    Great experience, thanks Warren!
An amazing way to celebrate my dad's birthday... Warren was energetic and fun. The music was great and so were the facts about the city. Would definitely go again!

It would be nice if they showed up. Or let us know then weren’t going to.
They never showed up. Phone only went to voicemail and replies over trip advisor took a long time. Very disappointing, we were looking forward to the tour with our bottle of wine just to spend 30 minutes out in frigid temperatures waiting instead. They never sent any communication that the tour was delayed or cancelled. The only saving grace was that they didn’t argue when I asked for a refund.

    Amazing Experience!!!!!
We had so much fun in the Philly trolley. Our driver Mark, our guide Joseph and our musician Rob were all phenomenal. The energy on the bus was electric and the vibes were amazing. The whole trolley felt like a movie and the Christmas spirit was perfect. If you are ever looking for a Christmas gathering for either the friend group or the family this is the perfect event for any occasion. I also want to give a should our to sSmirf. There was a small inconvenience for our trolley and he went above and beyond to ensure that we were happy and we definitely were. he went out of his way to accommodate us, and he did not have to. I would highly recommend!

    Holiday Light Tour Trolley
This tour was soo much fun! Our emcee Warren was fun, hilarious, and the best!! Our driver was Janine and the musician was Sarah who had an amazing voice and got the whole trolley into the Christmas spirit with all the Christmas songs. The lights on Seymour and at the Miracle on 13th St were beautiful! Highly recommend this tour and the Team of Warren, Janine, and Sarah were the best!

Jolly Trolly Light Tour Suggestion for Safety (amazing tour!)
I did the Jolly Trolly light tour and had an amazing time!! Our tour guide Kevin was great and our driver Tim and musician Sarah made the tour special. I do recommend the company owner gets a walking rope or something for the guy (we had Joseph, he was awesome) to use when helping people cross the street to see the lights. The street we crossed was extremely dangerous and since people were drinking poor Joseph had his hands full stopping people from running across the dangerous intersection and keeping everyone safe. Having a rope (like kindergarteners get) or something to help him corral the group and keep everyone together and away from cars would be amazing.

Insulted and offended by your guide!
DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TAKE THIS TOUR! My husband and I travel a lot and try to take tours like this in most cities. We had to leave this after 20 minutes because the tour guide was soooo politically incorrect and frankly insulting. He started talking politics! This was supposed to be a freaking fun tour! These are exact quotes— “I love Trump” “ thank you state Pennsylvania!” This was a city where the constitution was signed! Whatever your views are this should never have come up and ruined the tour for us! Then when I called the company the owner started arguing with me about issuing a refund. He said he would check with others on the tour and get back to me on Monday— of course I never heard back. Poor customer service— they only cared about money not delivering a good product. I should have known when tour started over 20 minutes late it was a sign. Imagine if you were visit g from another country! Actually there was someone from Netherlands as well as other women on tour who frankly were likely offended— or at least half of them. As a supposed guide he should have been able to read the audience

    A must do
I knew this would be fun- but didn’t realize how much I would absolutely love it. Warren was absolutely the best tour guide I’ve ever on any tour. 20/10 would recommend.

    So fun!!
Warren Johns was amazing! I’m not a “tour” kind of person but we were doing this as part of a birthday celebration. We had so much fun!!! He was so fun- new all the facts of the city yet kept it from being boring! Intertwined music and movie facts all along the way and was the best DJ!

    A very enjoyable afternoon outing.
My friends and I were born and raised in Philly. While we currently live in the surrounding suburbs, we still love to visit the city and take advantage of all it has to offer. This tour met and exceeded our expectations. We laughed and enjoyed ourselves from the time we got on the trolley right up to when we got off. Warren, our tour guide, was amazing, as was our driver, Nate. I recommend this tour for locals as well as tourists to the city.

The sights of Philly told in a fun environment.
Great tour and even better tour guide! So much fun and a great way to see a ton of sights in a short time. The guide was knowledgeable about the history of the city while being a great entertainer and master of ceremonies for a diverse group of passengers!

    Hilarious!
It was hilariously entertaining! Warren did an excellent job of pointing out the sights while keeping us entertained and laughing!!!! Nate did a great job of driving the trolley with all of us crazies on board!!! Our group had varied ages of adults from young to seniors and I think everyone had a fun time! We would definitely recommend if you’re looking for an adult good time.

Ear-splitting music and too much focus on a small group of guests, but some fun was had.
We got stuck in traffic on the way, and the guide was SO responsive and helpful in letting us meet him at the next stop to come aboard. Sadly, the music on the bus was positively DEAFENING and my ears were smarting. (I really do enjoy loud music, but it was SO loud that the decibel meter on my watch kept alerting me!) Also, the guide was selecting all the music with one group of people in mind, and it would have been nice to have a more varied selection. (Some on the bus were visibly uncomfortable with the twerking, etc. being encouraged by the guide.) Also, not sure why a child was allowed on board; thinking this should be for guest 21 and older? Finally, PLEASE get some windows / ventilation in the back. Not a total waste, but I think it would have been more fun with more history, less time at Whole Foods, and music that wasn't at a level to cause ear pain! The best part was the Eagles fight song lustily sung by the group and a chance to explore the monument across from the Art Museum.

Warren and Nate provided an amazing experience!
Warren was one of the best guides I've ever had on any tour. He was funny, full of great facts, and an overall great guide. He was accompanied by his Driver, Nate, who was also amazing. Despite 95 degree weather, they worked tirelessly to provide an awesome experience for everyone. I'd take any tour with the two of them :)

The tour was actually the best part of my visit to Philadelphia! Jules provided the group of us with so much information (and information on non-historical aspects of the city too e.g. food) and made it so entertaining. I would recommend Founding Footsteps to anyone looking for 90 minutes of exercise and good information on historic Philly.

Thank you so much for your glowing review! We’re absolutely thrilled to hear that the tour was the highlight of your visit to Philadelphia. Knowing that it stood out among your experiences in this incredible city means the world to us. It’s wonderful to hear that Jules made such a strong impression. His ability to blend historical insights with local tips (like the best food spots!) adds a special touch to the tour. We’re glad you found it both entertaining and informative — that perfect mix of learning and laughter is exactly what we strive for. Your recommendation is truly appreciated, and we’re so happy you enjoyed the 90-minute stroll through Philly’s storied past. Whether it’s your first visit or your fifth, there’s always more to discover, and we’d love to have you join us again in the future. Thank you once more for your thoughtful words. Really great into to the “Old City” part of Philly, the original part of the city known for its 18th Century history. Our tour guide was Sheamus. He was extremely informative- gave us a lot of history as he took us to a variety of sites that I don’t think I would have hunted down on our own. He had some jokes too! It’s a good bit of walking, so being water and walking shoes. I’d recommend this to any first time visitor to Philly - start with this tour first thing in the
morning to get the lay of the land, and then go spend more time at specific places if you want after. Go see the liberty bell right before the tour - will be less crowded then and it only takes a few minutes. If you want to go to Independence Hall - be sure to buy tix to that ahead of time and then you can go to that right after this tour. But it often sells out - so buy ahead of time.

It’s fantastic that you found his insights and humor added to your enjoyment, and that he introduced you to some hidden gems you might not have discovered on your own. First off, our walking tour guide Jay was
THE Absolute Best! We’re locals to Philly and have never officially “toured” Philadelphia as a visitor would. We were in the mood to just take a walk through the city, when spontaneously we thought about taking a walking tour. I’m so glad we found availability and booked this. Jay made sure all guests were present before embarking on the guided walking tour. Jay not only knows his history, but was able to keep all guests, especially the kids on the tour, entertained and laughing with his witty/comical jokes. Our tour went a little over, but I don’t think anyone minded. I actually wish the tour was longer because I loved learning so much about the history that Jay was telling us about. We’re already talking about doing this again at some point.

We booked this tour hoping to learn about the history of Philadelphia, and Joseph did not disappoint. Joseph's friendly, easy-going style was great as he recounted the history of several significant sites, including the Betsy Ross House, Independence Hall, and the Liberty Bell. Joseph's historical knowledge was infused with a subtle sense of humor, all of which created an enjoyable and educational tour of this beautiful, historic city. It's definitely a tour worth doing!

What originally got me to book this tour was reading the responses the owner had to some of the negative reviews (I specifically enjoyed "the gall" response). I figured a person with this amount of care for his customers, coupled with the humor displayed, should be a good time.

And boy was I right!!

Though we did not have Tim to give the tour (his name was Shaymus? Seamus? Shaemas? .. anyway) it was an overall delight to go through historic parts of the City of Brotherly Love, and hear interesting tidbits of "unofficial" landmarks along the way! While we were not able to go into some of the buildings, we spent ample time around the area, and got an in depth review of its significance in American Revolution (or even before!). The walk was an easy one at a perfect pace, with no one (from what I saw at least) feeling tired or out of breath by the end.

If you have a few hours to kill and are willing to part with the ticket price, I say it's a quick and easy way to get a brief review of historic landmarks of Philadelphia.

I can’t remember our guide’s name……. but he was hilarious, very knowledgeable, entertaining, and very considerate. We took their tour during a heat spell and the guide was gracious enough to make sure every time we stopped and discussed a sight, it was in the shade. Aside from that, the tour is a great way to get a feel of the old historic district, learn about the significant sights and building orally…. which was much more interactive and meaningful as opposed to reading information in a book or passing by taking a bus tour (where they give a brief description of the passing location). FYI, the tour lasted an hour and a half.

It was challenging for all 13 of us on Tim’s tour, walking 3.2 miles in a 101 heat index (temp + humidity) through historic Philly. Tim conveyed lots of info in his machine-gun delivery, so fast much was lost by aged ears (mine). What we collectively paid $455 for (13 x $35) was two hours of Tim’s undivided time. Instead I felt Tim just didn’t relate, spending too much time on his phone either booking other tour customers or reviewing his spiels. Read the exclusions: we thought the higher price might include an admission or two; we didn’t go in at any stop. At tour’s end Tim had the gall to say he depended on gratuities, despite what we had already paid. A bottle of cold water would have gone a long way. The super rating of this tour is unwarranted when compared to similar tours. Choose your tour wisely.

Hi. There’s a lot of discrepancies with your review that I’d like to point out. First, gall is a strong word. What I actually say towards the end of every tour is “We are a hospitality industry. Gratuities are greatly appreciated and never expected. More important for us are reviews.” There was no issue at all with you and your wife being the only people on the tour not to tip. Second, while I appreciate you doing the math for the group, it’s not accurate. There were 14 people total (of which your party was 2). It doesn’t account for the heavy fee to the ticket reseller and assumes all the money goes to me. it also ignores the thousands of dollars a month in overhead and nearly a year of my business being closed due to the pandemic. As for the distance walked, it is nowhere near 3.2 miles. You and your wife walked to the starting location from your RV, adding about 1.5 miles to that total. Perhaps that extra distance contributed to you both feeling the extent of the heat. It certainly was a hot day. We sell a 90 minute tour and usually are closer to two hours. At any point during that time, you could have spoke up if you felt I was talking too fast. As for getting you a water, I would’ve gladly done so. You came prepared with your own as well as wet handkerchiefs for yourself so it seemed to me that you were already prepared. We did make a stop half way through the tour at a coffee shop specifically for people to take a water break. You chose not to use it. Lastly, you state that the tour was “challenging for all 13”. I don’t appreciate you speaking for the rest of the group. Again, you were two out of 14. To insinuate that everyone else agrees with you, when that was not at all the case...the gall. Thank you.

Our tour guide Seamus was outstanding ! Highly recommend this tour. In an hour and a half he covered so much. Because he is a native and had been a tour guide for so long and had worked at the Museum of the American Revolution he was very knowledgeable. Lots of great information. We had our elderly mother with us and the pace was very comfortable. All of the highlights were covered and it allowed us to determine what things we wanted to see next. We ended at the Liberty Bell.
