We ate the classic pastrami sandwhich, mongu, dumplings, vegan ice cream and donuts. It was great because it made me try food that I wouldn’t have on my own. However the restaurants were not that great. The first one, Katzs was great. After that is down hill. The restaurants were not memorable. One Chinese on was. We walked in and I saw the windows had not been washed in years. The place smelled and it wasn't the food. We've done many food tours and the food on this was the worts.Written September 5, 2024

Emmeline was a really fun and engaging guide. The food options were diverse and delicious. This tour was well run and very organized. I enjoyed meeting store & restaurant owners and learning some historical facts about the area. I highly recommend this tour if you are interested in local, authentic Greenwich Village eats and walking around the neighborhoods.

We had an absolute blast on the Greenwich Village tour, thanks in part to the awesome food stops (Pizza at Bleecker St Pizza and ravioli at Rafetto's were amazing!) but mostly due to our tour guide Brian, who was fantastic. In addition to his wealth of knowledge of both the restaurants and the overarching history of the area itself, he was just an absolute pleasure to spend the morning with - friendly, kind and courteous with an incredibly upbeat positive attitude. He made sure everyone was comfortable and enjoying themselves throughout the tour, and his love for the city and its food offerings shone through. By the end, he had us already wanting to come back to many of the stops, and we headed home with a goodie bag of chocolate covered espresso beans from Porto Rico importing Co (delish!) and a newfound love for a part of NYC we were not all that familiar with. We will definitely be back for another Devour tour soon!

This was our second food tour with Devour and, once again, was a fantastic experience. Brian, our guide, was friendly, engaging and entertaining and so generous with his knowledge and time - offering each of us on the tour additional recommendations according to our interests and location.
Every stop on the tour had a delicious treat in store, and it really felt like we were seeing the neighbourhood as locals do and not wandering around like aimless tourists! Brian told us the story behind every location (and we met some of the owners too), which brought to life what these small artisan producers are doing. This made the tour all the more memorable.
Along the way, we learned some of the history of the area, saw some celebrity hang outs and got to enjoy the neighbourhood on a deeper level than just following a guide book. Plus, it was well paced, plenty of opportunity to sit and chat and enjoy the delicious food!
Based on this, and our previous experience with Devour in Lisbon, we would book a Devour tour in any city we visit where they are available.

Brian is an amazing guide. He is thoughtful and accommodating to everyone’s individual needs. He is very present and remembers everyone by name. If you are open to exploring and looking to experience the local scene then this tour is for you.

Our tour through Greenwich Village was fantastic! Our guide, Emmeline, was very knowledgeable and shared so much interesting history throughout while we tasted all the great food & drinks. We would definitely take a tour with her as the guide again. All the spots were so good, and definitely places we would eat again. Loved the vibe of this neighborhood and glad we explored it during our first trip to the city.

the food was really good and a lot of the places had smaller servings so that you didn’t get too full before the end of the tour! my favorite was the cannoli we had and we also got some history behind each of the places that we ate at. the last two stops were very filling, pizza and grilled cheese, so i couldn’t eat all of those but they were still good!

Our tour guide Steve did a great job at telling us about the history of NYC. We learned so much within a short span of time. The food was also very enjoyable, especially Bleeker St. Pizza.

Had a great time, Ric was so interesting and informative. We loved getting to explore the historical streets and learn about the businesses as well as taste some delicious food that we never would have found ourselves. I would recommend it to anyone, and will check them out when I visit other cities.

This was our first tour with Devour and it was fantastic! The food was local, varied and delicious. Our guide, Emmeline, was knowledgeable, interesting and fun. We learnt a lot about the neighbourhood, both past and present. A really great tour, we would highly recommend it.
