About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- HolyLandHuckster0 contributionsGreat Food, Poor GuideThe food was great. The guide, however, presented a stream of basically unrelated facts about "unknown" local residents (not Washington, Jefferson, etc OR how these great historical figures interacted with the history of Annapolis). The guide set no historical or geographical contexts within which individual facts could become meaningful. There was no discussion of how the food we were served was relevant to Maryland or the Annapolis area.Written September 1, 2024
- YouReign0 contributionsDo It like a localCarolyn, our tour guide, was a delight! (This was our first walking food tour) We sampled food from 4 different restaurants with accommodations for dietary restrictions. She is very knowledgeable and we had lots of fun. Who knew I could learn the history of Annapolis in such an informative way with loads of laughs! You gotta do this.... Thanks Carolyn 😃Written June 9, 2024
- LacrosseMD0 contributionsGood Food. 3.5 hour duration longer than other tours we've takenGood tour. Guide sure knows her history. Could have been shorter at 3.5 hours. Really long gap between restaurant #1 and #2. Other historic food tours we've done in other cities were about 3 hours, which we found was more than enough.Written June 4, 2024
- dorothyl520 contributionsAn Enjoyable Sunday AfternoonIf you like good food, history, and unique architecture, this tour is for you. We walked about two miles through the picturesque side streets of Annapolis, stopping at three very nice restaurants and then ending at a busy ice cream shop. The food was delicious, although it wasn’t really reflective of the Chesapeake location. Carolyn—who is knowledgable, articulate, personable and enthusiastic—is the guide who usually conducts this historic food tour. The fact that she loves her job elevated the experience for us.Written June 3, 2024
- jamesbH7310WW0 contributionsGo experienceGreat way to connect with a new to you town/city. Carolyn is experienced and entertaining. The first two selections of restaurants served top draw entries . Last one, Red Red Wine pizza was so-so. Overall, ample servings, very good food, entertaining for those interested in US history, and highly recommended.Written March 24, 2024

- 457kellit0 contributionsFun in Little ItalyThis tour was a slow paced tour packed full of history and fun facts. The food was great and our guide was so knowledgeable. I would have preferred more iconic Italian restaurants, but these were good.Written January 29, 2024
- TotinoBoi0 contributionsGreat Experience - Even for a "local"I was given this as a gift from my wife and even though I'm a lifelong resident of Baltimore, I had a ton of fun touring Little Italy with Mary Margaret and my good friend PJ. We went to some places I'd been and many I never was (all great and very welcoming). I would highly recommend and will definitely do this again (and give as a gift to others). It was such a fun experience!Written January 22, 2024
- S3234XVdianep0 contributionsFrigid weather, warm and inviting tourThe Little Italy and Jonestown tour was the best and Mary Margaret was a superb tour guide in spite of the freezing weather! Her knowledge of the area is endless. We've done a lot of food tours and this was by far the best. When we make our next trip to Baltimore we'll do the Fells Point tour and request Mary Margaret as our guide.Written January 21, 2024
- Barbara H0 contributionsBeautiful pairing- food and history!A great blend of local history and really delicious food. Great energy, and really connected to the area, sharing many interesting facts. We were able to have a taste of a nice variety of good foods. - HappyFamilyMaryland0 contributionsGo!So… I have lived in Maryland for 37 years. I'm now 50 years old. I have never been to our state's capital, Annapolis. My husband is now incapable of traveling. It's been that way for six years. We used to travel the world. I finally decided to start practicing solo travel. I do travel with my friends which is good, but... I need to practice solo travel. So I drove two hours to Annapolis. Had a great overnight! This tour was fantastic! It felt like I was not alone but able to still just be me. I learned so much about Annapolis! Who knew!? It's adorable! I also LOVE a water town. Don't be like me. Go to Annapolis! Food was great. History was. great. People were great :)Written September 3, 2023

Mary Margaret, our tour guide, was very engaging and friendly, and knowledgeable about all aspects of our tour and provided a great deal of insight into Baltimore history , especially Fell's Point. We stopped at four restaurants total, and the amount of food that we received over that time was more than ample to cover dinner needs. The food was excellent. If you want drinks, you can purchase those separately, and there is plenty of time to sit and enjoy the food and drink and chat with the guide and the other members in the party at each stop. Overall an excellent experience.

My group consisted of three couples and myself. Tim was the guide. He is a local and knew a lot about the area. The history of the area Tim spoke about was mostly his time, not much prior to that. I was looking for a bit more history, but the four food stops were good. The portion sizes were large too, much bigger than the typical food tours. Be hungry would you go on this tour!!! The Jamaican food was a little spicy but not overly. The pub for desert was the last stop. The desert wasn't big and the liquor drink was watered down. Other than that, good food.

My boyfriend and I come to Baltimore (from NOVA) each year to watch the Yankees vs. O’s. After being highly recommended, we checked out our first ever food tour this last weekend, and it did not disappoint! Mary Margaret was extremely knowledgeable and able to answer all the question thrown her way by our group, this was a unique way to learn more about the city. We had a total of 4 stops, and each stop was extremely generous with portions and everything was incredible!
We loved this so much, we intend to do the Little Italy tour with Mary Margaret on our next trip!
If you’re looking for a great experience, this is it. (:

Our group was an adult family of 5, with 3 of us visiting new implants to Baltimore. This gave those of us traveling from Colorado to Maryland an experience we will always remember, and the two new Colorado implants to Baltimore a deeper dive into the area.
Mary Margaret was informative, engaging, and enthusiastic. We loved how she explained the selection of the locations we visited and their importance to the community, whether they be newish or oldish. We also loved the history of the neighborhood along with current affairs that are being experienced. If you are looking for a small town, family-friendly, welcoming environment… This is the trip for you?

Mary Margaret was our superb tour guide. Honestly, it felt like meeting up with an easy going friend that had fun interesting facts to share with us about Fells Point. Everywhere we walked, someone was waving to Mary Margaret. It was obvious that she truly loves the town and the residents. Our group consisted of a couple in their 50s and a couple in their twenties and we all agreed that the tour was a blast! Prior to the tour, we advised the office that we had one vegan, one vegetarian, one sort of vegetarian and a meat eater and they were able to accommodate all of us. The food was plentiful and it was fun to try different things

Very much enjoyed our guide's tour of the area. She was fun and there wasn't too much walking. We loved the food choices as well. But we stayed way too long at each place, hanging out for 15-20 minutes after we were all done eating. They really need to tighten this 3 and 1/2 hour tour to maybe 2 hours and it would be perfect.

Our experience with the Fell’s Point foodie tour was excellent. Our first time doing a foodie tour and our guide, Zack was very knowledgeable about the history of the area and pointed out things that we never would have noticed on our own. The four places that we went to sample the food was excellent and all in the group indicated that any of the places would be worthy of a return visit.

We had a great time on Mary Margaret’s food tour. She, according to one bartender we spoke to, is a ‘legend’ in Fells Point! She really knew her stuff about the history and traditions of the area. We stopped at 4 places to eat - plenty for a meal, including dessert. We didn’t cover a lot of territory, but it was a nice walk in a quaint historic neighborhood. She was good at addressing the entire group of 12, speaking clearly, and managing time. The tour was from 3p (arrive at 2:45p) to 6:30p. At the end, she made sure we knew how to find our parking garage. We’ve done 16 food tours all over the nation and world, decided it was time to explore one of Baltimore’s neighborhood. Hope to do the Federal Hill tour soon!

I decided to book the Fells Point Food Tour for a Team Building activity. Jules was our tour guide and she had great energy, gave us a lot of cool info on the neighborhood and everyone stopped me at some point to tell me how much fun they were having. I am local and still got so much new info out of it. The restaurants did a wonderful job accommodating us and you are stuffed at the end.

I do not know exactly. I would say we walked maybe 1.5 miles over 3 hours. Slow pace, lots of stops and no hills. I did not find it strenuous at all.

It depends on the tour, but I think they tend to start around 2pm. When you reserve your spot on the tour, you'll receive an email with the time and meeting place.
