Pink and Red designs-NOT a museum. Extremely overpriced
This was my kids' idea. They found this online when looking for things to do while in NYC. We drove in from quite far ( 3 day drive ). We all were expecting a museum and ice cream treats. I could see the disappointment in them, though they would not express it since they saw how much it costed ($200.00+ for family of 4). They proceeded to be giddy and 'play the part'. This is not a museum by any part of the definition. It is pink and red designs with few games, sprinkle (aka ball) pit, slide, table top tennis, and pink souvenirs for sale. Few stations with ice cream-one small scoop of typical flavors and cotton candy station. I think if this was $5 or 10 dollars with optional tipping and name something besides "museum", it would have been 'ok', but even then, it would be more appropriate for the locals to hang out- not really tourists who are already paying a fortune to come to NYC. I personally try to spend money where the experiences will be worth it. This unfortunately was about $160 at least, over spent. Sorry, but need to be honest here for any other distant travelers. Nonetheless, this is my opinion only. Some people may live for this type of "experience".

No chocolate, check before for daily flavors
No chocolate, like what? Check before going for the daily flavors cause no chocolate in a museum for ice cream is kinda wild

    Great hospitality!
It was a great experience, many delicious flavors and an enjoyable experience. During our walk-through however, my 2 yr old hurt his fingers on the upper floor and the GM (Mr. Sauce) was extremely helpful, accommodating, as was the rest of the staff. They checked in on him periodically and ensured he had a great time and could actually enjoy the rest his birthday there. Which he did! It really was a fun time, but that kindness put it over the top, thank you all! If I could give more stars I would!

    Skip it
Don't expect much ice cream. Just a couple flavors, aurh poor service. If you want a good scoop, there is a bar at the end...where you have to pay. Very disappointing.

    Fun Experience
Fun Instagram-worthy place. You'll be offered three ice cream treats plus other snacks along the way so don't arrive full. My teenage daughter loved it. Not sure it's worth full price though.

    Fun!
Really cool. It’s a mix of an ice cream history museum and art museum. Went with family of all ages and everyone had a blast. Definitely pricey but worth the smiles (and free ice cream). The sprinkle pit was definitely the coolest part!

    Do not waste your time
If you are wanting to learn about the history of ice cream, do not bother. It is a tourist trap in the most literal sense of the word. One room had about 20 artifacts and a jumbled timeline, along with some coloring pages and search-a-words. The rest was just a walk through of questions to ask your friends and cheesy wild plastic filled rooms. If you are looking for a place to get toddlers hopped up on sugar and over stimulated by intense over the top colors and ball pits, this is the place, though. I did not appreciate having to sign a waiver about getting photos and video taken in order to go. It cost more than the wax museum and took us all of 30 minutes.

    Horrible waste of money
Easily the stupidest “attraction” I’ve ever been to. More of a child’s play area at the mall without anything to play on. Offering “unlimited ice cream”. Flavors so poor you won’t want seconds! Soft serve peppermint. One flavor of ice cream offers was a cherry popsicle. Thank goodness I didn’t pay!

    Kids really enjoyed it
Such a random place, not entirely sure what I thought of it as an adult but the kids had an absolute ball. They loved the ‘swimming pool’ and enjoyed the slide. We spend a few hours getting through the whole place. Thought the ice cream was a little bland if honest hence the 4 stars. Definitely a good trip for the kids, not sure I’d rush back but worth the visit nonetheless.

Not enough ice cream or variety of ice cream
Not enough ice cream or variety of ice cream. There were only three stations where you can try ice cream. For $46 per person, definitely not worth the price. Only redeeming quality were the friendliness of the staff and beautiful holiday decorations. Don’t waste your money here.

    One big marketing gimmick!
Gimmicky place! This place is ONLY for kids. It’s basically an indoor playground with ice cream themeing and tasters of just on ice cream. For any adult to write that this place would be good without kids, is insane. Kudos to the founders for managing to find a marketing gimmick that has allowed them to be successful enough to expand to other Cities. This place is NOT a quality experience. Definitely not worth $45-$50 a ticket.

    A lie and a fraud
This place is a fraud and a lie. It’s not a museum. It’s not even an experience. It is hucksterism at best. Cost us 75 bucks for meaningless pink rooms. The ice cream is dreadful and not featured in any way to do justice to such a wonderful treat. Shame on you for exploiting an unwitting public. If you don’t believe me check the other 127 one star reviews here. The staff were completely unhelpful and the two I did question only spoke Spanish. We were out in 30 minutes after vacuous wandering. Want my money back.

A museum of ice cream is a perfect place to go if you have a kid who loves ice cream and an hour or so to kill in New York City. There are a number of fun activities and interesting things to do in there and of course there’s the unlimited samples of ice cream. My only real complaint is the flavors they have were rather limited so if you have a child that is a little bit picky in regards to the flavors they enjoy you might not find it being worth the price of admission. It could also get pricey if it’s more than just two or three people considering what you get out of it. Overall, it was a lot of fun, my daughter really enjoyed it, but it’s one of those types of experiences that if you do it once you likely don’t need to do it again

If you have been to Color Factory or Meow Wolf, this place will be disappointing. We took our daughters, who admittedly enjoyed the scoop of ice cream, cotton candy, the slide, and the sprinkles pool, but we had seen everything in 30 minutes and my husband and I were completely underwhelmed, especially for the nearly $240 we paid for our family of 4 to get tickets. We felt it was extremely overpriced for the experience and would not recommend it, especially if your kids are over 10.

This place is a ‘museum’ in no sense whatsoever, more of a slightly shabby playground with some decently tasty treats.

Right off the bat, the staff seemed a little overwhelmed and unorganized, friendly but flighty and inconsistently service-oriented. We were herded this way and that, with little to no communication about what was happening until you inevitably screwed up and stepped out of line, or got confused about what group was being admitted.

The interactivity portions were…fun but a little weird. Doors with video behind them, pink wallpaper, scoops on the wall, etc. A room of plastic bananas 🍌 hanging from the ceiling invited you to walk through it, only to see signs off to the side not to touch them. Odd in an interactive museum that catered to kids. Makes for a cool photo op though, which brings me to my main point: this is not a museum. It’s an indoor playground (already with A LOT of unrepaired damage and non working parts/interactivity) with some pretty tasty ice cream, admittedly. My favorite was the birthday cake!

The slide was pretty cool, and there’s a playground towards the end of the experience and the sprinkle pool which was a hilarious madhouse and cutely designed. There are several rooms, halls and areas with little to nothing to do there.

Don’t go expecting to learn anything about ice cream, all the information is on teeny weeny placards on a few of the hallways.

At one station they ran out of spoons, and instead of keeping things moving by prepping orders, they didn’t seem to be in a hurry to keep customers moving, but just chitchatting with a single group while the line got longer and longer. Imagine if a restaurant was run entirely by teens. Nobody was rude, and some employees were on top of their game, others were surly and took their time serving customers.

If you want some cool pics for Insta or are cool paying a decent chunk of change to treat your kids to an hour’s amusement, go for it.

Here’s what I’d do: in some of the more pointless rooms/areas, include some exhibits about how ice cream is made, or fun facts, history, but an actual exhibit, not just plaques.

Finally, fix the broken stuff. Take a note out of Disney’s playbook. We saw plenty of inner workings, food and supply carts, boxes, damaged parts, and overall disorganization and confusion that took away from what could have been a pretty magical experience.

This was hands down my kids favorite activity on our recent trip to NYC. I was hesitant to commit to this activity since it is quite pricey - however, after experiencing it, I think it is worth the cost. The whole vibe of this museum is pure FUN. Every room, hallway or corner was filled with anticipation as to what would come next. My kids were delighted by all of it! As others have noted, the staff is extremely friendly and encourages a fun visit at every stop. Each room was a full-on sensory treat! From the yummy ice cream to the bright colors to the upbeat music, to the sprinkle swimming pool... It's awesome. Come hungry, because the ice cream is really tasty. Perfect also for a hot day! Loved that the experience included unexpected activities that kept the kids busy & engaged the whole time. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting NYC. Tip: some times are priced cheaper than others - I recommend checking the website and going first thing in the morning when it appeared the cost was lower.

My friends and I were looking forward to visiting the Museum of Ice Cream during our day in the city. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed with our experience. Museum is a very loose term for this place…there are timelines that are incorrect, incorrect statements that say Marco Polo was alive in 1275 BC. Some of the other “facts” had typos and looked as though they were slapped together and not fact checked/read.

The experience is essential various rooms that are meant to be picture spots which are poorly put together. One room has many bananas hanging from the ceiling for just no reason at all. There is a section with notes on different Zodiac signs and they didn’t have anything for Leos.

Ice cream is decent and all the staff were very nice but for $60 a person this is a huge rip off. While it has potential, the poor attention to detail, lack of purpose/reasoning behind things, and high cost of entrance make this an experience that I would not recommend.

We were very disappointed with this entire experience. The venue is made up of a bunch of rooms and each is somewhat themed, for example one is like being in a subway car and another has a bunch of pink and yellow bananas hanging on strings, and another had whack-a-mole and skeeball games. No rhyme or reason, very random and odd. There is no map or guide, you are on your own to find your way through. I’m not sure if we saw each of the rooms, there’s no way to know for sure because the place is like a maze. The flavors of ice cream were not appealing to anyone in our group. Coconut gelato, cream cheese gelato, and similar flavors were not very good. Even the one sample of chocolate that we got was not good. There was cotton candy offered in one room. At $50 per person, this is extremely overpriced. I do not recommend this at all, not even at half the price. It was just not enjoyable at all.

This was so promising but really just a low to average experience; a bit of a disappointment.
Do not be fooled, this is in no shape or form any type of museum: other than reading some stickers on a wall when we entered, I didn’t gain any insight into ice-cream. The best way to describe it is as an overpriced young kids playground spread out over a few floors via a winding corridor and with 1 slide included. Along the way you collect small portions of ice-cream; if your unlucky to go at a busy time, you wait in line for this portion of ice cream (limited flavours) each time you enter a new area. The experience was very stop start, who doesn’t love waiting in line…
For the $150+ spent for 3 people, I should have went to a specialist ice-cream shop after taking my child to a more entertainment indoor playground. I would have saved about $100 and not needed to wait in line as much.

This place is so overpriced for what it is. The first few rooms have NOTHING to interact with. What is the subway room? The random disco room? There is very little to interact with as an adult or a child. There’s nowhere that they show you how to make ice cream or have you participate ? It’s an overpriced store not a museum and as a playspace it’s very limited. Took us less than 1 1/2 hours to experience and dropped 100$. Will not come back with my other child or guests from out of town. The person who designed it this seems not to have had kids in mind. Feels like a gimmick.

We had a blast! The staff was absolutely amazing, both gentle and funny, the ice cream was really good, the place itself is so nice and interactive, it's great for kid and entertaining for adults too. I get that it might be considered overpriced so i would recommend buying the tickets much time before and on times when not a lot of people will be there, that way you could get them for even 35 dollars, which isn't too bad. The place is good, the food is unlimited (and dairy free i think), i loved it!

I had no expectations about this place but booked because it looked whimsical, was called a museum, and was about ice cream. I was wholly dissatisfied. Most rooms were just empty, save for some decorations and some frozen treat. I could have walked through the whole place in like 10 minutes. I was under the impression for the nighttime experience, which promised a special cocktail at the beginning of the trip (a weak vodka cranberry, fwiw), this museum would have some kind of activities to entertain and endear adults. That really wasn't the case at all. I would love to have had my 2 year old because he would have gotten joy out of it. The biggest problem was that we had to stand in a line in a single room with only letter magnets on the wall for 20 minutes to wait for a scoop of ice cream. There were dozens of people in that room, despite highly staggered entrance times. Worse, another employee came to the ice cream station that was causing the backup (staffed by a single person) and did nothing to help move things along. I did not pay a significant amount of money to stand for 20 minutes on queue in a loud room and scroll my phone because there was almost nothing else to do. The experience was certainly not worth a quarter of what I paid and I cannot recommend this place to anyone.
