- karenaO2645IU0 contributionsSuch a beautiful show!! The music is fantastic!!I have read the book, and seen the movie multiple times, but the musical brings a new dimension to this story. Soooooo beautifully done! Maryanne Plunkett's portrayal of Allie was so touching! All of the actors were amazing and their voices were divine! My daughters were hooked on the soundtrack before we went and now I listen to it all the time. Sad to hear this show is leaving Broadway in Dec, but glad to hear it will be going on tour. It is a must see!Written September 30, 2024

- Yolanda28020 contributionsExtraordinary!Delightful, powerful, moving and motivating musical of the fight for women’s suffrage in the US. Incredible voices, beautiful lyrics and music. Most important at this time as so many freedoms are in jeopardy. Understanding the trials, tribulations and torture Alice Paul and others experienced to gain the right to vote should make any female NEVER miss the opportunity to vote.Written September 30, 2024

- BMiller20130 contributionsMuseum of Broadway is a HitIf you love Broadway shows and want to get more information on the history of Broadway, the Museum of Broadway is the place to go. Not only does it share the rich history, but it also allows for interactive opportunities in many shows such as The Lion King, Rent, Wicked, Hamilton, Phantom of the Opera, Six and so many more. The tour consists of 3 floors (elevator available if needed) of dazzling costumes and props. Located at 145 W 45th St. Adult admission is $39.Written September 27, 2024

- oleperfesser0 contributionsNothing to see here; move alongAimed at Gen Z (or at least its more "woke" members), this is an over-amped, underwhelming musical featuring pop tunes that fans of Katy Perry and NSync might find enjoyable, but more mature audiences won't. It's also divisive: there are no male characters who are painted sympathetically. Even Romeo is a "douche" (their word, not mine), and Will Shakespeare is not a genius but a selfish, thoughtless, neglectful husband and absentee father. The Gen Z audience tends to whoop and applaud when the female characters tell the males off and use obscenity just like guys do; there's also a trans romance that wins cheers; it's all so very post-modern and hip. Just not very good. Lots of mediocre performances by people "thrilled to be making their Broadway debuts." You will be less thrilled.Written September 20, 2024
- Sightseer379006911720 contributionsRecommend a visitWhen I booked our hotel I had no idea the Museum of Broadway was almost next door. We knew the Museum was on our to do list and was pleasantly surprised at its location . We all loved the museum but like others think it could have been better organized . The Museum needs more docents and actors providing little asides about the gossip behind the curtains . In our entire time at the museum only one employee gave us an inside story behind several plays and the actors lives . This is what museum attendees want to hear . He was very knowledgeable and he was always sought out answering questions and offering insight . I hope the museum can get better organized maybe a larger location . The gift shop did have a very nice variety of gifts to buy . The Museum has to be interesting enough so people will come back over and over as exhibits and docents change . I would definitely come back .Written September 18, 2024
- LucE7270 contributionsAverage at best.I absolutely do not understand the loads of positive feedback for this musical. The storyline is ultra-thin, acting and singing average at best and dancing on a level expected to see at a schools play. Music consists of pop songs, so no songs written exclusively for this musical. Cast is extremely enthousiastic, but for a broadway show you may expect more than that. We got the tickets at 50 prct discount. Enough places empty at the sunday matinee show. Reaction of the public was very mixed...in contrast to the other broadway shows I saw last week (at McNeal and Chicago the audience went wild). See this musical if you Just want to enjoy listening to popular songs with average dancing. Do not see this musical if you expect original songs, professional performance and a great story line.Written September 16, 2024

The most disappointing show I have ever seen. My sister is a HUGE Michael Jackson fan and all she wanted for her 45th birthday was to see this show. We made it into a NYC weekend and invited friends. We had the understudy for Michael, Darius Wright and I’m sorry to say he can’t sing or dance. It was TERRIBLE. They turned the instruments way up to drown his voice and the backup dancers, danced better than him. Before everyone feels bad about my comments remember he gets a full paycheck and we paid full price tickets (not cheap at all) to see someone that could not perform. I hear great things about this show as long as the lead performs. Keep your fingers crossed that you do get him or just be prepared to feel all the feels.. feel uncomfortable, bad, and chuckle all at the same time as you see Darius try to perform the role.

I have not seen this show yet as we live in Maryland and the weather was very bad as they were predicting cyclone weather. I postponed our trip and they gave us past due tickets that we can use as long as the show is running.
I have been trying to get 3 tickets for a matinee only on a Wednesday or Saturday as that is when our transportation runs to New York. I have explained the situation numerous times and when they respond it gives us 2 days to make arrangements and they are never on the requested days.
I just sent another request on 2/6/2024. They came back with a response there were no past date tickets available at this time. I was furious and sent another email stating this is ridiculous as I know the show is not a sell out every day. I have not received a response to my last email.
I bought these tickets for my friends , one was celebrating her 80th birthday in September.
I am posting this as hopefully I will get a response from Broadway Direct.

Over the years I’ve probably been to a couple dozen Broadway Shows and I’d have to say that this is one of the best. Myles Frost has to be the reincarnation of Michael Jackson. He’s just THAT good! But, overall, the directors of this smash hit have assembled an incredible cast of actors and designed an outstanding show in depicting Michael Jackson’s life and music. Definitely worth seeing.

Oh My what a great show! This is only the 2nd time in 40 years I've ever witnessed a standing ovation in the middle of a Broadway show..... And the first was Jennifer Holliday in Dreamgirls! MJ's 'Thriller' was a show stopper!
Kudos to the entire cast. Your production is fabulous..........and the audience LOVED IT!

I thoroughly enjoyed MJ, the music & the dance moves. I would have enjoyed the show even more if the Neil Simon Orchestra seats were staggered & I had an unobstructed view. I paid $200+ for my Orchestra seat only to find a tall man sitting directly in front of me. I had to lean to my far right or to my far left every time he leaned left or right, respectively. I am 5’3”. Maybe I should have requested a booster or double booster & obstructed the view of the person directly behind me.

It was an amazing show! The acting was great, the vocals were good, the music was good, everything was impressive. Getting into and out of the theater was not too hard, and the experience was great overall. It was a little bit loud, and the synth bass was so strong, you could feel it in the upper level seats. I highly recommend to anyone.

MJ the Musical is terrific thanks to the performance of Myles Frost. He becomes Michael Jackson in voice, movement and dance. Be forewarned that the show is excessively loud and gets louder as the show progresses. Bring earplugs. You will need them. The excessive volume diminishes the quality of the music. As we were leaving, the young person seated behind us said, "I think my ears are bleeding."

We were fortunate enough to have been in NYC the week following the Tony awards which MJ was nominated for several categories and Myles Frost won for his lead role. We were able to purchase tickets the day of and were blown away. It was an incredible and deeply moving show with so much talent.

Go see this show, sit close, and have the time of your lives! Broadway is always changing and this year in March there are some really great shows opening up, but I think none of them will hold a candle to this show. Go see the people that originated these roles on Broadway, as I am not sure that anyone will fill their shoes as they have. We attended this show with our 12 year old and he danced, laughed and cried.

MJ The Musical on Saturday, May 21st, 2022 at 2PM.
1. Are backpacks (adult) allowed in the theater?
2. I arrive at Moynihan Train Hall at Penn Station, New York. Is this walkable to the theater or how many blocks is it.
