On a recent trip to NYC, we had the great pleasure of touring the Dumbo neighborhood of Brooklyn with Kevin. As someone who has had the opportunity to work with more than a few guides, I can say without qualification that Kevin is top of the line - extremely knowledgable and overflowing with interesting anecdotes served up with a witty sense of humor. Kevin deftly walked the very fine line between responding to group interests while keeping us moving through the tour. Can't wait to learn about more of the city with Kevin on a future visit.

It was fabulous! Our guide was so knowledgeable! He showed us so much history. I was intrigued for hours by his stories and pictures. I think meeting out front of Plaza hotel is better than a statue. Cab driver had a difficult time navigating the address. Traffic made us later than expected but our guide called and found us searching for statue. Cabbie didn’t know where it was. Loved the architecture!

Our historical tour of Downtown, Tribeca, and SoHo was really interesting. We experienced a good sampling of architecture and historical events/people that have shaped NYC into the vibrant city that it is today.

Kevin Draper of New York Historical Tours provided an incredibly informative and interesting tour (Alexander Hamilton & The Founding Fathers Tour) in the Financial District. Kevin was so engaging and knowledgeable. His narration was just excellent, so much that even someone who isn't a history buff would come away a convert! Our tour guide was very knowledgeable, informative and passionate about NYC’s history and architecture. Our tour was two hours long and we could have gone for another two.

This is the 2nd tour with owner, Kevin Draper. We did the Gilded Age starting from the Plaza and ending at the Cooper Hewitt Museum. The 2 hours flew by and we learned so much about the city that we live in. Kevin has an unbelievable amount of knowledge and is so enthusiastic about sharing. Although not the cheapest of activities, the private tour was really great because first of all, if one is running a couple minutes late, the tour guide isn't going to leave. Second, we could sneak into The Plaza for a quick bathroom break and intro to the age without anybody noticing. And Third, the tour is easily customized to our interests. There is a great deal of material one could cover on a Gilded Age tour, so it's wonderful to have the tour guide zero in on exactly what you want to get out of the tour and provide that information to you in a well thought-out manner.

Our guide Sara was excellent: well-informed, articulate, humorous, patient and friendly. Her descriptions were literally fit to print, and highly relevant to present times, culture, trends and current events.

Our group has taken countless tours with Kevin of New York Historical Tours, and, like all of them, this one did not disappoint. I hadn't been to the museum since my children were young and forgot about all the amazing exhibits. My appetite has only been whetted to go back and see more!
