his insight and assign about ‘Charm City’ . A great way to get a taste of Baltimore in a safe and comfortable van. I recommend this tour especially at the beginning of your visit so you can go explore places that you learn about on the tour on your own! Thank you Ira!

Ira was fantastic. This historical tour gave us a good overview of the city and its many neighborhoods. It really helped us make plans for the rest of our stay. Days later we went back to Fort McHenry to explore further and we unexpectedly ran into Ira and his team. He graciously offered to let us catch a ride back to the Visitor Center. Then, we scheduled him for our airport shuttle ride. Friendly, professional, and customer oriented - thanks Ira for the hospitality - you really do love Baltimore!

We totally enjoyed this up close and informative tour of the many neighborhoods of Baltimore. Because of this insightful overview, I’m ready to move here. The van was comfortable, the tour guide was very respectfully and accommodating and the city was alive. Thank you so much. We would highly recommend this tour! You even get to see a very moving and memorable presentation on our country’s flag and national anthem.
