    Memorable, magical tours with Mark...
Mark has the gift of transmitting his delight and appreciation of art and beauty to whomever he is speaking with, and people love it. Mark's tours inform, uplift and inspire. He brings new appreciation and insights to the familiar, and shares surprising revelations of New York City’s lesser-known wonders. Mark’s love of this magical city opened my eyes to it in a whole new and wonderful way.

    Best of the Best
Mark is the man! Awesome tour of MET and Natural History Museum. Depth of knowledge was incredible. The day flew by and our 3 boys loved it. Mark knew how to navigate the crowds and kept us moving all day. Mark modified his tour to our requests and made it a truly memorable day.

The most inspirational passionate tour I have ever been on!
Mark's knowledge and passion for art makes the tour of Metropolitan Museum of Art and Central Park come alive. Mark's energy is infectious. The tour was exciting, full of information and fun. Mark insight into the artwork brings it to life, it's like you were there with the artists as they created each piece. I recommend anyone who want to tour the Met or Central Park to experience it with Mark. He is an exceptional person.

The best tour I've ever had
I visited New York last summer for two weeks and during that time I visited the Rockefeller Centre where Mark gave us a fantastically detailed tour of the art and history of the Rockefellers. For a Brit with little knowledge of the subject to begin with, I felt very educated after the tour! Mark went above and beyond to answer questions and comments we had. Mark delivered our tour with such passion and enthusiasm you could really feel the history come to life through his words! Trying to find the money to return to this amazing city.

    Fantastic MET tour!
Mark was awesome! He made this tour super captivating and thrilling. His knack for knowing the unknown made this visit to the MET that much more enriching. I have been on a handful of museum tours and must say I leave less than impressed. This experience was totally different. If you're visiting from out of town and want to make the most out your visit make sure you get on one of Mark's tours! You will not be disappointed!

Metropolitan Museum of Art Tour is Exceptional!!
I have been to the Met on a few occasions and absolutely love the variety of incredible works they display there, however it is very easy to get lost in the vast space and thousands of works. My friends and I decided to do a guided tour after someone recommended Mark to me...we were not disappointed!! Mark, who is an artist himself, is extremely knowledgeable of not only the works of art, but also the crazy history and politics of the museum itself. Mark is animated, engaging, and plays to the crowds preferences. Would highly recommend to any and all interested in getting a full, enriching experience at one of the World's best museums!...for native New Yorkers and those visiting the city from abroad. FIVE STARS!!

Planning a visit to New York City? A tour with Manhattan Mark must be at the top of your list!!
On a recent visit to New York City, I, and a group of friends, were fortunate to be given an enchanted and unforgettable tour by Mark. A few months earlier, a relative had mentioned Manhattan Mark Tours in passing and the glowing review was enough for me to want a tour of my own. On a very cold and blustery day, Mark took us on a six-hour tour of The Metropolitan Museum of Art. Upon meeting Mark, one soon realizes that the tour begins as soon as he says “hello”. Mark is engaging from the start and as we walked from Dean & Deluca’s to The Met, he regaled us with architectural and historical tidbits about the neighborhood. It wet our palates in a way that a mouthwatering appetizer prepares one for an even more delicious meal. In this case, The Met was our main course. Mark adeptly weaved us through the crowds in The Met lobby and once our coats were checked, we were off. Spending a day wondering through any museum can often be overwhelming. There is so much to see and not enough time to do so and even with a map, there is little efficiency involved. Mark had a plan and a vision which helped us to make the most of our time there. He also was incredibly flexible and let us set our own pace and view some of the works in the museum that we had hoped to see. Mark is an artist himself and while that is not a prerequisite for a tour leader, it fuels his passion to want to learn as much as he can about an artist and pass that knowledge on to his tour takers. The research that Mark does on any one topic is astounding, let alone a museum full of paintings and sculptures and historic artifacts. Not to mention that Mark’s passion is indeed contagious. Mark taught us how to look at a painting and view it not with our eyes, but with our minds. Time traveling is not an advertised part of Mark’s tours, but we certainly were transported time and again. We were not viewing the painting from the exhibit gallery, we were inside of the painting and looking out. It was as though we were having a conversation with the actual artist, but they all looked like Mark! His knowledge is vast and our conversations were rich and varied and he answered question after question, all with the zeal of a teacher who could not wait to teach us more. We were at The Met until closing, and could have spent the night if allowed. It was shocking to hear the staffers say that “the museum is closing in five minutes”. It felt as though we had just begun. As we shuffled our way toward the main entrance with much regret, we knew that we would be back there someday soon with Mark as our guide. One more thing, Mark knows lots of secrets, shining gems of scandalous and utterly amazing jaw-dropping facts, and he happily shares them. But, you must take one of his tours to be in the know. My advice, take a tour, more than one, with Manhattan Mark Tours. You will be so happy that you did.

A stroll through time -- New York's Italian Heritage
My sister and I wanted to do something special for our Mom who grew up with a very NY, Italian family, and hadn't been back to the city since she was young. My sister was fortunate enough to experience another one of Mark's tours, and knew he was just the guy to help us with our surprise. And he did not disappoint! The tour was more than perfect. Mark shared so much history with us! His energy and excitement was contagious and never once faded. His attention to detail was incredible. Although it was his tour, he made it very much ours--involving us as much as possible. I would recommend a Manhattan Mark tour over and over again. He really knows his stuff, but his passion and love for what he does really puts him over the top. I can honestly say that I will never walk the streets of NYC again without seeing Mark in something! Thanks Mark for sharing your perspective!

    Soho ghost tour- highly recommend!
My friends and I did the Soho ghost tour for Halloween this year and it was definitely all treat and no trick! As a NYC native, I had no idea what to expect as I never went on any NYC tours before (would why I, right?) but I am so glad I did! We walked all around Soho learning about NYC's rich history that is so accessible but so many people (including myself) just pass by without a thought each day. Mark's knowledge of NYC history and culture is bountiful and he makes it current, relatable and basically fun to learn about. His enthusiasm for NYC is infectious and kept the entire group engaged for the length of the tour. He also customized the tour, not only for the spirit of Halloween, but for our tour group itself. He focused on sites he thought we'd enjoy seeing and learning about and answered our many questions. Ultimately, I'd recommend Manhattan Mark's tours to anybody (those visiting NYC for the first time and those who grew up and live in NYC like myself)! He will not disappoint and you will have so much fun learning about NYC!

    Manhattan Mark is phenomenal!
Manhattan Mark is the only way to experience Soho. I have never met someone with so much love and knowledge of New York City. This is not your typical tour, Mark kept our group completely engaged from beginning to end. The tour lasted over 3 hours long and I enjoyed every minute of it. We covered a significant amount of ground and learned about the lovely haunted Bloomingdales on Broadway and made our way over to Dean & Deluca’s where he had multiple people listening in on his memories of seeing Basquiat and Warhol shopping at the upscale delicatessen. As an artist, this was an absolute treat! We also stopped outside the apartment in which David Bowie lived in Soho since 1999 and lets just say, we could definitely feel his ghost roaming around! Mark showed me things that I had not noticed were right in front of me all along. He really captures the essence of New York. There is so much that we don’t see when we’re running around the city and Mark can show you that. His energy is absolutely incredible and as an amazing artist, he knows a lot about the architecture of NYC. I would definitely recommend to anyone coming to NYC!

Meatpacking District Historical Tour with Mark
I took a tour with a bunch of my coworkers down at the meatpacking district with Manhattan Mark and it was a great experience. We started at a little gem of a cafe where we picked up some coffees and walked around the neighborhood observing the architecture and sights while Mark lectured and told the stories and history of how the neighborhood became what it is today. He made everything easy to understand and had such an enthusiastic and positive attitude which made the tour even more fun. Even as a New Yorker who has lived here my whole life, I learned so much about the rich history of the meatpacking district. This tour also encouraged me to look at how I view the city a little differently, where each block has it's own story to tell with its historic architecture and the people who have come and gone with their own contributions to the city. We also took a walk down the high-line and had the opportunities to take lots of pictures and enjoy the the scenic route. It was as if we were taking a tour with a knowledgeable university professor, because Mark seemed to know so much about the city. I would definitely recommend this tour if you are looking for something different from the usual, and want a more educational yet fun experience from a passionate and knowledgeable guide who will show you the insider New York experience.
