    Someone named "Auntie Jackie"
Today was my birthday and my husband, 2 boys and self went to the Summit to celebrate. There was an agent whom approached us inside the balloon room. She just came to us like she was a family member or a friend and just offered an excellent service of taking pictures and making us strike poses. She even sang "Happy Birthday To Me!" How SWEET!! She's EXEMPLARY TALENT OF A LADY!!! AUNTIE JACKIE!!!

    a must see
This is a must see while in New York. Bring a camera since you can see New York from an amazing view. There are several high floors (91+)made of glass and mirrors. It's a little hard to find. You have to go into Grand Central Stadion and go down to find the entrance. Tickets are timed, and they do let you in at that time.

"As far as the eye could see"
The views of the city were spectacular. The weather was perfect-we were able to see as far as La Guardia Airport. Enjoying the signature cocktail on the 93rd floor terrace was a nice finishing touch!

    Fantastic view over 3 floors
The views were amazing and you could see every direction over 3 floors, well worth the money. The silver balls were fun and everyone enjoyed these. You get covers for your shoes and sunglasses on entry if you need them. It is well organised and guidance is good. It can get very busy in places but you only have to wait a few minutes to take photos if the area is busy. It was well worth the money.

    Outstanding views
Expensive but the views were incredible, felt better value for money than Top of the Rock and was nice to grab a drink. The silver balls were cool but it was completely hectic in there. Recommended.

    Fantastic experience
If there's one experience you need to do in NYC, this is it! I booked a slot for 9.30 so we could get a night view of NYC and the buildings lit up. Very organised and well staffed, although the queue to get through security was long, it moved quickly. We went up a mirrored lift to the 92nd (?) floor in a flash to reach the Summit! Walking into the area that you were able to see the whole of the city, took my breath away. The mirrored floor gave the impression of walking in the air. It was very crowded but people gave each other space to move around, take photos and look out at the views. My daughter loved the room with the silver balloons. There are staff around to calm down certain behaviours (signs say not to kick the balloons but there were quite a few children doing this and at one point, quite a few burst). There are informative plaques dotted around and a nice art installation. We took the escalator up to the other viewing decks and stepped outside to have some churros and relaxed around the perimeter for more beautiful views. We never felt rushed or told our time was up. We stayed around 2 hours watching the moon dip and the boats on the Hudson river, across to Jersey. This was definitely the highlight of my trip to NYC!

I purchased 12 tickets, spent almost 1k only to be treated like a prisoner. The views were lovely, but they make you purchase tickets for a specific time a lot , but then put you on a line with hundreds of people ahead of you. The lines were moving ok though in some areas. When we got to the room with the balloons, we were having lots of fun as a family but then some guy starts yelling at everyone for being too harsh with the balloons and loudly threatens all the children to throw them out if the balloons pop? Seriously? Then we get yelled at by another bouncer looking guy for trying to twirl around for a video in the room with the sky screen. He claims we can’t stand on a certain side of the room yet there are no signs that indicate that. It’s like they just want some sort of control over the people. Basically I did not enjoy spending $1000 to get yelled at. Then if you purchased another $25 per person tickets to get on a three minute elevator ride, you will be put on another huge line that takes forever to move because they are only using one of the two elevators , there are three different entrances and exits in the same area so it’s like a zoo in that spot. We did enjoy the ride once we finally got on though. The views were pretty and there actually was a very pleasant guide operating the elevator. We took some nice pics in those three minutes. I am not not sure it was worth the wait and the hassle. Levitating section also had a 30 minute wait and really not worth it at all. Very touristy attraction I guess and I have no patience for all the nonsense. I really don’t like to pay to be treated like I’m in prison. They should probably hire happier people there who know how to organize things better and guide the guests through in a more pleasant manner.

Despite the fact that we greatly enjoy the view from Summit, the whole trip wasn't worth the money. We bought tickets for the Summit Experience that included beverages and sunset, but we had to reschedule our visit for Saturday due to heavy rain on Friday. Despite the flooding and the fact that everything was closed on Friday, the Summit team insisted that we pay a fee to reschedule our visit. Since everyone had to be moved from Friday to Saturday, our tickets were ultimately rescheduled for Saturday, which turned out to be incredibly packed. Although I acknowledge that you cannot control the weather, there are numerous things you can do to enhance the experience for people who paid $200 to stand in queue for an hour.

The balloon-filled room was considerably too packed, and sunset was charged extra starting at 4:30 p.m. when it officially begins at 6:30 p.m. I'm not sure what I paid for since drinks at a bar cost about $20. As I mentioned, the building is beautiful, the view is amazing, and the people in the bar upstairs were all nice and friendly, but the management should do much more. At the very least, they should waive the charge for rescheduling the visit which they couldn't even accommodate.

Summit at One Vanderbilt is by far the best observation deck in the city. No other observation deck has the views that you can see from here. BUT it's truly a shame that the management makes this whole experience a major disappointment. I think they're admitting too many people into their timeslots and when you don't let people through security until the time on their ticket, you're going to have very long wait times. Add to that all of the bottlenecks in their line management meant that we didn't get to the elevator until almost two hours after the time of our tickets. Paying extra to see the sunset was a complete waste because it was already over by the time we reached the first floor of the experience. The Summit was even more annoying by all of the gimmicky distractions that they set up while you wait to take your mind off of the fact that you're waiting for so long (e.g., the theatre, having your pictures taken at multiple points, and the claustrophobic dark tunnel). The staff was great and doing their best but until they do better at making sure people are not waiting for so long, I do not recommend wasting your money on this observation deck.

We pre booked the midday summit in advance paying $101.25, we arrived promptly to be greeted by a snaking queue with hundreds of people. We waited in this queue for no less than 90 minutes with zero staff, zero apology or explanation. When we finally made it to the dark hallway we were escorted via the freight elevator to the top. Inside this elevator there were easily 25 ppl in total like squashed sardines….. not the experience we were expecting despite the queues….. when we arrived on the viewing floor there again were many many people it was impossible get a view or take. Picture without many others in the background. The views were top class but again the business spoiled it. We stayed for around 30 minutes then tried to descend. Lo and behold another snaking queue that we waited in for 80 minutes. An utter disgrace people were tired angry and frustrated again no staff, no explanations nothing. In total we were in queue for 170 minutes, that’s almost three hours which is a long time to waste in NYC. The company really need to get their act together and consider customer experience over selling tickets. Will never return or recommend to s friend.

Great views, the floor to ceiling windows allow really great photos. The day we originally had planned had poor weather and they offered to rebook for free.

There are also lots of art installations with mirrors, and the room with floating balls which adds to the experience and allows for really unique photos.

Was busy but not overcrowded, allowing us to do everything we wanted. (Monday at 10am)

We went to top of the rock the day before and had an awful experience. Queuing 40 mins to get in past our allotted time, too many people at the view point, waiting 30 minutes for a photo, and some areas where a photo was impossible.

Fully recommend summit one as the go to viewing point for New York, much better than the competition.

We’ve booked the summit and ascent as well as the photo booklet digital and print in advance.
It is an absolutely spectacular, unique, breathtaking beautiful experience and the photos are a beautiful memory.

Although we’ve booked in advance there was a long queue upon arrival but they managed to get us in quite fast. The team is very well organized.

Please wear a mask — there is no social distancing at all.
The only thing I wouldn’t recommend is the 360’ photo machine at the end of the tour — the quality wasn’t good and definitely not worth the additional $30.

Cut the long story short: Highly recommended! Book in advance!

We went at 7pm ( sunset booking) in May. Our party of 7 loved the experience that was given here. The ball room was a stand out favourite. We had no issues getting in on time, getting to windows to take photos of the view ( having such a close up view to Chrysler building was a highlight) We chose not to do the levitation area as this was the only place we had to queue. Once we made it to the top we happily waited for the sun to set whilst sipping cocktails. We all agreed that this was worth doing and would always recommend it to anyone coming to New York especially if they have children or young adults with them. The views all around were fabulous and once the sun had set we had no problem getting back down. We did not have to wait for a lift as some reviewers have done in the past.

As a newer attraction this is a busy experience. We arrived at our allotted time and still had a 30min queue to get in (and we were 9.30am, I have a feeling it would be longer later in the day).
The staff are very efficient at keeping you moving, but throughout the experience it was crowded. They give you sunglasses and shoe covers when you arrive, but also beware that all that glass can make it feel very very warm (despite it being December, or maybe because it was so cold outside we had coats etc.).
The views are spectacular, and do not panic about taking too many photos on the first floor you visit (91st I think) as there are opportunities on the other floors too. The staff were not particularly present close to windows etc which meant that lots of visitors were taking a long time in windows and not allowing others their chance.
When you get to the final 'main level' you get to go outside onto a terrace, where the views are fantastic for photos.
Sadly for us it was very crowded and busy here and we got directed to the down elevator (once down you cannot go back up) so although we paid more to go into the glass-bottomed elevator we did not get that opportunity. Considering this is an expensive 'experience' I am extremely disappointed with that, and wish I had been more cognisant of what was happening, but in the crowds you can get carried along. So if you pay for more that the main experience, make sure you look out for the glass elevator when you get to the 'final main floor'.

First the good is that this really is one of the best views within Manhattan of the city. One of the other best views I've seen is from Brooklyn where you get the full skyline (either from the Brooklyn Bridge or One Hotel in BK).
I would recommend going around sunset so you can get the best of both worlds, day and night photo ops and if you're lucky, a nice sunset will be spectacular.

The only downside were the influx of wannabe Instagram influencers and honestly the balloon room bordered on chaos. There were children running around popping balloons which was too much. Some of the art installations also seemed a little unnecessary and a copy of other famous works for the IG influencers to snap pics of.

Thank you for your review! As we are such a new and popular attraction, we see a lot of guests come through, and we are often unable to control certain guest behavior. All of our art is completely original and crafted for our space, so our guests love to spend time admiring and taking photos with it. We're glad that you enjoyed your experience with us!

This was a wonderful and unique way to enjoy the incredible views of New York City. I would recommend it, however, I think a lot more could be done in terms of ticket times and capacity to ensure it is a little less busy. Lots of people sat on the floors by the windows the entire way around, meaning it was an extreme challenge to find a gap to take a good look. And also a lot of people touching the glass, which left smears all over the windows, which was disappointing. However, staff were friendly and helpful, and overall, I'd recommend this experience.

Tip - I recommend going up around sunset time, so you see both day views, then night views. Personally, I found the night views were my favourite!
