    great experience
we arrived at Rise NY just after opening time - its next door to the broadway museum wich we planned to do next, so perfect location. The staff were so freindly and approachable and excited they had visitors and it was quiet in there - a few before and after us. I abs loved loved this - i had no idea the amount of exhibitions they would have in there - Bob Dylan Guitar and Madonna dress you up jacket was a great surprise for me as i am big fan of both. All the exhibitions are great and inforamative and give you great photo opportunities. The ride at the end though was the icing on the cake - OH MY - it was amazing, just like we were flying over New York and all its sites - i really wanted to do it again as soon as we got off it. My husband had a really good time too and loved the Hip Hop section please go and give it a visit you wont regret it - and the broadway musueum next door is really worth a visit too

    Live the rise of NYC
At first there is a video with the history of NYC and the area. Then there are exhibition and finally the simulation of flying over the skyline.

Once you enter an obscure entrance on West 45th Street, the adventure begins. Starting with a photographic and archival video history of NYC, you're ready to immerse more. The various rooms give an experience of NYC not only historically but culturally as well(including the kitchen from the Honeymooners. The flooring is comfortable unlike many museums - my feet didn't complain. The finale is truly spectacular!! Tighten your seat belt, hold on to the railing, and experience all of New York.

    Dissapointed
A complete waste of money. The only fun ride was the last ride and then it was all over. It was 5 of us so I paid over $250. Very disappointing.

Absolutely brilliant. 2nd time to NYC. 1st time we exhausted the sights, we did the same this time round with a few extra the Rise being one of them. Would highly recommend RiseNY - next time in NYC will pay to do it again it was that good and up there with the best things to do in NYC. I would recommend you make this your 1st stop!!!

Would have loved to have experienced this attraction however payment is by card only. Cash not accepted on the door.
Couldn’t pay by cash on the door. We were hoping to use up the last of our dollars and didn’t want to pay on a card. Very disappointing.

    Wish I would’ve known one tip…
My friend was visiting the 9/11 Memorial and I couldn’t bring myself to visit. Decided to start the morning here. Starts out with a great movie and then you move through the exhibits until you end with the main attraction. They did not tell us that we could take our time to view the exhibits so I rushed through thinking that I had to be at the movie at a certain time. The exhibits were wonderful and wish I would’ve spent more time there. At the end the staff said they must’ve forgotten to tell us we could hav taken time with the exhibits. Definitely a fun thing for anyone to do for an overview of NYC. An amazing movie both in the beginning and the end. Even more of a bonus since it was Broadway week and the tickets were half-price.

    Watch OUT!
I would have given Rise a five star rating except for one thing. When you get on the sky ride they don’t tell you until you are getting on the ride that you have to leave anything in a bag (like your purse or pocketbook with cash valuables and credit cards) unattended out of sight on a shelf for about 20 minutes. Yeah, sure!

Easy to find in Times Square
We went when they opened in the morning. No crowds. Got the VIP ticket that gave us a choice of a souvenir at the end. Nice touch. The museum was very interesting. The ride was thrilling. Loved the special effects of cold, sprinkle of rain and the smell. Made it very realistic. The crew was entertaining and friendly. I highly recommend it.

    Fantastic and truly worth it
Absolutely fantastic experience. Cameron really enhanced the whole day by filling us in on her detailed knowledge of the architectural and historical significance of it all. We were simply WOWED by her professional demeanor and would highly recommend this for anyone interested in the general subject matter. An understanding of Iconic and Corinthian order column architecture really set this experience apart. If we could give ten stars it still wouldn’t be enough! Brava to the team! Highly recommend. Don’t wait, go!

Fun way to walk through NYC history
I want to start my review by saying that this was my first visit to NYC, and we brought our two young adults (college age). We also bought Sightseeing passes which we redeemed "the heck out of"....and it included this attraction. The day we went, it was not busy at all, and we pretty much got right in. We thought this museum was a fun and clever way to learn a little NYC history while having some awesome photo ops. The ride at the end was frosting on the cake. Being from Orlando, it wasn't Soaring...LOL, but it was entertaining and I suspect even more fun for the younger crowd. Given that we already had the pass, value in regards to the entrance fee and time spent here was not really a concern for us.

    Long wait
The wait time to get in amd in between attractions is insane and not worth the wait. Interesting experience but could be coordinated better to lessen the wait.

This was a really fun exhibit! If you like NY and want to learn more about in a fun way, check this place out!

It starts with a movie about NYC, then you enter the museum about film, tv, Broadway, radio, music and more. You walk through the set of the Honeymooners recreated. Friends sofa, the tonight show and so much more.

At the end you are taken on a ride through the Boroughs and to the Thanksgiving Day Parade, 4th of July, and so much more ending at New Year’s Eve in Times Square! So fun!

There is a store where you can buy various memorabilia that is not going to cost your arm and leg surprisingly!

Check it out and have some fun! Take photos and just enjoy learning about NYC!

I loved this. I highly recommend it, especially for those who know NYC well -- I lived in NYC for a decade, there was so many amazing things I never knew about. My kids loved the ride part, but the museum exhibition part was so-so for them -- kind of to be expected, as they aren't expected to be cultural history buffs at 8 and 11 yr old. The ride was outstanding -- very well done. I wished it was longer. Or that we could do it twice!

A little expensive (about $70 AUD for an adult ticket). The history / museum section on the history of New York was ok but the highlight was definitely the 4D ride at the end where you get to experience “flying” over New York. Would recommend visiting RiseNY at the end of your holiday in New York as we enjoyed “flying” over and through New York and being able to point out all the landmarks that we had visited during our 4 day stay!

I so badly wanted to like this. This is a mix of a lot of different things NY. The problem with this is that too many people move freely about this place and it becomes too crowded to see things and we got stuck with people that were having a great time and not giving a flip about the people that they were around. The language they used and the fact that they had to video themselves at every single thing took up so much time that we really couldn't enjoy it the way that we should have. When you come to the end of the things to see, you stand in several lines waiting to do the ride that is similar to Soaring at Disney and it takes so long to get everyone thru the rooms and on the ride that you need to make sure you have no where else to be anywhere near that time or it wll cause you to be late. Aside from the people, the place is interesting and informative.

We did this activity on Saturday 15th February it cost us about $90 for the two of us. And I'm going to be honest it's not worth the money.
There is a so called museum before you go on the ride.
The ride last about 3mins and its just disappointing there is so much build up this being the best experience and it is not that.

This attraction takes you through the history of NYC, through the most emblematic moments and has exhibits on the most relevant topics within the city: fashion, television, music, Broadway, etc. The best part of the attraction is the simulator at the end , very similar to the "Soarin'" attraction at Disney theme parks, but this one over NYC.
I went with my sister for our vacation. I recommend it 100% to everyone who would like to know more about the city and have fun at the same time.

Not worth the $$$. The ride portion is similar to Soarin over California.
For over $85 there is a short museum, Then a long wait (was over 30 min) to do the ride portion. We had seats 10-11 which were on the very sides. It was fun but everything was suuuuper fish-eye from that far over to the side.
The ride can be bought for $12.50 if you want to do it a again. Which means we paid more to go to the museum than the Met!
No good bathroom signs and when you get there it badly needs cleaned and supplies (tp AND towels gone).

We went because it was part of our New York pass. There were several aspects that were well done. The exhibits were solid. Theming at the beginning was good but the “show” aspects were quite lacking.

The “on TV” bit was constantly interrupted by employees walking in front of the screen and then new people joining so they could get us on the ride.

The ride was interesting but the video had several unnecessary jump scares that could have flowed better.

Would only recommend if you have it included in a pass.

Fun museum and awesome ride. Only issue is that restrooms are hidden and there is only one. If you need to use the restroom you need to speak with an employee. When I did that, the “announcer” was snarky and called me out three times in front of the group waiting. I think it was part of the act but she made me feel terrible about something that is actually my illness. Hopefully they will see this review… I did try to talk with her directly but she was not receptive.

Quite disappointed with this “experience”. The general theming was nice, and the overall cleanliness and appearance was good, but inside was just quite dull.

The whole museum section was finished in 30-40 minutes. Since you’re all pooled together to watch an 8 minute film at the start, you’re all forced to either wait your turn to read signs and see exhibits or rush on ahead.

The sets were pretty bland, although most of the information was informative. The section and transition from the film to the main area was cool though.

I enjoyed the little story about new years and reporting it live, with the mixture of obviously recently filmed footage and actual old archived footage. The ride itself was similar to that of “Soarin’” from Disney, although it’s clear this is a very lacklustre attempt.

Most of the experience is just flying over still images, whereas the rest of it is a short animation. The way you’re positioned on the ride too, it doesn’t look very immersive.

Unfortunately someone next to me was filming the ride the entire way through, ruining the fun of it. I asked to ride again but i was told I’d have to pay for another ride, something I was not planning to do.

As I checked out the gift shop, the nice lady told me that unfortunately due to an error with their system, they were unable to let me purchase anything. Even if I wanted to buy a souvenir, I wouldn’t have been able to.

Jeff Goldblum was heavily used to promote this attraction and it was hailed as an amazing attraction not to be missed, but he’s clearly just been paid a lot to say so.

It was an attraction I was glad to experience but I wouldn’t again for the price and the quality. Perhaps the attraction should be an extra fee but the museum should be free?

Staff were friendly enough and the building and general cleanliness and appearance were fantastic though.
