We had a great time during this Chinatown tour! Chinatown seems a place tourists can easily walk in alone, but with the same ease they can get lost. Our guide Dan brought us to all the most interesting spots, illustrating us the history and raise of Chinatown. He also pointed out the most interesting personalities in the history of the neighborhood. We ended our tour with a visit of the American Chinese Center, with photos and documents dated back to the beginning of the XX century! I also highly recommend the Little Italy tour, also operated by Tommy's New York, that we did on the same day always with Dan.

Our tour guide Dan was great and we really enjoyed the whole time. Dan was really knowledgeable about the history of the area, both long ago and more recently. He kept the pace lively and while I’d worried my teenagers might get bored, they never did. Seeing inside the temples & community center was special; something we’d not have been able to figure out on our own. Our family also ate at 2 of the places Dan recommended; yum. We ended up adding on the Little Italy tour as well, also well worth the time.

We are a family of 5 (14,17,20) and we have the New York Pass. We had to book the tour via their site and left a creditcard number only for reservation. However, the tour is really for free with the NY Pass.
We were delayed by a few minutes and could not be there on time. I sent an mail about it and got a response right away that they will wait for us. What a service! Someone really waited for us and brought us to the rest of the group. Thanks again for your understanding in this and helping us out.

Our guide, Dan was very knowledgeable and he could tell it in a way that even our kids were interested in his stories. We could ask everything we wanted and he had the answers.
It was really worthwhile.

We purchased the Chinatown walking tour through the GO Pass. We showed up near the Chinatown Information Kiosk on time and our guide was there waiting for us. The tour was very pleasant and informative, as we walked around Chinatown for around 90 minutes. Our guide was very knowledgeable and passionate. He delved into detail about the history of Chinese immigration into United States West Coast and then, the East Coast and subsequently about how Chinatown became established in New York. I found his narration compelling and interesting. Towards the end of the tour, he gave us some recommendations for spots to grab lunch, that was also a nice touch! We came away from the tour with a much deeper understanding of the Chinese community in New York, and I have this tour to thank for that!

Guide was knowledgeable and it was convenient to have someone do the work for me in determining where to go. The guide was personable and gave time for pictures and questions, and lunch recommendations. Access to the benevolent building was interesting and added a lot. Guide had some strong opinions on current events and while we were in general agreement, I could see where that could get awkward quick! Only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars.

What a great tour! We were a small group, but Dan, our tour guide, gave us the full Chinatown experience. His knowledge of the area was amazing, we learned so much about the history, culture, and even architecture of Chinatown. We were able to enter some buildings that would normally be closed to the public, including a Buddhist temple. We ended with recommendations for lunch which turned out great! We highly recommend Tommy's New York tours!!

Spent a couple of hours in the hot New York sun (90 degrees in October??) taking a very informative tour of Chinatown. The tour felt a little long towards the end (though again, the heat may have played a role) but our tour guide Dan was super knowledgeable about every nook and cranny of the area. Chinatown seems small but when you actually start to walk around it feels super large and there are stories around every corner. Well worth the time, though I'd perhaps pick a slightly cooler day.
