Bea was our tour guide. She did a great job intertwining history with paranormal activities at selected sites. If hot and it was, I would bring a small, insulated lunch bag with ice/ice pack, water, and maybe a damp wash cloth, which I wish I had done.

Steven did a great job. He was interactive and engaging. He was respectful of our time and went at a pace that we were comfortable with. He knew all the historical facts about the area and I actually learned several things I didn't know. He also shared the ghost stories woven into history and the area of Philadelphia which was entertaining. He hasn't been doing this very long so his presentation was perfect, but he knew his facts. We were so glad we did this the first night we arrived because the next day as we walked through the tourist/historical spots we recalled what we learned from him which enhanced our day. I definitely recommend this tour.

This was really such a great tour. My older son loves ghost stories and he liked the spooky tales of Philadelphia. I think though my husband and I enjoyed it even more than him. Jabar was really the main attraction with his way of story telling. It made the whole experience. We had such a great time.

We had Steve as our tour guide. This tour was around 90 minutes. This was a history tour with a ghost element. I would recommend this for families with older kids. It started at around 8. I would totally recommend this.

Took a tour with Jabar (sorry if spelled incorrectly). He clearly knows Philadelphia’s history and is enthusiastic about his job. You don’t get into any sites (mostly standing outside buildings), but it is a good way to learn a bit about Philadelphia history and get in a good walk. Overall, well worth it

My husband, granddaughters, and I recently did this ghost tour. I have done several ghost tours in the past in various cities (Savannah, Charleston, Boston, Montreal, Rothenburg, etc.). This tour guide seemed to be a frustrated actress; she considered the tour to be her stage. She would leap onto benches, go into monologues in dramatic fashion, and even used her long dark hair as a noose (2 times). The speeches were often filled with pregnant pauses and affected facial expressions for dramatic effect. I prefer a guide who gives factual information rather than trying to greatly embellish the story. Also, the group was large--20?--and she was oblivious about keeping us together while she walked at a very brisk pace. Some could not keep up and fell far behind while she marched on. There were long walks in between the stories. My husband gave up after 1 hour and only 2 stories. My granddaughters and I continued for another hour (tour was supposed to be 90 minutes) and only 2 more stories. We gave up after when we knew how to get back to our hotel. She was going on to at least 1 more stop; don't know how far away that was going to be. Some may love the dramatic presentations, but not me.

We were originally planning on being in Philly just for the day but decided to stay over so we could go on the Ghost Tour. I booked my tickets online a couple weeks before and called at 6:00 the evening of the tour to confirm location and time. We arrived at 5th and Chestnut between 7:15 and 7:20 and waited. Just after 7:30 I called as we had not seen the tour guide or any other people waiting for the tour and worried we were in the wrong location. I was told just stay where you are the tour guide is running a bit late but will be there shortly, if you are across from the Monaco Hotel you are in the right location. We waited until 8:15 but no one ever showed up. I called again only to get a answering machine. When the tour company called me back they said sorry for the confusion but I must have been in the wrong location as the tour left at 7:35 with 20 people. After I explained that I had spoken to someone at 6:00 and 7:30 to confirm the location she agreed to refund my tickets but still insisted that it was my mistake. If I was told to stay there I must have been close to where the tour started. It's hard for me to believe we missed a tour guide in period costume and a group of 20 people when we were on the lookout for a group of people and even asked a few other people if they were on the tour and one guy if he was the tour guide. I don't understand why the tour guide or tour company didn't call me back before the tour started if I wasn't there and had prepaid for my tickets you should assume I was coming. If we were in the wrong location we must have been close to the meeting place and could have easily caught the group if someone would have contacted us. Reading reviews after I am not the first person to sit there and wait for the tour that never happened, and the lady from the tour company did say that it happens often that people miss the tour as they are in the wrong place. I suggested to her that maybe they need to pick a new location to meet or give better direction?? My 2 daughters and I were there for about 1 hour plus I paid for a cab from our hotel and back making this a total waste of time and money!! We were very disappointed!

I've never been on a tour where 1/2 the tourists disappear during it. Literally, this tour was so bad that every time you rounded a corner you lost a tourist or two who elected to not go any further with it! Maybe it was the tour guide. I can't remember her name, but we did the July 3rd, 9:30 pm tour. She was somewhat knowledgeable, took us to buildings were ghost were reported to be seen over the last century or so, but had no real 'spunk' about her. Seemed liked she didn't want to be there. Yet at the end of the tour, she requested the remaining tourists give her a tip. The silence was awkward and no one reached into their pockets..hint..hint. Maybe the tour is better with a different guide, but based on my experience I cannot recommend it.

We thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Ginger. She dressed the part and showed her absolute commitment to Philadelphia, the ghost tour concept, and dramatic storytelling. Anyone serious about learning about ghosts in Philadelphia should definitely have Ginger show them around. My 12 year old daughter insisted we do this tour and we are so happy we did it. We learned a lot about the history of Philadelphia and got a closer look at its amazing architecture and historic neighborhoods.
