What to Expect
This is a typical itinerary for this product

Stop At: SoHo, South of Houston Street, New York City, NY 10022

In the hip neighborhood South of Houston Street (Soho), we visit two businesses (one fashionable photography gallery and one unique food stop) and meet the people behind them. We also learn how this was once considered part of Greenwich Village and discuss the Italian and Irish immigrants who once called this area home.

Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: 403 Bleecker Street, New York, 403 Bleecker St, New York City, NY 10014-2157

From there, we’ll dive into the history of Greenwich Village. Your guide will share with you the story of how the neighborhood went from pastoral estates to bohemian enclave to one of the wealthiest neighborhoods in NYC. Walk past sites of historical significance, like old speakeasies and clubs, and learn where wealth became poverty and then became wealth again. After working up an appetite, we’ll stop at a Brazilian bakery for special Brazilian delights, and on most days see fresh pasta hand-made and cut to order in a 100+ year old pasta shop. On other days we'll visit a modern Lebanese bakery making a unique dish that is difficult to find elsewhere else in the city.

Duration: 45 minutes

Stop At: New York University, 70 Washington Sq S, New York City, NY 10012-1019

As we get deeper into Greenwich Village, you discover that NYU is all around us. We'll pass many of their iconic buildings and learn about the student lifestyle including on certain days visiting a local game shop to see where many come after their studies.

Duration: 45 minutes

Stop At: Comedy Cellar, 117 Macdougal St, New York City, NY 10012-1267

The Village is home to New York’s most famous venues for comedy, theater, and jazz. You’ll be treated to special VIP access to a venue like the Comedy Cellar and see the stage where great comedians like Chris Rock, Sarah Silverman, Jerry Seinfeld, Amy Schumer, and many more got their start. Stop by the Cellar's restaurant, the Olive Tree, which functions like a workspace for off-duty comedians. Have a drink and keep your eyes peeled for comedians enjoying brunch or giving interviews.

Duration: 20 minutes

Stop At: Rocco's Pastry & Espresso Cafe, 243 Bleecker St, New York City, NY 10014-4438

Right around the halfway mark, we'll stop for a Greenwich Village specialty: a cannoli. Pasticceria Rocco is another second-generation family business and makes cannoli to order — only this time you get to make it to your own order with a hands-on pastry experience.

Duration: 20 minutes

Stop At: Blind Tiger Ale House, 281 Bleecker St, New York City, NY 10014-4106

We end our tour at one of the city's oldest and most famous craft beer bars. Learn a little about the local beer scene and pair a beer with one of the bar's delicious comfort food dishes.
